@TasiaCustode, you mentioned that additional Booking "Types" is only available with Google One Premium. What about Google Workspace accounts? Do we get this feature with that? (I don't think Google One is available for Workspace accounts?)
@@BradWieland yes! You could upgrade to either to get the ability to add more than one type of booking. With workspace they are called “appointment slots” and you can make multiple different ones, recurring or not.
I have used them in the past. But Google changed a lot since my last time. This really helped out. At the place where I work, it has been very helpful. I am in IT and a couple of times a year I have to perform scheduled PC swaps for new models. This makes it it so much easier than just emailing back and forth with appointment requests and keeps down time conflicts.
One tip. If you have an event on your calendar that overlaps the appointment time slots it will override the time slots ONLY if the event is marked busy. If the event is marked Free then the time slots will still show up. This is huge if you want something on your calendar that’s not so important but still want to have the time slots available for booking.
@@Grandpa_RLP OK…. Lemme see….. Imagine you’re a fitness instructor and you use Google Calendar to manage your personal training sessions. You’ve set up recurring appointment slots on weekdays from 9 AM to 11 AM for clients to book their training sessions with you. One day, you plan to attend a casual, non-mandatory coffee meet-up with other local fitness instructors. This meet-up is from 10 AM to 11 AM on a Wednesday. While you want to keep this in your calendar, you don’t want it to block out your availability for training clients, since the coffee meet-up is informal and you can skip it if needed. So, you add the coffee meet-up to your calendar from 10 AM to 11 AM, but mark it as “Free” instead of “Busy.” This way, your 9 AM to 11 AM training slots on Wednesday remain open for clients to book. I don't usually comment on videos, but I just wanted to say thank you! You were so succinct but detailed and saved me a ton of time testing the tool own my own. Thanks a bunch, great content!
Okay I'm having a hard time figuring this out. My personal account I can do everything in video but on my business account where i want to use this all i have is appointment slots and in the settings I don't have the check box to change it like Ohers suggested in comments. What do I do or why is this a problem?
I had the same issue. I did a chat with Google and this was their response; "I have checked your subscription, but sadly Amanda the appointment schedule feature is not available for Business Starter plan. This is such a fantastic and helpful video!! Thank you so much for making it! Could you also make a video about google workspace paid version and how to set up multiple types different kinds of appointments and setting up paid appointment slots. Thank you so much!! Oh any what type of plan in google workspace where those options are actually available.
I use an iPad the option for “appointment scheduling” doesn’t appear. I also have the basic business plan. Does anyone have an idea why I’m not getting the “scheduling” options?
click the create button and then you will see the appointment options. It doesn't show if you just try to click into a day on the calendar, at least this is how it worked for me. Good luck.
At the very bottom of the Settings page (click the gear in the upper right), you'll see "Appointment schedules". Tick the box to "Create appointment schedules instead of appointment slots.

I'm sorry if this is a dumb question. Do I need to have a different type of google calendar account to access this feature? I don't see it when I follow the steps.

excellent video!! very well explained. Looking forward to getting started with Google Calendar!! Thank you very much for making it very simple and clear.
This was great my friend! I'm loving this feature as a Google Workspace user. However, do you know if can you create an appointment slot for other users on your account? I've noticed as a user on others GW I can create one but it's not the same as a GW space owner. I haven't found much FAQs about this so if you know I appreciate the support!
One thing that was not mentioned in this video is, how can we as administrators, approve the booking process, before it becomes an official event in Google Calendar? In the event that we get hundreds of robots, or bad people filling out the booking reservation form for a particular date, but then get that one true customer who wants that same date. Maybe we want to call and confirm before it becomes an official Google Calendar booking online. How can we set this up with this system so that we "approve" the booking?
You can use the message area to let them know that the booking is pending approval then after you review either confirm or cancel. I think what you are really looking for is a feature that allows someone to request an appointment instead of book it but also leaves your calendar open for others to make requests for the same time slot. Then you can choose which requests to accept and deny. The way its set up now that would cause double bookings.
Same question here. This is a cool calendar feature for a small business. But I feel it would get ruined by bots or troublemakers. I need it to be more foolproof.
Is there an option to block timeslots without adding an event? e.g. i dont feel like having appointments tomorrow morning so can i block certain hours or do i have to add an event so it shows as unavailable
You can select the Change a date's availability and from there you can make various changes. I can't add an image here unfortunately, but I have on a single day, for example that I am available 10-12 and then 13-16, and then again 18-22. I can block out a specific date by entering it here and marking it as unavailable.
🙋🏾♂️A very informative video. Great audio and pic. I have just set up my google meet😊…how can I use goggle to meet a group meeting, 2 to,3 individuals with different email accounts..thx u
We are a Photography Studio and we require an upfront payment to book our time. I saw a note from Google that said you can now accept Payment for a booking. Do you have any informaiton on how that works? I can't find anything other than a blog post?? Any help is appreciated.
Yes, I believe businesses can accept payments through certain providers. I know Stripe does this for sure and think Square has integration as well! Maybe start there by seeing how to connect a Stripe account to your Google Workspace account. This does seem like a tutorial needs to be made on this issue!
Could I use this to run a course where there would be multiple participants booking the same appointment? I wonder if Goole has a system to accept payments for appointments... that would be cool.
Yes, it can be found on the second page of the setup process under the Payments & Cancellation policy. (The page where you save everything) However, this is a premium service so you will have to upgrade to get this service.
Hello! Great video thank you. I upgraded my account to add multiple calendars but it keeps referencing my default calendar. I spoke with google support but they didn't even know about this new features 😂 I don't suppose you know why this would be?

Well done.. you explained the whole process perfectly 👏🏾👏🏾
For some reason I can only see appointment slots
Love her enthusiasm!
It awesome video, sure i will use it. doing it soon. thank u
I can block out a specific date by entering it here and marking it as unavailable.
how can you manually confirm appointments instead of automatic
🙋🏾♂️A very informative video. Great audio and pic. I have just set up my google meet😊…how can I use goggle to meet a group meeting, 2 to,3 individuals with different email accounts..thx u
Yes this is great, I will be using this from now on! THANK YOU :)
Thank you so much for this video! It was really useful!
Hello! Great video thank you. I upgraded my account to add multiple calendars but it keeps referencing my default calendar. I spoke with google support but they didn't even know about this new features 😂 I don't suppose you know why this would be?
Great tips :) Thank you keep up the great work :) :)
