Hi friends! Let me know what you think of the tour 😊 forgot to mention that this unit is rent controlled, which is why I’m able to rent it for $1450/month, rather than the current market rate in DC. If you have other questions, just lmk in the comments!
In short, it means that there is a legal limit on the amount that my landlord can charge for rent. Some older apartment buildings in DC are rent controlled as well… but most newer buildings are not!
@@brasilfreak24 My building is owned by an individual landlord, so there isn't a leasing office... but Imani At Home here on UA-cam has a blog post on her website that lists other rent controlled buildings in NW DC!
I love the enclosed kitchen and the curved windows, but not the placement of the bed. My 1st choice would be a Murphy Bed, if not, then the bed against the wall facing the windows with open shelving surrounding it to sepatate it in its own space while still allowing it a view of the windows. I would also create a curved window seat in front of the windows with a potted tree on either side to give the feal of a balcony. This apartment has so many plusses to it.😊
What a cute apartment and you have decorated it well!! If it were me, I would arrange my living area (sofa, etc) around that gorgeous bay window…and would have my bed on the far left wall as you enter the living space. Nonetheless, your place is adorable. Enjoy and best wishes!
If u ever want an extra console top I bought a piece of furniture from Refine Feline and it looks like a black console but has a litter box hidden inside. So I have extra space for items to place on top and my little ones box is still hidden away.

Thanks for the tour, Erin. I’m moving to DC soon and find your videos very helpful and informative.
Q: What does rent control mean?

Amazing- I'm looking to stay in NW and pay this much. I would appreciate contacting the leasing office if you're willing to share the name!

I really like the dark forest green reading nook. The wallpaper is beautiful.
Great job! A comforter complimenting the color of your couch would look nice.
Thanks for the suggestion, I’ll consider it the next time I need to replace my bedding!

These are great ideas! Maybe if I owned my apartment or had the budget for more upgrades I would pursue them... a girl can dream!

I have thought about that and will maybe give it a try if I need a refresh in my living space at some point! Thanks for the suggestion :)

What a great idea! Thanks for the tip!
That lamp in the nook is such a find! Do you know if a lamp with a little table like that has a specific name? (Hi from NW DC!)
I don't think it has a specific name, but I know the style is vintage/midcentury!
gorgeous! which neighborhood?
Thanks! I don’t share my specific neighborhood for safety reasons, but I live in Northwest DC!
What’s the white storage cabinet from Wayfair called?
I believe the brand is called Latitude Run!
