So happy I found your channel! I visited the PI in the Marines - and actually lived in Cebu for a bit afterwards. Never made it up North, though, sadly. Wanted to let you know - the... lady pads... they're actually good when you're out riding. Just in case - God forbid! - you get hurt. Not kidding, they're tremendous. We actually have a pack in our Harleys. Anyhow, great seeing you, been bingeing!
Hey Tim, Yeah.. Surfing season starts around July up to Sept. Great offshore winds and good size waves. The two breaks out in front of Ikani are Vista, to the left looking out. and Heartbreak to the right of Ikani. Both have nice lefts. which is a rarity here in the Phils. I went for a week back in August 2023 with my GF. very laid back. scored 2 days of waves... about waist high to maybe chest on a few. We stayed at a little place which rented us a room for 1000 pesos a night. was comfortable with an AC.. and wifi, and a big shared kitchen area so we cooked a bit. Akani seems nice. but for 5K a night. not worth it. the food there was good tho. I stayed 5 nights just a 5 min walk down the road for 5 nights for the price of one night at Ikani. if you make it down towards Angeles let me know.. like to meet up with you... I used to live in San Juan La Union.. we talked on whatsApp back during the great sickness. I was in quarantine Hell in some manila hotel. you called to see if i was alright.. later, mark and claire
All i could find is that 160-MW wind project is largest in Philippines 2021. Also apparently and structures within 20M of the shore are supposed to be removed by owners, but all are ignoring that "foreshore" bylaw.
“Two girls, one latte”. Lmao. The blue lagoon beach is beautiful. The conditions of everything is kind of sad. I would think eventually it will recover. It’s just too beautiful of a spot. That whole statue area was definitely weird lol.
Nice adventures, enjoyed the video:) Not to give a hard time however Tim it will be a challenge to lose weight if you intake that amount of calories .... omelette ok but to add pancakes to that will ensure the weight will stay put. Stay healthy bro.
LUV the NEW MAP Feature ( Hope U Use It MORE ) And WATCHING Ur TRAVEL Adventures :)) MAYBE >>> Give US a CLUE What the PLACES Run ( COST ) Where Ur STAYING ??? Cuz, Some of US, Are WORKING on a BUCKET LIST !!! LOL
they use grid power to turn,, wind turbines are totaly fake. as the power they do generate is unstable and can not be used by power plants.... look it up..
I am just asking because I have just seen your post, but I really appreciate you for taking a felllow Filipina as your wife. Thanks for responding. I will be an avid follower of your post!
Instead of leaving the same way you entered continue to the north / west. They're almost done connecting the road around the Northern tip in the direction to Saud. You can make it on a bike. It's a nice drive along a beautiful deserted coastline .
We stayed Nest Resort in August. Pagudpud literally translates as ‘sore ass’ because it takes so long to get there. Actual sea is world Class. Place got devatated last Autumn by a typhoon.
That’s crazy…I have photos from 2018 infront of that helicopter, dinosaurs, panda etc. my wife is from there and she didn’t realize it got knocked down by a typhoon!
Tim, around 2018 if I remember right, the provincial Environment office ordered a shutdown of resorts for violating the law. It would seem they built "foreshore" structures contrary to existing laws. Hannah's Resort was one of these. The owner reportedly did not want to take down the structures and statues. He passed on around that time. He was known as the Architect of Pagudpud tourism, transforming the area into a tourism haven by establishing the first resort and convention center named after her daughter. He was a retired Air Force Colonel.
Phillipines islands definitely look attractive. I’ve been to Manila but very excited to return and explore the beaches and nature. What are the best, most fun spots to visit and potentially settle in? 🙏
I can't believe Hannah's hotel is gone I stayed there in 2016 it was a lovely place to stay we had a karaoke night with the owner he lived there with his daughters . There was also a woman staying there when she left there was media surrounding her I asked my gf what is going on , she said she was a famous filipina actor . Thank you for this video
That place with all those comic characters gives me some kind of eerie creepy vibes , same thing with that fallen helicopter . That resort seems like an abandoned ghost town . Thank you though for touring us with you
I had an oceanfront duplex in La Union. I rode a Kawasaki Dominar 400 motorcycle which I left in the Phils from La Union though out the Phillippines. I rode down Luzon then the islands of Samar, leyte, Cebu, Mactan, Bohol, Panglao, siquijor, Negros, Panay. Maybe 60 or more places, But I wish I would have done the northern loop of Luzon. I recorded some of it but just too much work for me to edit and produce videos. I am retired and you tube is a job haha.
Why the place is now deserted? Looks so sad🥲 Any plan of restoring the businesses in the future? Feel sorry for the forgotten beach area. I was from Ilocos Norte during my childhood. Thank you for sharing Tim.
