Just a tip. If you're heating wax on a stove, then monitor it. Never leave it unattended because if you have even a tiny amount of wax set on fire from the heat from the stove, and you put even a little amount of water in it then the fire will make a mushroom cloud looking thing and fill up your entire kitchen and maybe some other rooms with just fire.

  • @77huss

You don't have to boil the wax, just melt it enough to pour. Great idea, I will definitely use!

I'd like to see a way to get airflow up through the flute holes in the corrugated board then light it you may get a hotter flame with airflow to the fire .

Should "double boil" the wax to prevent a flair up. Put water in first pan, put another pan inside that one with wax in it. Heat the water and the heat will transfer to the wax pan. Then it won't be sizzling hot when you pour it>

We made these in school when i was in grade 5. We used a large 3L tomato ketchup can or similar can with one end removed and put holes around the side of the closed end for vents. light the burner and put the open end of the large can over and used the closed end as a cook top for a pot, or cooked right on the top.

I make these with my candle ends and I use them to help start pirates campfires while camping or when we lose power in the winter to cook with on the grill. mine last about 45 minutes to 2 hours each of non stop cooking depending on the can size and how tight the cardboard is rolled. it doesn't work as well with cardboard that doesn't have those divit things. it has to have the pockets inside the cardboard to work well.

I have a good trick, you can open a tuna can and cover it with a few strips of toilet paper, you then soak the middle piece in the oil and leave the corners of the paper dry, you then ignite the corners and it will give you a burn between 20 to an hour+ depending on the type of oil and a few other factors, at the end when it goes out you will be left with cooked tuna which tastes great, you can also do this without the tuna I guess, good luck!

That's the wrong way to burn candles. Usually the right way, is to have two pans, one with water and smaller one which goes inside the water. That way the chemicals doesn't burn off, and the melting temperature doesnt make it get screwed.

Take natural clay instead of cans! It's safer (which doesn't mean you can't start wildfires with it), environmentally friendlier and fancier. The result should be a nice, longlasting candle you propably don't want to cook on.
