    He did a great job of representing himself in this interview. That's why I've always respected Manson. He always knew exactly what he was trying to accomplish with the extreme nature of his art. It wasn't only about being shocking or trying to subversive. He was trying to express what the world really needed to see and needed to learn to accept about its own darker nature. He wasn't an agent of hatred, but was artistically trying to reflect the hatred of society back to itself. There was a Jungian element to what he was trying to reflect, and American society was kind of lost in a propagandist dream world at the time. And he respectfully recognized and and gave due credit to the people who he knew eere inevitably gonna push back on that. That's a level of class and sophistication that's very rare.

      I met him in Bagram AFB, Afghanistan of all places, 2008. I was an a10 warthog crew chief and I was doing an inspection when he came walking up with a couple of our pilots, who were giving him a little private tour. To be honest, I had absolutely no idea who he was at the time until I came back home, but I thought he was a genuinely nice guy. Of all of the places to be in the world, he chose to visit our dangerous shithole in the middle of nowhere to shake our hands. I always respected him for that.

I'm unsure if this idiotic rambling about remastering music "MEANS THERE FABRICATED ABOUT THIS PERSON" is trolling or the most artistic representation of such things, the next stage of human evolution, or simply was typed out on a Nokia 3310. We as a people don't deserve an answer, and therein lies the art.

This pop artists is not my cup of tea, however they were saying the bands of the 60s were influencing drugs ..and so forth...
    Mainstream society has a very narrow prospective if they are ti worry about this pop artists vs. the influences of today's social media etc.

    I remember back when I watched this on youtube, something like 10 years ago? I was a teenager at the time and I really hated Bill O'Reilly.
    Boy, how times have changed lol. I never realized how much of a pretentious tool Marilyn Manson was.
    While everyone should be accountable for their own actions and not the actions of others, I can't help but wonder if people freaking out about this stuff back then, had a point. As many other commenters have mentioned, Marilyn Manson is absolutely tame in comparison to what we have nowadays. Not even mentioning the fact that it is absolutely having a negative effect on people, especially kids.

    • @MadlockGilani
      @MadlockGilani 11 днів тому +1

      Could you expand on what you're trying to say? I'm sorry but the notion that Marilyn Manson was/is inherently harmful or that he had a uniquely negative impact on impressionable audiences, particularly when compared to modern media, is an oversimplification that doesn't hold up under closer scrutiny. His entire career arc and music has always had a potent message that is far greater than what is portrayed from a third person perspective.
      Also the claim that modern entertainment is definitively “worse” and “absolutely having a negative effect on people, especially kids,” is speculative and fails to acknowledge that cultural anxieties simply shift targets over time. Every era has its supposed “corrupting influences,” whether it’s rock music, rap lyrics, violent video games, or social media trends.
      Manson has done a net positive in the grand scheme of things. He challenged social norms and provoked society to question rigid moral and aesthetic boundaries, and he provided many young listeners who felt alienated or misunderstood with a sense of community, understanding, and validation through his music.
