this looks so much more like a hospital than an asylum, save for the patient rooms... which was strange. and the number of deaths that week is staggering. It's different from the other asylums you have gone through, I was intrigued through the whole thing.

My dad's office was in that E-2 section. He worked there for over 30 years. I worked there for 10 (not a legit job, just helping my dad on the side. I'd also go with him regularly throughout my entire life before that). I cannot describe in words what an impact this place has had on me. It's somewhat of a beautiful magical nightmare. I'm sad I can't visit anymore. With a relatively low population during my years there, it was like this gigantic city all to myself. You can see on the map, there's a giant freight train that passes by. When I'd finish my work, I would sit in this huge tree as the sun would set, smoke some cigarettes, and watch it passing over the backdrop of fields, day after day. The place was horribly run down, but that was part of it's charm for me. I hope whatever is done with the land that I'll be able to visit it again someday!

its a place in downey California they're renovating this whole place and added on more buildings to make it a rehabilitation center its called the los amigos rehabilitation center.

Hmmm...sounds like the place in Downey that my dad was in for rehab after his racing accident. If I remember correctly it was called Los Amigos.

I'm pretty sure that white board with the tallies was just drawn by other explorers or vandals as a 'joke'. I don't see any hospital listing down deaths per week in such a 'public' manner. No professional one would list down "accidents" too with the added quotations.

If the fact that it only listed Monday through Thursday wasn't a big give away for somebody, they need to sit down and rethink their lives. Deaths don't matter Friday, Saturday, or Sunday! Party!
Actually, in some asylums they do tally down those things. My aunt works in one and although it confidentiality, she does mention they do use a whiteboard to tally down deaths and accidents on every day of the week.

Josh! If you come to Puerto Rico, in Gurabo (a small town) there is an abandoned school where i use to go. Its a prekinder to ninth grade catholic school. It opened back in the 90’s if i remember correctly. It was one of the most popular schools in Gurabo but as the years went by it got obsolete. The director of the school got sick and passed that post to a mother of one of the fourth graders. School didn’t last long because her husband molested one of the girl fourthgraders that studied with his kid. He was sent to jail and the school closed after that. Im pretty sure that a lot of the stuff are still there like untouched. If you ever go, bring a bobby pin so you can pick lock the locks on the doors because they are very old and are that easy to open. (I would do it when i was in sixth grade). The name is the school is Colegio Catolico Nuestra Señora Del Pilar
When you do hospitals, especially with power, I all ways worry your going to go into a MRI room when in the x-ray department. Stay out of MRI with all the camera equipment.

If I remember correctly, if the MRI machine isn't active, it won't harm the cameras.
What if you guys carried a black light with you? You usually end up finding a morgue or something morbid in these types of settings. It would be interesting. This video was awesome- definitely intense because of the custodial workers, they probably heard you all running around and thought they were hearing ghosts lol

MaDiSoN mIlLeR Black light doesn't show blood, but other body fluids will show up. You need luminol for the blood to show up.
They DID find the morgue without a black light. And yea, you need the luminol to react with the iron in the blood for it to be fluorescent.

I worked down the street from this hospital, and its always been a bit of a mystery. The local junior college I went to, they would send their Psych Tech students there to learn and there were ALWAYS stories about it being super haunted. They closed it down due to low capacity, and it has been recently handed over to the local polytechnic university for redevelopment. I'm really surprised you got in, and I would have loved to see a little bit more, especially some drone shots!

4:45 made me smile. One of the things i LOVE about josh’s channel is that hes real. He sees the red stuff and doesnt freak out going “OMG GUYS LOOK I FOUND BLOOD” and coming up with a whole story. Instead he chuckles and goes “its some sort of candy or food dye” and then later he sees the cupboard at like 4:47 that the cupboard might have had scissors instead of going “woah i bet this was used for like holding heads and stuff” god i love this channel.

The blood and bodily fluids just drain down the table, into the sink, and down the drain. This goes into the sewer, like every other sink and toilet, and (usually) goes to a water treatment plant. I had to google it this is where the blood goes, was curious myself. Love your videos Josh I am a new fan thank you for sharing!!

I love all your abandoned asylums and hospitals.. because it’s amazing how it can become when it’s left behind, there’s a old big market not so far away that collapsed during a storm.. it was left abandoned, then there’s a Baylor hospital that was abandoned and shut down February 2018 but the top floor is still opened

Just so you know the main reason mortuaries are kept in basements is because heat rises and it means less energy is used to keep the chambers at whatever temperature they are kept at depending on whether they are a positive temperature mortuary or a cold temperature mortuary. Great video as well keep up the good work
No MRI? Magnetic Resonance Imaging has been a diagnostic tool since the 1980s. I expected to see one in the X-ray department. They do not freeze bodies. In the morgue, that's a 'chiller', a refrigerator. Freezing would destroy the cell structure.

Not to sound cheap but $37usd is like $47canadian, I've never paid that much for a t-shirt. The only reason I might is because I appreciate the travel to all the great locations and content plus entertainment. But still 47 for a t😭😭😭
