Thanks for the review - we're looking forward to seeing the overall feedback from the gel ball community once the main shipment arrives. We spent a very long time ensuring this formula and follow on batches are of the best possible quality.

THANK YOU @Ausgel for taking the time and effort into creating a higher quality Gel that benefits tens of thousands of people in this hobby worldwide 👏
We all know that Gels are the be all and end all of any blasters to achieve decent reliable performance 👌

Always found the 7.0-7.1 barrels an absolute nightmare 😮
I always erred on the side of 7.5 barrels for 90% of my customers builds simply due to the inconsistency of gel growth sizes for much less issues 👌
Bigger cost builds were spot on with 7.3 barrels, but always came with the disclaimer that the customer HAD to invest in top quality Gels and also required extra work to actually invest in Gel Size sorters to make everything work as each blaster was designed.
Gel size and consistency is Paramore no matter how high the performance when building Gelbasters 👌

@@docbob3030 the tight bore barrels hit the market back in the day when milkies were the ducks nuts and those things would grow to about 7.0mm max. Ever since the dawn of harder gels I have gone back to 7.5mm barrels for the same reasons.

    Amazing stuff!!
Yea the sorter works better if the speed is slower. When the speed is faster, the gels slipped to the last hole due to the inertia / gravity (not sure what’s the right term to quote).

I'm not sure if this is relevant but I've tried these twice. Once with tap water and once with pure spring water. Both times the majority have ended up sorted in the 7.35mm+ pile through my sorter.

I’d prolly run the over & undersized back through at least one more time if not a couple to get a more accurate assessment?? The sorter isn’t going to be 100% accurate 100% of the time obviously, but it is the best out there at the moment.

Yeah I run them through twice. I dont show it on camera, but I do because at the rate they go through some good ones bounce into the bigger hole. The sorter isnt perfect but its much faster than my old sorter.

So what hopup works with the 7.2 inner barrels? All the normal hopups come 7.5

    • @calnky
      @calnky 2 місяці тому

Most gel ball hop-up systems have adjustable friction ramps to dial in your specific build - regardless of inner barrel diameter.

seriously, what kind of a test is it when you do not even shoot the things???
slashing the bag/gels, measuring them dry? weighing them? not even measuring them properly, wtf?
this video is just plain confusing, what did i just watch?. demineralized / tap water who cares.
just do what we all do. eg, grab a handful of gels, set your Vernier's at 7.1mm and 7.3mm then run the Vernier's through the hand full of gels and see how many get picked up and how many fall through those sizes. this quickly gives us a accurate idea as to what real world sizes we are dealing with.
then set your Vernier's to 7.1 and 7.7 and see how many, if any super small or barrel blocking jelly beans there are.
    important things to test for,
    1) maximum growth time and consistency... you almost got this right.
test them at 4 hrs, then overnight and check for changes.
    2) spherical consistency... are the gels round and not egg shaped at 4hrs or overnight? this is a big thing
    3) they need to shoot straight.... some gels just will not get a good grouping no matter the barrel size, hop up or fps... test them and see if they group well compared to others of the same calibre/price.
    4) they need to have a good shelf life. people want to be able to use them after a 2 weeks, a month or two without them getting mushy.. are they still the same size, strength and shape 1 or 2 weeks later?
    5) price and volume of gels per bag. how many litres of made up gels does one bag make?
    6) do they feed well? some gels are notorious for poor feeding and they barely can even pour out a speed loader (eg glow gels and some hardened varieties).
    7) hardness test. you nailed this one.
you did 2 of the 6 things that matter to me... not trying to burn you here, just giving some constructive, honest feedback as i like your channel and i am always looking for new products. i believe Bradley is testing these as well. i hope he makes this testing and results a little clearer.
oh and Dan, if your listening. if/when are you gonna get the old school hardened milkies back? pearls are good, but grow times are very tricky to not over grow them.
soaking pearls for 2hrs 5 mins gets 7.1mm average. and 2hrs 25 mins is getting 7.3mm av... really gotta keep an eye on them as they grow out to 7.8mm very quick. and its easy to ruin batches

@@troyhier6509 i appreciate your feedback. But shooting tests are sot something that I am really equipped for. Bradley usually does a good job of these. As for feeding and measuring you appear to have missed the part where I ran all the gels through an electric gel sorter that not only measures but also mimics the feed mechanism of a magazine sorting out any odd shapes or oversize gels from the rest. In my sample size they were all very acceptable in their shape and size. I am sorry that I didnt make that clearer.

    • @troyhier6509
      @troyhier6509 2 місяці тому

my apologies, the gel sorter was kinda out of view and hard to see what was going on. upon a second watch i could kind of see them feeding yes.
however, you didn't even measure any from the tap water test at all (which is what i use). you only measured the "demineralised" "oversized" pile ment to be over 7.4mm... only to discover that they were actually undersized 7.2- 7.18?
then the second sorting of the larger demineralised gels seemed not to work but was then edited out. only to discover that the gel sorter is not calibrated properly or not even working properly? and then you don't even bother to measure the oversize pile on the second resize test?
during the weighing test you only measured "one" from the oversized pile at 7.5mm. yet we measured none from the medium or small piles from either water type.
not trying to burn you here, its constructive criticism. but defiantly some content missing from this test.
