Nik isn’t a youngster anymore, and he’s been enchanted by the freedom that is America, and likely the warmth of both a woman and Florida.
It was nice knowing him and seeing fun metal things while it lasted. He will be doing fun pop things soon enough.
There's no goofing around anymore metal things got serious.
The instrumental is louder then vocals
But song is beautiful
Common issue with his songs, to varying degrees. I get that he's an instrumental guy, but a more even balance would be greatly appreciated.

Tbf though, Evanescence is like that as well. As much as Amy Lee is the star of the band, her vocals tend to take a backseat

Vocals definitely buried. Not inaudible, but could be a bit more on the top of the mix. Still fun though.
Once again something's off with the mix, happened to the last "how to metal" aswell, vocals are just gone, reduced to atoms

Heard the song on spotify the other day and was waiting for the video. I'm honestly surprised Violet wasn't reached for vocals since she has Amy Lee's exact voice but Lindsay still does a wonderful and unique/original take on the vocals without striving to *be* Amy Lee.
I think the point of the video was to BE Amy Lee as much as possible, not to showcase your own originality. Not saying she has a bad voice because she doesn't, but it's far from Amy Lee, especially melody-wise.
Lindsay is pretty much the final boss of Evanescence fangirls though, so perfect choice. That woman is in music because of that band.

Nice video. It’s unfortunate that you didn’t include more complicated guitar riffs, cause evanescence is definitely much more than power chords in terms of guitars. Just check out Ben Moody’s guitar work on Fallen, it’s incredible

This. The guitar work on their early albums is so undervalued. That's what's so commonly missed in these Evanescence imitations and why they don't sound quite right.
Real 2003-2006 vibes here. Used to rock their first two albums a lot back in the day.
i dont really understand about mixing or anything related to that but i also think that i'm struggling to hear the vocals, both the rap and main. I was looking forward to this and i'm really hope you'll re-mix it.

That guitar tone... pure early 2000's
Absolutely beautiful track, perfect choice for a vocalist. However, hard to hear the vocals and I feel like, especially with the chorus, there needs to be a harmony added in with the melody. Not saying it doesn't sound like evanescence, but if there was more harmony, I wouldn't be able to tell that this wasn't an evanescence track. :)

The da da da da da da da riff is directly from a song from Fallen. Other attempts of Nik are way better than this imho. As a hardcore ev fan, although they made it only sound like Fallen, I find this meh. Cause somehow it also sounds like older stuff from within temptation. Mixed feelings.
