I actually have the Linux hacking for beginners. But like many projects I start, I never finish it haha. I got up to booting up my pi but I never managed to get it to run the OS so I gave up. Maybe someday I can give it another shot!
Penetration Testing book is out of date and a lot of the tools don't work right anymore. Needs an updated version but was great read when working.
Best book I recommend is
"The basics of Hacking And Penetration Testing:2nd edition" by Patrick Engebretson
I would suggest also Black Hat hacking with Python if they made a newer edition because it also suffers tools and codes that no longer work
Hey there! I am going to pick up a copy of the book you recommend. I still find Penetration Testing to be a good resource. Georgia Weidman is currently working on the next addition of the book.
I really LOVE Black Hat Python, I'm currently working through that one for reference in some upcoming Python videos.

I haven't figured out how to solve the solutions in Black Hat Python book at a certain point, how do you work through it when some of the examples don't work?

One of the books I just bought and follow the author on twitter is called " Basic Security Testing with Kali Linux" third edition from Daniel Dieterle. He has a good book and it working on pentesting all the time and new project in Linux. his twitter is @cyberArms

heyy haii, i checked those books u have suggested mostly those books seems to be old.( Penetration Testing- A Hands on Introduction to Hacking ) dont have 2nd edition. the techniques seems to be old. how to scope up with is old books.. any suggestions ??
Hello Sanjay! Alli here- Yes, Penetration Testing by Weidman is an older resource. You'll find it is still one of the most recommended books for learning penetration testing. If you want something a little more recent, I have heard good things about Lester Evans' "Cyber Security" (amzn.to/2McRwa1). However, I haven't read that one myself, so I can't speak to it's relevance. I am currently working through some of the newer recommended books on hacking and I hope to update this list as I go. Hope this helps!

There are a ton of really great books on Cyber Security. I would suggest reading some general information security books to learn about all the different fields within it. Cyber Security: An Essential Guide to Computer and Cyber Security for Beginners by Lester Evans is a good overview of parts of infosec(Information Security)
Cyber Security for Beginners by Raef Meeuwisse is also a good beginner step. Once you have a specific area of interest, a whole other world of books open up for you!
All of these and even some free pdfs can be found online, just a google search away!
What's your opinion on "hacking - the art of exploration" by Jon Erickson?? I am experienced programmer of C,C++. Hacking was always fascinating subject for me though I am beginner in it.
It's a great book and I highly recommend it!

I actually never got my hands on Hacker Playbook 2. But it is on my list of books to read as the information is still useful. Hoping to get around to it in the next month or so.
