I absolutely love your apartment! I actually have an apartment that comes out to 325 sq ft and I’ve been looking at apts on UA-cam that are similar sizes, just to get ideas on layout, storage. Our places are similar, and havjng kitchen in a separate room really makes studio more livable. I find a lot of Apts these days are just one big room with a long kitchen down the side wall. Anyways: nice place! Have a nice day

Cute. Peel and stick wallpaper will happy up your kitchen. Also inexpensive bamboo blinds or soji screens made of balsa wood and white paper can cover the kitchen shelves.

Great video, props to you for keeping it real and showing a realistic space, not something unattainable for most people. Love how you've made this space your own! Hope your plants continue to thrive, and so do you.

Your apartment you are leaving is nicely put together and it is neat and tidy. I do love your plant selection. I wonder how you keep them so healthy and the leaves so healthy and keep the shine to them. Hope you move went well.

As I am retired now, I downsized from a large 2 bedroom to a small one bedroom that is referred to as a studio apt. I have 2 closets but no doors so put up curtains. I also have the same shower curtain as yours and grey towels🙂
I enjoy watching studio/small apt. vlogs to get decor advice.

you could put some tension rods up with cute little curtains to cover your kitchen cabinets if you dont like them open. i would personally put some kind of macrame curtains up...... something like that

A cute space for not a bad price, per today's standards! It made me think back to 1981 when I shared a small 2 BR 1 BA house in Norfolk VA with a friend and I think the rent on the house came in for less than $150 each. But the point was that it's a typical young women's space, and I wouldn't mind living there if I was alone, it's a good space.

I love it. Such a cute space. Good use of space, decor, and furniture choice's. I love the stool as an end table, very creative, great idea. If it's you keep it. NY❤

It's hard to get a sense of the studio because everything is close cropped, but as the camera panned around I saw that your kitchen appears to be in a corridor. I know you live in a major, metropolitan city but I feel that the rent is high considering it's rent controlled.

    • @erinhaar
      @erinhaar  11 місяців тому +4

Yep, the kitchen is in the front entryway! And this kind of space is just what you get in a major city right now with inflation... but I love living in DC, so it's worth it to me. To each their own!

Not at all! I shared a 1 bedroom apartment with another person (we converted it into a two bedroom kinda space) back in 2018 for like $1600 EACH. To have any studio apartment for under $1800 in the city right now is lucky! Mostly because anything under $1800 is probably rent controlled or has issues with it. I have a general idea of where she lives from her description and can confirm it’s close to everything she probably enjoys (nightlife, social life, parks, museums, etc.) and the metro. So good for her!!

That's cheaper and in much better shape than my studio apartment in Downtown St. Pete.

Woah, you were paying that much for a tiny studio further North of Adams Morgan and it didn't even include all utilities? 😬
I wish that I had seen some of your videos before you got your new apartment because I would have told you what buildings to keep an eye on for available units and gotten you something really great in a better, more central neighborhood.
You probably could have even taken over my old lease when i mived last summer. My rent had just been raised at that point undee rent control, 486 sq ft studio just down the street from Woodley Park Metro at $1515/mo including all utilities.
Maybe I should be doing some videos for people on how to find good deals. 😅🙈

Don’t know how you do it. Cramped in downtown DC. A n extra few hundred doubles or 2.5s your space just outside the area.

Not really much of a tour, more a here’s my stuff tour - no offence but it would be better to see more of the whole room and less of you talking in front of things.
