We're an art supply company, but we just had to comment on the creativity in this project! There is a lot of crossover between art and craft techniques and cooking- artists often carry their talents and ideas into the the kitchen. This was so much fun to watch, and yes, we are now going to go stuff ourselves with cookies.
I'm on the hook for a few hundred unique cookies for a golf tournament. You've given me a great inspiration for enhancing the event. Thank you. Have you a recipe page to print-out?
Hi, John! For the basic dough recipe, you can click on the link in the video description. From there you can add whatever additional colors you'd like. -👩🍳Kat
Hi, Marion! We haven't tested this recipe with coconut oil. A plant-based butter would likely yield a better outcome, as coconut oil may cause them to spread quickly, diminishing the design. Let us know if you give them a try! -🍮Nicole
@@KingArthurBakingCompany Thank you!! I made the first batch last night ~ they look really cute!! More batches to make today ~ one will be the chocolate dough!! I have already cut out lots of little shapes from the first batch of dough, so it should go quicker. Thanks for sharing such a great idea!!
Hi there! The tip for making a chocolate dough is at the bottom of the recipe page! I'll also share it here: "To make a chocolate version of this roll-out cookie dough: Reduce the all-purpose flour to 3 3/4 cups (450g) and add 1/4 cup (22g) of black cocoa. (Any unsweetened, Dutch-processed cocoa will work, but depending on what is used, the color of the dough will vary.) Whisk the cocoa in with the dry ingredients and mix dough together as normal; no other changes are needed." We hope this can help and happy baking! -👩🍳Morgan

Hi there! Just replace a small amount of your flour with black cocoa powder. -👩🍳Kat
How many I apply as a cooking artist?
Hi Leigh! Could you clarify your question? Kindly, -👩🍳Morgan
I replaced 1/2 flour with the same amount of cocoa powder and was pleased with the taste, next time I will try 2/3 cup cocoa powder.
This looks so fun! I'm not a fan of shortening. Could coconut oil be used instead? Thank you.

So fun!! Making this today
Yes many years ago - Tabloid Cookies is what they were called.
Question: the cream cheese cookies recipe has a glaze with it. Do we glaze these printed cookies or will that hide the designs?
The glaze would cover the design, but you could certainly play with adding a drizzle if you wanted! -👩🍳Kat

Where do I find the Baker's Tip for using black cocoa to make a chocolate dough? There's only a tip for glazing.
