Definitely needs this, also just some one on one or smaller teams tourneys so you don't keep shot by archers in the middle of a good fight. This game is awesome!!
I bought this game on the recommendation of a friend. It's a lot of casual fun with decent strategy and gameplay that's hard to master because of the chaos of it all. It'd compare it to Battlefield meets Battlefront (heroes mode) meets For Honour. Big team battles with sword fighting that's easy to pick up, but hard to master. I like that you can "feint" by switching your attacks mid-way through, and how there are several types of blocking all with their own advantage. The fights where you get outnumbered and actually win are exhilerating. And the mini modes are decent at keeping the swarms of combatants together. If you're looking for a pallet cleanser, this is it.
I'm having a really good time with this game. There are some issues with party making where the game literally won't send party invites without everyone restarting the game. I also hope we get more maps as time goes on as it does feel like it could get old quick with how few there are right now. But overall, the gameplay is fun and I can't get enough of it.
This was a really helpful Before You Buy. I was on the fence about this game because of Mordhau. It was just to serious for what i was looking for. I think this looks like a much better fit. Thanks Jake!!!

Game is def worth it on sale. Been playing it for three months and it’s great. Lots of content has been added since launch and they still update the game every couple of months. Full crossplay parties is coming next I think. Def recommend if you’re on PC, series X/S, or PS5. From the gameplay I’ve seen on old gen it runs at or below 30fps as expected. Other than that, the game is a blast, I hope they keep on adding maps/weapons.
This is honestly one of the best games I’ve played in a really long time , me and my friends have such a blast getting lost in the medieval battles it’s so good
KC:D tried to be as realistic as possible. The result was great albeit clunky at times (especially against multiple foes). Chivarly is just mindless fun with No real intent to be realistic. I get what you are saying although I am happy we have both titles, each with their own play style.
8:00 can’t wait for Voice chat to be inserted into the game so it can be play seriously, Insert holdfast meme. Trust me if there is in game voice chat it will be just like holdfast voice chat.
I love this game. Booted it uo for the first time last Friday. And my knights already level 20. I enjoy the realism of this game. It there's no magic, no taking batista/catapult hits and being fine. Just team work, strategy, and good plays. Its all you need
I don’t know if the lobby I was with all night contributed but I bought it last night and it’s honestly the most fun I’ve had with a game in YEARS. From actual exciting combat moments to just memeing around with everyone. It’s got enough for the time being but I would love to see more unique sieges, which they probably will add with time. Maybe also a bit better of a auto balancing; like taking volunteers with a offer of extra match xp before just forcing someone to swap. Feels bad making a huge play on the objective just to get swapped and pretty much screwed yourself.
This game has a ton of great bones and core features. If the developers regularly update, it could really be a masterpiece. I’m already hooked after a day!
I never played Chiv1 but started with Mordhau when it first came out and must say that this game is not as technical. That’s also a really good thing if you just want to have a freaking blast! I sometimes crave the technical 1v1 battle of Mordhau but it can be very frustrating if you go on a bad streak. They both have their strengths! The cool thing about Chiv2 is that it’s A LOT easier to 2v1, 3v1 or hell even 5v1 peeps!! There are far more ‘Braveheart’ moments in this game and it’s just a straight up blast. *side note: if you’re good at Mordhau, you’ll be exceptionally good at this game. You can always tell who has played Mordhau on the battlefield when you encounter other players*
First enlisted and now this. I love how the power of next gen has allowed the console community to play these massive scale games. So excited for mine to finish installing
Just got it when it came out a couple days ago on steam, it’s a blast! Some guy stopped my spear charge by throwing a chicken at me, decapitated me, then picked up my head and threw it at my teammate lol funnest multiplayer game I’ve played in a long time!
one of my favourite things so far in chivalry 2 is that if you're using the "squire boy" and are on a killstreak, he'll scream "IT'S MY FIRST DAY!!!" 😂
Disagree with the "ganging up" premise. Yes sometimes you can defend against 2 or 3 people but majority of the time you will have four dudes just hitting you until your stamina runs out and you can't do anything about it. Also you can't turn away and run because there's no dedicated sprint button.
I'm pretty sure clicking the left thumbstick is sprint but it takes a few seconds to build up to the special abilities like tackle. Or sprint just builds normally holding forward. Maybe.
