Trying to decide between this and the Foldsack No.1 and this is by far the best, most comprehensive review of either so thank you! Can't say I'm any nearer a decision but really appreciate your review and the level of detail
I have the large one in black . I use it when I travel because it fits under the airplane seats and I can tighten down the straps to make it a little less tall. I use it all the time now. It's a great pack. Good job on the review!
I have the Fjallraven Abisko 35 and have used it extensively up in the Scottish highlands and it has never let me down, it's tough and durable and very comfortable, although women can wear them too these packs are designed to take a battering.
Gotta say my experience with Fjallraven has been amazing so far, though I've only bought their clothing. My wool jacket, my down jacket, some shorts, a couple of pants, t-shits, sweaters, all great and very durable
As it is stated bellow by @George DEFINED himself that the backpack in the review is actually the 30L (large) version, I want to share my experience with the 20L (medium) version I recently bought. My work Lenovo P52 laptop is able to fit in the laptop sleeve in the back. As it is very chunky 15'' machine, I was almost not expecting that and was worried that I will have to return the backpack and get the larger version but it is absolutely fine in the end. The rest of the things said in this review apply also for the 20L version.
Thanks for the review! I've been looking at this for a month now. I wasn't sure if it was small enough to bring on a plane. It looks like it might be. I'm glad your video popped up when I searched it because it gave me a little better perspective of it's true size. Thanks 👍
Solid review! I've been using Fjallraven products for a long time and you're not wrong, the features might be lacking in some areas but when you get your hands on one of their packs, you just get it. Cheers!
The whole ethos of Fjallraven seems to be "Keep it simple". Their stuff may not be molle on all sides with super high tech materials but you know they won't fall apart at the seams which is what i want. I'm a big Anti-tacticool guy, hate anything that screams "3 tours abroad" with molle, camo and all the other useless tat for EDC.
great review, thanks. was about to buy, like the backpack, but thanks to your vid I found the airflow is not so good on the back and the straps too narrow for my needs.
Lol. I thought it was also an awesome looking bag. But because I thought it was more of a female focused brand, I skipped out on buying it. I might reconsider now. Thanks man.
Gilberto Castro it’s an outdoor brand Fjällräven has been doing it for decades since the 1960s! Outdoor backpacks and clothing for men and women. Don’t be ignorant, be smart, educate your self, just because everybody does or says one thing doesn’t mean it’s true, and doesn’t mean you have to follow.
Great video - the way you described it, it was like I was handling it, looking at everything the feel, the stitching, flaps and zips. You were thorough! Almost want to buy one now. Lol! Cheers!
Ya they have a smaller one called the foldsack no. 1 made with the G1000 fabric too. It is smaller and does not have the tie top. This though might be a game changer.
Ended up here from Greenland. Looking for a bag that dont have zippers that may break, out in the wilderness or where ever I am. Getting this bag, thanks to your good presentation. Had a dilemma of choosing this bag or the No. 21 bag. Still not shure though. Anyway, thanks for your thoughts of this bag.
Fjallravens g1000 is known for being breathable until you wax it so you can choose wear you want waterproofing or breath ability then when you want to start over just was it in 40c to wash the wax out I own a ton of Fjallraven jackets from the Greenland no1 down to the Greenland jacket to the skogso padded and the regular skogso and the sten, and also the Greenland wool jackets Vidda pro wool jacket, so I’m very familiar with g1000 and I own a ton of pants and sweater the keb trouser the vidda pro pants, their brand it meant to mimic the early 50’s and 60’s mountaineering gear plus waxing materialslast way longer than treating materials with chemicals but basically I was trying to say that this material breathes extremely well and when it gets wet with sweat or water it will dry extremely fast.
I guess it's not made for professionals with expensive laptops if the back is like that, more like school bag or something trendy, but then it's more expensive then raven 28 which is a awesome for professionals so I don't get it .. as a product placement
Ive been stalking all of your videos as I need a Doula Bag for attending all of my births. Kept coming on here anytime I found one I liked JUST to see what you had to say!
Not feeling that bag at all.... Maybe use an Admin insertable panel in that front zipper location. Would definitely have to use bright colored packing cubes for organizing. Hey just got a Pacsafe backpack for the trips to unfriendly locations. Hey I’m shouting for a ride on that boat...
Hey Marrngtn, There is ALWAYS ONE! lol Really this pack may not suit some folks but I can see why some really like it. Great materials and style! The function is just okay. What Pacsafe did you pick up? The boat review is coming soon. I got some packs I got to do first tho.. I'm going to troll for some stripers this week, weather permitting.

Over two years later and still a great review. Thank you man!

If a Scot says it's tough, that's good enough for me.
Gotta say my experience with Fjallraven has been amazing so far, though I've only bought their clothing. My wool jacket, my down jacket, some shorts, a couple of pants, t-shits, sweaters, all great and very durable
Awesome review! Thank you for your work. It helped a lot!! 🙏🏼
Thanks for the review! Just one question which one would you choose, this fjallraven or carhartt wip philis?
Great balanced review. Really helps. Thank you!
A great and detailed review bro!

Hey Gilberto, I did too.. Until I saw a guy on the train with this one and I was like THAT'S FOR MAN! See ya ✌🏾

I have been thinking about this bag or the foldsack. Choice choice....
Foldsack?

I recommend to you check out Burton backpacks. A lot of their bags are a similar material and all have a lifetime warranty.
I'm going to look for those Burton packs! See ya

is this the 20L or 30L pack?
He said 20L
I did say 20 liters but this is the large so it's 30L. My bad and thanks for pointing it out. See ya

Not feeling that bag at all....
Maybe use an Admin insertable panel in that front zipper location.

Hey just got a Pacsafe backpack for the trips to unfriendly locations.
Hey I’m shouting for a ride on that boat...

just for girls? what does that mean?
Not designed for girls, was designed in the 70’s to stop back problems in school children from carrying their books for miles to and from school
Too long winded dude!
