He did a great job of representing himself in this interview. That's why I've always respected Manson. He always knew exactly what he was trying to accomplish with the extreme nature of his art. It wasn't only about being shocking or trying to subversive. He was trying to express what the world really needed to see and needed to learn to accept about its own darker nature. He wasn't an agent of hatred, but was artistically trying to reflect the hatred of society back to itself. There was a Jungian element to what he was trying to reflect, and American society was kind of lost in a propagandist dream world at the time. And he respectfully recognized and and gave due credit to the people who he knew eere inevitably gonna push back on that. That's a level of class and sophistication that's very rare.
Considering he's still hooked on drugs, having a heart disease, I'd say he looks awesome now for his age. Remember he's not in his 30s anymore, sadly :(
I find it hard to think of one song on the radio today I would deem remotely erotic: compare any CardiB or Sabrina Carpenter to, for example, The Rolling Stone's Beast of Burden and, sure, no wonder everyone was constantly shagging in the 70s and apparently we're not doing much of that.
“I lost my virginity at 16 so there’s my inspiration to you. And I would’ve tried sooner but I couldn’t get a girls to like me” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 My god this guy is so legit, I love him dude 🤣🤣🤣
I saw Manson at a CLUB in Philly in 95/96. Small stage but an amazing show. Baby mobiles hanging from the ceiling... baby dolls hanging from wooden Xs 😂. The first time I ever heard "I am the god of fuck..."
I met him in Bagram AFB, Afghanistan of all places, 2008. I was an a10 warthog crew chief and I was doing an inspection when he came walking up with a couple of our pilots, who were giving him a little private tour. To be honest, I had absolutely no idea who he was at the time until I came back home, but I thought he was a genuinely nice guy. Of all of the places to be in the world, he chose to visit our dangerous shithole in the middle of nowhere to shake our hands. I always respected him for that.
Most people don't know he became a superstar, from nothing. Didn't read music or play an instrument. Woke up one day said im gonna be a rockstar. Pretty much how it happened... right?
not really i was in middle school when marilyn manson came out i remember all the interviews, this is REMASTERED DONT LISTEN TO IT OR N E THING REMASTERED PPL THAT MEANS THERE FABRICATED ABOUT THIS PERSON,,, HE IS A GOOD PERSON JUST MISUNDERSTOOD DUE TO LACK OF PPLS KNOWLEDGE AND TWISTING OF PPL OUT OF THERE OWN ISSUES.
This is the greatest comment in the history of UA-cam. I'm unsure if this idiotic rambling about remastering music "MEANS THERE FABRICATED ABOUT THIS PERSON" is trolling or the most artistic representation of such things, the next stage of human evolution, or simply was typed out on a Nokia 3310. We as a people don't deserve an answer, and therein lies the art.
The government dose has so many more sinister acts going on behind the curtains,..and yet and this guy is focused on a pop artist who radically expresses himself on stage . This pop artists is not my cup of tea, however they were saying the bands of the 60s were influencing drugs ..and so forth... Mainstream society has a very narrow prospective if they are ti worry about this pop artists vs. the influences of today's social media etc.

I remember back when I watched this on youtube, something like 10 years ago? I was a teenager at the time and I really hated Bill O'Reilly. Boy, how times have changed lol. I never realized how much of a pretentious tool Marilyn Manson was. While everyone should be accountable for their own actions and not the actions of others, I can't help but wonder if people freaking out about this stuff back then, had a point. As many other commenters have mentioned, Marilyn Manson is absolutely tame in comparison to what we have nowadays. Not even mentioning the fact that it is absolutely having a negative effect on people, especially kids.
Could you expand on what you're trying to say? I'm sorry but the notion that Marilyn Manson was/is inherently harmful or that he had a uniquely negative impact on impressionable audiences, particularly when compared to modern media, is an oversimplification that doesn't hold up under closer scrutiny. His entire career arc and music has always had a potent message that is far greater than what is portrayed from a third person perspective. Also the claim that modern entertainment is definitively “worse” and “absolutely having a negative effect on people, especially kids,” is speculative and fails to acknowledge that cultural anxieties simply shift targets over time. Every era has its supposed “corrupting influences,” whether it’s rock music, rap lyrics, violent video games, or social media trends. Manson has done a net positive in the grand scheme of things. He challenged social norms and provoked society to question rigid moral and aesthetic boundaries, and he provided many young listeners who felt alienated or misunderstood with a sense of community, understanding, and validation through his music.

That’s because he is ten times smarter than the tool interviewer
Marilyn Manson is the man.
brian warner is the man ! 😊
It is a woman
Nah, just a rapist bro. Sorry to burst your bubble, the ‘cool’ guy who wears make up is, surprise, surprise, a scumbag!
Minus the tremendous abuse he’s inflicted
Marylin Manson has a beautiful appearance. A true rock star. I'm lucky to see u perform in concert.
How ya feeling about him now?
I feel like i grown up listening to marylin manson. I still and and will always be a huge fan!
Love that an artist so demonized by angry parents was always so genuinely concerned about parents listening to their kids and raising them right.
This aged like fine wine. Turns out he was demonized……….RIGHTLY! He raps grills
His interview style is very calm & collected, his opposition comes off unhinged.
Man, this was the height of Manson's beauty, he was so beautiful here !!!!!
He's still a good looking man despite the drug/alcoholism!
@@ComradeTrotsky1017 or maybe, because of it 🤔? Of course not.
@@ComradeTrotsky1017 he's been sober for 3+ years now and looking better than he's looked in the last 15 years.

😂😂😂😂
He doesn't like gay people too much.
Not really, he was just more sophisticated, he used subtext and symbolism, but the message was potent.
This guy Is just awesome for sitting threw this enteview and not walking out. His music is not for children. Cartoons are for that.
Ya, it's always been "why are you poisoning the mind of out children?" It should be; man, sir, "why the F are you letting your child listen to Mason?"
That hat he used to wear is sick man.
I wonder if O'Reilly would have the balls to ask the Pope any of these questions.
Great upscale!
Wow this is crazy to see in high definition after all these years
Man I never knew what a legend he is or was. I woulda been a fan if he was in my time
You can still be a fan now!
He's amazing. He was years ago as well