Yeah this is kinda true, but it's still possible to fend off some of them with blocking and dodging, and maybe throwing in a quick jab/kick. Not easy, but possible
This game, based upon combat, does not seem like one I would play. But I love the whole concept of it. Just bought the on sale special edition due to your video review and the comments. I am actually excited to see what this game has to offer. Thanks for changing my perspective y’all, I’ll probably update this comment after I’ve sunk some hours into it.
@@danielspaniel4873 oh sorry, not a fan at all. The combat can be really annoying and the blocking/parry mechanic is stupid. My brother likes the game but I pretty much have touched the game maybe 5 times and that’s generous. Some people may like it and I can respect that, but for me, hate it.
@@danielspaniel4873 I mean I enjoy for honor as it is a more balanced experience, blocks, parries and deflects actually work. In Chivalry, someone attacks and can instantly go into block, no buffer time which makes it stupidly unrealistic. I’ve even had it where attacks that looked like they hit didn’t or were blocked. Broken gameplay…frustrating.
I sat on the big rock throne in one of the castles as an entire war was happening in the throne room, one of the enemies came up to me and stared and i used the "yer mum" chat and said "Give it the best you got. I won't just lay down and take it, like yer mum" he walked away, that's enough to buy it.
The skill gap seems relatively low, not much you need to learn other than swinging your sword and blocking at the right time lol. You'd have to have a really small brain to not get it in the first few hours.
Mordhau is soul crushing and the only people who play it anymore are the gods and greats. Really excited for a less sweaty knight game, I loved the original chivalry :)
I just picked up a copy at Walmart for the PS4 for $15 plus tax. It had a free upgrade for the PS5. So, I too, am truly having fun with this game. I am glad that I decided to purchase it.
Played it last night on my roommates console and its fun! There is a lot of room for growth and potential, like you said with the more maps/modes, cosmetics, etc, tons of room for more of that stuff which i hope they implement! I think a few tweeks are needed with some of the mechanics and overall responsiveness. If they can do all of this with some updates, it will be an amazing game with a long life span

This is basically battlefront 2 or for honor or something but it looks dope though
Yeah, i joked to myself about each new release of sports games are basically $70 updates. CoD doesnt seem too different, but thats a messy subject.
@@PatternLand it's a different style than for honor
I watched this before buying and I had fun playing it and you should get it if you like large scale medieval battles
It's definitely time for re look at the game.. there's a bunch of new maps, modes and things of all sorts.
If someone sees this video, and doesn't know there's alot of new stuff, it could be a factor
im really on the fence about it. I tried banner lords multiplayer and I got hooked to the style. I'm wanting something where I can just jump in. this looks like it.
Hoping for a jousting tournament with horses and everything
Definitely needs this, also just some one on one or smaller teams tourneys so you don't keep shot by archers in the middle of a good fight. This game is awesome!!
Devs have confirmed that horses are being worked on
@@VampKain696 sweet!
Problem with horses is people might become horses archers and that will be annoying
@@Matthewgriffiths18 maybe they could take archers out for balancing reasons
Who's here after the PS Plus leak came out ? 😅
finna go crazy 💀😤
I love the fact that I watch theses videos after I buy the game while I'm like loging in to it
I bought this game on the recommendation of a friend.
I played age of chivalry it was released in 2007. This is the best game released in the last 10 years, a must buy, almost the only thing I play.
Thanks Jake!!!
thanks!!!
Lol a year later and its the same try hard lame game that punishing twords new players. Not fun in the slightest
@@laughs150 disagreed, I got the game on March, I'm now rank 70 and can hold my own against level 300+ players, even made some ragequit sometimes, granted I did own chivalry 1 and mordhau which i played for 350 and 220 hours respectively, but still you can improve over time and get good
@@LKeyYT i guess i left the most important part i play on console and it blows. Anyway its from my experience. Without a doubt people enjoy it the aspect of the game is cool. Just from reading reviews tho im not the only person from console that has this view.
The thing that made me laugh the hardest was the "I soiled myself, But nobody care's" Warcry
Mine was "Doth thou even hoist?"
@@rime4455 Hahaha that is serious immersion right there.
"You can miss a limb and keep fighting for a bit"
"This but a flesh wound!"
"A flesh wound!? You arms off!!!!"
"I've had worse"
This is honestly one of the best games I’ve played in a really long time , me and my friends have such a blast getting lost in the medieval battles it’s so good
This is how i wanted kingdom come deliverance combat lol
KC:D tried to be as realistic as possible. The result was great albeit clunky at times (especially against multiple foes).
Chivarly is just mindless fun with No real intent to be realistic.
