This comment was originally written for the Bluetooth version of this pedal. But everything I discuss is the same for the hard wired version. I posted this on several channels but Vidami is deleting them so I figured I would try to get the facts out on channels they don’t control. What the advertising doesn’t tell you is this device does not control UA-cam, it controls an add-on extension you have to download and go through a bunch of steps to install. But even if that was the only issues it would still be worth it, but this in fact creates a lot of other problems. Firstly, you can’t use it on a device just because that device has Bluetooth, so forget watching and controlling videos on any smart TV or using Apple TV. And forget controlling a device it does work on (like an iPhone) and mirroring that controlled device because the latency is so bad it’s worthless. But on the devices is does work with there’s problems. You have to turn on the device, connect it. Find the video you want to watch and control. Disconnect the device (because for some unknown reason that they only disclose AFTER you buy their product) your keyboard will not work while the device is connected. So then you have to open Safari (and yes, ONLY Safari because despite their claim you can use Goggle, they do not have the downloadable software extension required to connect the device using Google, again, they only have Safari - which I hate and don’t use). And you have to type into Safari the video you want to play, then, after all that, you reconnect the device and then finally you can use it. But when not in use you have to go deep into your phone or iPad settings and actually redo menu items because when you don’t use the device your browser won’t look or work right. And one last thing, when you watch UA-cam video through a browser you can’t get full screen or hi quality/definition video. It looks bad. I was really excited about this product. And it does work, if you don’t mind spending a lot of time and steps to make it work and then undo those steps just to use your device normally when not using the controller. I was pretty upset how they advertised this product as “a Bluetooth UA-cam controller”. That’s like calling the Titanic “an iceberg detection system”. It’s technically true, but not really how you want to do things. Buy a page turner for 15 bucks…at least that’s a plug and play device.
I bought mine in January 2019 when Tim Pierce featured Quinn Jones (Mr. Utility Design) on his YT channel. It is everything you describe. Being able to watch/control YT videos hands free is a real blessing. For me, it works best on the Chrome browser and not all embedded videos will respond but all in all it is a must have IMHO. Customer support is excellent. Thanks for featuring this latest version. You have a wide audience that could really put it to good use. For the record I have no affiliation with UD. 👍

That's a must-have for UA-cam stuff... I didn't know that existed, thanks RJ. I've had a Tascam MP GT1 for years and use it all the time for my mp3's. Invaluable learning tools 👍
Ah, not compatible with the iPad. IAE, I guess custom speed is hard to implement 'cause I can't see it on UA-cam like RJ has it here. For me, to be able to take a speed from 60 percent to 100 by tens is huge. Would allow me to jam along and slowly get up to band speed. Still, looks like a cool device.
I use Amazing Slow Downer in addition to YT, this seems like a great product to work into my practice routine, I am sick and tired of constantly taking my hands off the guitar to navigate YT videos for practicing so this could be right up my alley. Those picks _are_ swallowed by a vortex, one which also has a taste for the rubber feet on Wah Wah pedals. It’s a cousin to the vortex known as The Great Sock Absorber, which only takes single socks, never a pair. Very cool video. I can remember trying to learn songs by slowing down cassette tapes on a small recorder.
Nice Ron-Teal-io sneakers! They match the Novo. Love the idea of this pedal-it would be perfect to help me study your licks. Although now I won't be getting my supply of RJ's picks magically showing up when I need them.
RJ I have got a question for you man. When you did the demo of the Greer Royal Velvet which I think I might like even better than the light speed you're doing the progression begins going from a to d and then you're out in your pinky on the D whatever the heck you call that other the next part of the progression goes from D2 I'm not sure what something that seems like it's kind of around a minor add something what is it? I keep listening to it and trying to pick it up and I can't quite get it and by looking at the way you're moving your hand I'm like I know it's in that General vicinity and then you're sliding up the neck and a D shape before you go into the first lead? It's a great riff
