Hi, it's been a while since I made a video. This time, I made Rome, my favorite battleship. Using Flyhawk etching detail up set and trumpet kit. Figure used the ION model 3D print product. Refer to this link for other detail products. ionmodel.com
It's a pity for the wrong flag ...the correct one should be with the Savoy flag and crown in the white segment. See Regia Marina Flags 1940/1946 for more details.
It also one of my favourite battleships and I think that you did a great job 👍. My late Italian father when he was young, perhaps 16 years old, he went to La Spezia together with his father and was very impressed seeing the Vittorio Veneto moored across the harbour. He told me that he never saw such an majestic and massive ship! I know it is not the Roma but it is quite similar at a distance but I will never forget the pride he had when he told me...
I like how the Italian ships have the identification lines of red and white on their ships. That really sets them off from the other navies of ww2. Also you are a maniac! Photo etch guns in 1/700 scale is madness! I had to sideline my 1/350 HMS Hood because of the photo etch so I couldn't imagine my self trying that in 1/700.
The reason the Italian navy did that is so their planes and Air Force could identify if it’s there ship and not attack it because they used to before they added the lines
@@giordy1662"by accident"... wouldn't put it past the Regia Aeronautica to strike the Regia Marina. This shit was basically IJN vs IJA levels of rivalry
@lolloblue9646 By official reports, it was due to a misidentifcation of the targets. Which is likely, as it happens during the Battle of Punta Stilo (Aka Battle of Calabria), which was the biggest warship fight in the Mediterranean. People were panicked, people were rushing stuff and so on. I doubt any italian would purposefully bomb and ally, rivalry or not, during combat.
Incredible. Outstanding work on the camo pattern, and the tiny sailors are also a very nice touch. How come you went with the resin method for the sea this time? It's not open sea so it isn't really wavy anyways?
I like how you show different methods for modeling water in different states. Calm water like this one using dyed clear resin, resin clays, etc. Did you consider just setting the ship down in the liquid resin to secure it to the base? Thanks for sharing your work. We're demonstrating the method at our ship club.
You should try one with Richelieu if you can. I made one a while back and it turned out pretty good. I'd like to see what kind of masterpiece you can turn it into with your 'advanced tools' (relative to my little ol' beaten up brushes).
Damn, homeboy put on gloves and everything for this…. get ready for EPIC. P.S. Building this model takes about, ohhhh idk, 12,739,274.82 hours - give or take 5 minutes either way - helluva an accomplishment.
The only issue is with the 40mm guns in the bow, those had unusual retractable mounts that could be lowered under the deck and I think looked a bit different when extended.

Roma is also my favourite ship and you have done an amazing, nay, a breathtaking job in this!

I too, have something to say.
nobody really cares
@@mazda_rt24-p constructive feedback is always a good thing. He just pointed out a detail for the next time. 👌🏻

@@mazda_rt24-pMy guy out here suprised that domeone would dare to care about model accuracy in the comments of a model construction video?

It's a cool and exotic detail, except they were put there after we bombed our own ships by accident, so we would be able to distinguish them

I am absolutely blown away. The ship work is Amegraphy level, and the resin ocean is tastefully made.
Magnificent work like always! Italy had some very pretty ships in WWII.
A real masterpiece for the most beautiful WWII battleship. Congratulation !
I'm sure I could see one of those sailors smiling 😉. Fantastic result on the build. Amazing as always. Cheers 🇦🇺👍
Beautiful! I wish they would make this ship in 1:200 scale!

amazing work as usual, but the Italian flag should have the crossed shield in the middle, it was the italian royal navy
This class of Italian battleship is a favourite of mine, and you did justice too it.
Take care, and all the best, and have a wonderful Christmas.
I just watched this a second time. Absolutely stunning work!
When the world needs him, he returns
Very good and very detailed. And very clean as that battleship never left port really. Maybe in the future a Warspite would be a cool idea

Great job! But why haven't you used the Regia Marina flag?
This looks great. Excellent job 😉
Really Nice. I like the new water technique you used :) And your models are always a pleasure :)

Exceptional Work!!! Beautiful build!
Very nice done. I learn great masking solution from You, watching this video! ;) Thank You! All the best for You! ;)
Woooow beautiful ship
So marvelous!

It's a good looking ship
What do you use to glue the pe parts to wood3n sticks for painting?Ca? White glue?
What glue you used for photo etch part?
This is one of two 1/350 ships I built. The other being IJN Kongo. Loved both but it's seriously time consuming. Nine months to complete both builds.
Magnifico
Roma is so Beautiful!!!!
The Italians and French knew how to build very handsome ships in that era.
your water is soooo good
Wow Fantastic~~~!
멋진 작품 입니다.
amazing job, I have the same model i wanted to know where did you buy the detail set?
Do you make any Sci Fi Dioramas? 🛸
i am worried that the upper hull doesnt really fit my lower...... it is a few millimetres too wide
Yea that happens sometimes with this kits, mine was perfect but i have seen other people that had to fill the gap with putty
Great job but the flag is wrong...
Sorry for asking this late, but is this kit a good fit? I want to buy it but experienced some quite bad Trumpeter kit in the past.
Decent fit, like all cheap trumpeter 1/700 you get a good but not amazing kit.
In service year?
😊✌️
What glue do you use for photo edged parts?
CA or superglue is the recommended option
Your work is amazing, but you made a mistake: the flag on the stern is the republican flag...
Mate those AA guns aren’t Even 1/10 of the popsicle stick
ocean is blue
build uss missuri please
fritz x wants to know your location