I get what you are saying although I am happy we have both titles, each with their own play style.
No
8:00 can’t wait for Voice chat to be inserted into the game so it can be play seriously, Insert holdfast meme.
Played the free trial for a couple of hours. It’s great.
Brawl mode is hilarious. My stomach and cheeks hurt from laughing.
This game is so damn fun, literally haven't had this much fun in a game for years
The beta was a blast, i plan on picking up the full game. I just hope they add in horde mode 🤞
9:30 - a nice dueling there
Thank god it was free with PS+. That's all there really is to say about this one
This game has a ton of great bones and core features. If the developers regularly update, it could really be a masterpiece. I’m already hooked after a day!
3:59 Jake has a lot experience “squaring off” against 4 dudes. 😂
Juvenile humor. I remember when I was 12
I just started playing the other day and even though I only average 1-4 kills per life but I've been having a blast.
I want to start a petition to add the battle cry into every game made from here on out.
First enlisted and now this. I love how the power of next gen has allowed the console community to play these massive scale games. So excited for mine to finish installing
Enlisted sorta sucks though sadly
Yeah I'm glad I can play with my friends on xbox
Wow, I didn't even know about this game before watching. That looks like tons of fun!
Also getting a parry in gives you a chance to attack and you won't take any damage during the attack
isnt that why there is a difference between riposte and counter? During the counter if you get it, all incoming attacks are blocked.
It is possible to win against a gang you have to do perfect parrys
Star wars mods are gonna be cool af
Does it get mod support or so?
Not interested, but always appreciate Great Gaming Coverage!
You never updated it :(
@@danielspaniel4873 oh sorry, not a fan at all. The combat can be really annoying and the blocking/parry mechanic is stupid. My brother likes the game but I pretty much have touched the game maybe 5 times and that’s generous. Some people may like it and I can respect that, but for me, hate it.
@@flowdaflava6574 damn man. Youre probably just not into that style of combat or genre of games
This game is a damn good time.
It's probably gonna be great for this summer, but after that a lot of people will get bored of it and you are left with the try hards.
like every multiplayer game
Like the first one?
That’s why I’m going to pass.
The skill gap seems relatively low, not much you need to learn other than swinging your sword and blocking at the right time lol. You'd have to have a really small brain to not get it in the first few hours.
@@kassaken6521 wait until you run into the tryhards, that parry everything and can no scope with bows.
That duel at 9:29 pretty nuch sold me im buying it immediatly
Damn, Jake just straight up sold me on this. Had zero intention on looking into this game but watched the video out of boredom and now im off to Steam
Same lol
Forgot to mention that the game will have the true launch only in 2022!
I just got it on playstation plus for free today, can't wait until i get to play
Yo I’m also here because of PS+. Is the game any good if you’ve played it yet?
@@___Bandit___ Haven't played it yet but I watched a video of smii7y playing it and it looked super fun and hilarious.
@@___Bandit___ I just played it today and it's so fun. The community is awesome.
Best game of 2021 so far
The guy in blue at 8:13 LOL
Mordhau is soul crushing and the only people who play it anymore are the gods and greats. Really excited for a less sweaty knight game, I loved the original chivalry :)
I’m having trouble seeing how this isn’t mordhau it looks the same to me
@Been for real? have you tried chiv1 lately? only sweaty ppl tbh
The only negative of this game is the people who have spent everyday of their lives playing and you get killed by them 20 times, just ruins it
You can apply that logic to any game. People will get good at any game you just have to get over it and get good or keep complaining

I've put more hours into this game in 4 days, then I have any other in 3 years.
Will be buying it if it comes to steam. Nice review, it looks cool.
I just picked up a copy at Walmart for the PS4 for $15 plus tax. It had a free upgrade for the PS5. So, I too, am truly having fun with this game. I am glad that I decided to purchase it.
SOLD. I've been trying to get a similar experience to this in Skyrim, but it doesn't quite work right.
It's damn FUN I play on pc and am thinking about streaming it
@Conner rtx 2070 because all the 30 series are sold out cause of crypto miners
Played it last night on my roommates console and its fun! There is a lot of room for growth and potential, like you said with the more maps/modes, cosmetics, etc, tons of room for more of that stuff which i hope they implement! I think a few tweeks are needed with some of the mechanics and overall responsiveness. If they can do all of this with some updates, it will be an amazing game with a long life span
For playing it one time on your friends console that's quite the list of improvements you think the game needs.