i remember blue lagoon when it was pristine and had no structures at all, just kubos of the fisherfolk who lived there, i remember when hannahs started and started the tourism boom there, it’s just sad what happened to it.
Sir great channel I really like your videos my wife is phlippina from eastern Samar live in the USA 🇺🇸 we are visiting maybe if I see you love to be in one of your blogs I love Philippines very much. I plan on returning there. I’m still young yet but we have a house already.
Hi Tim. I really enjoy your channel, and also Chrissy's and Hannah's. I do have one question. I have watched previous episodes where you have commented on the not so great state of infrastructure in the Philippines it's obvious that you don't like the windmills to generate electricity. I was wondering what other options do they have? Especially in the beautiful remote areas that you explore. This is not a criticism, just an honest question because I am curious. Thank you and keep up the great work.
actually, wind turbines are a total fraud,, they use mains power to turn and any power they do generate is unstable ( voltage high and low ) and can not be used by a power station.. just look at a wind mill ( that is actually powered by wind ) and compare it to a 3 blade turbine.. you have to destroy forrest to install the turbines ,, i wish more people would look into how usless these turbines actually are.. in australia they are destroying bush land for turbine blade dumps as nothing can be recycled from fibreglass.. you can google all those facts...
Been there today and it was very nice and calm sea water. Went to eat at the Blue Lagoon inn along with my wife and brother in law and his wife whom are on visit from Norway. The truth was that we were quite hungry and then ordered a dish of prawns in butter and blue marlin sinigang. Stated godd for 3 to 4 persons, but portions more like 2 persons! The fish had bones! And the the prawns were not well cooked. So, will not go and eat there again. Ambiens was just ok. No tourist to be seen neither from abroad or nationals. Beautiful place, but abandoned by people. It is rainy season and midweek.
My wife and I were at the blue lagoon last April and it was the same way as u found it…… I was surprised when u where on the bridge along the ocean there was hardly anyone there but when we where there last April it was wall to wall people
Was there November, i was saying the same thing what happen? If i had the funds i would love to buy there. I heard family feud is the cause of the condition of the main resort. Nice waves when i was there long lefts...
These abandoned beach towns are reminders of the transience of life. They are also a wake-up call about the potential impacts of natural disasters, economic downturns and changing travel trends.
Ohh Tim, what are you doing to that old lady at 1:52, the magnet costs only 35 pesos, you give her 50 pesos and you even take back the change? In these situations where such a person has just the thingy I need I would just give 100 pesos and let her keep the change. Life can already be hard enough there for the locals.
I did that with the coke but not the magnet right? I'm usually pretty good about doing that kind of thing and tipping. Sometimes my mind is working extra hard when vlogging. There are a lot of addtional things to think about
We can always be generous at times but not all the time so it is okay for Tim to get his change so locals will be more honest to their customers specially tourist
That place at Hanna's resort has been destroyed by last years typhoon and was closed during covid, that's why and not been repaired! Probably won't be either. The Typhoon hit hard up there. It's not because of the windmills I think. They provide all our power when there is a wind...
Thanks for taking us to Ilocos Norte not many vloggers visit the North part of the Philippines.
My wife is from locos Norte but now she's in the USA. Thanks for sharing Tim very beautiful town, really enjoyed the video😎

Me wifey says the helicopter is supposed to be a scene from Jurassic Park. (The blades are definitely not spinning in Pagudpud anymore.)

Love your motorcycle 'adventure' stuff. Way more interesting than the plain old 'walk and talk' videos.
Good video, Great Adventure, one windmill was finally turning. Be safe!

The damage of the typhoon of Brooke Shield in the Blue Lagoon. Wiped out the tourist trade in the area sadly.. They Will Rebuild in time.. Maybe?
Really beautiful area. It is sad that it's abandoned.
Looks like it would. Be alot of tourists in that town but awesome video tim

The Graveyard of the Absurd . . . You've got that right 😅
I agree with you on the wind mills. Your motorbike made more electricity than all $8M worth of those windmills.
Sick! Finally somewhere close to my home town!

You're eating too much carbs...not good for health... start doing gym...

Not a big fan of those wind turbines either, wouldn't it be better just to put a couple or so solar panels on most buildings.
Very Cool Vlog commenting as I watched keep that Algorithm Hitting!!
