I love these convection ovens. They are so much better than those smaller air fryers, and what is great is that you can see the food while it is cooking. I have the Aroma convection oven and like it a lot!
I like your foil trick for it to fit snugly. I can never tell when meat is done, and I purchased an instant digital read thermometer, now I don't under cook or over cook my food.
Damn, loving the foil over the bowl! Realized that will work in my basket air fryer! True 'nuff the glass container is an advantage. One tip you might try to speed up the chicken, when half cooked (firm and most of all easy to slice in half, thickness-wise, I slice my chicken to half thickness, expose the interior faces up to catch the downward heat better and it cuts 5 mins. or more off the cooking time. I'll also oil and lightly season that side, since I like the flaverful outside the best. In your case, you can use the just freed up upper rack to hold the extra chicken... My current favorite seasoning is the Walmart brand Jerk Seasoning packet! yum
All THAT .... and you can COOK, TOO?!? Lucky Mrs. Taylor!!! Woohooooo! I've had a convection oven similar to yours for about 30 years now. I still use it on occasion, and I still love it. I have always loved to cook outside whenever possible. My dream is to have an outdoor kitchen with a Pioneer Princess wood cookstove. Of course, I'd be in my glory if that wood cookstove were in a log cabin on 20 wooded acres. LOL! I love dutch oven cooking, grilling with mesquite & roasting on an open fire. Last year I invested in an All American Sun Oven. I LOVE it! I can cook for FREE & it doesn't heat up what I am paying to cool down. :-D Three years ago, I made a "double burner" rocket stove with bricks. Yet another way to cook for FREE with twigs and branches that fall from my trees in the front yard. ;) I understand your reason for using aluminum foil, but I would advise you to use parchment paper instead. It's a much healthier option. I really enjoyed this video! What time is dinner? :-D
Kathleen - My dad used to cook outside with hickory chips and I still love the flavor. But they are hard to find. With all this talk about food i'm getting hungry LOL.
Must have radiant ring element not halogen!! I had one too ,,,,lasted a long time then the fan gave out about 5/6 years,,,great oven. I'm in UK the square box air fryers are selling well but I prefer glass bowl so you can see food as it cooks. I owned the first air fryer by American Harvest,,,bought it via sky one shopping channel. Great healthy eating!!!!!
Thanks! Please consider doing more videos on this. I love my Oyama turbo convection oven but I find there is not that many recipes or videos for it like there is with the NuWave.
1981lashlarue I do not have the nuWave but I would imagine that the recipes are pretty similar. Also, if you google "Air Fryer Recipes" you can find several pdf documents with more then a dozen recipes. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
Looking at the heavy duty nature of the build in cord I suspect there is a significant current draw with this device leading me to believe a typical household extension cord might over heat. If you really must use an extension cord it should be at least 16 gauge. Cheers.
I worked out what it was! Check the positions of the rubber nipples that hold the glass bowl in place. Also just pull the bowl forward (or back) and hopefully it will work quietly!
I put an aluminum pie plate at the bottom with the rack on top of it....catches 99% of the grease. I use it mostly for chicken legs and thighs. They come out perfect with most of the fat rendered off
Interesting that you say that. Perhaps from your personal experience. My experience has been that the taste does not cross over in this oven. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
Hi Adeline - I am wondering about this. Why do some people still bake their potatoes in foil??? I will have to do some more research on this. Thanks for stopping by and posting. Cheers.
@@WorkMateGuy i've read some medical articles before about aluminum and other metals causing alzheimers. Well..to make it short, there's still very little studies made and as of the ones that i read their conclusion was as the body ages, its ability to remove certain metals (which are naturally present to make our brain and the rest of the body work) decreases as we age. And so when they do some tests/biopsy, they found some level of metals in the brain that may have caused the alzheimers/dementia. To me that explanation makes sense. Will eating or using less aluminum/iron/copper etc decrease the chances of alzheimers/dementia? Maybe. Lols
@@FluffyMuffs Not maybe. There are a myriad of other health issues caused by aluminum as well, and the inability to lose weight in most Americans is one of them. I don't understand why this is an "lols," moment.
I realize this is an older thread .... but ... concerning the aluminum and heavy metal connection to alzheimers and other conditions ... may want to research the ingredients in vaxxinez ... ingested toxins are easily excreted compared to injected toxins ... May want to look up the research of Forrest Maready and "My Incredible Opinion " ... interesting information ...

Thank you so much for this video I also research now how to use this because I received a gift convection oven
Glad it was helpful!
Just got mine. Metal rim came off lid exposing the glass. Couldn't get it back on. My solution! Electrical tape!!! Works great!!
Congratulations on your new air fryer. I know you are going to enjoy using it. I use mine all the time. Cheers.
I'am Your Newest Subscriber I Bought The Same Exact Oyama Turbo Convention Oven At The Fleamarket Today I Thought It Was A AIR FRYER
Thank you so much for subscribing. Cheers!
I bought one, what did you do before you put food in it for the first time? For example you put some water in it & switched it on to sterilize itself?
Great tips!
Thanks and thanks for stopping by.

How can I clean inside the top of oven? Thanks.
Good question, I tried taking off the heating fixture with no luck. We can only clean the glass. :-(
nice oyama turbo
Hey Athao - Thanks and thanks for stopping by and commenting. Cheers.
It’s a good idea to cook for 20 minutes, flip it and 15 more minutes
A good idea, thanks for sharing! Cheers!
He cooks with foil, you got my vote!
Thanks Gregg. I like to make my clean up as easy as possible. Cheers!
Will anything bad happen if i do use an extension?

Where can I buy this turbo baked
I purchased mine on Amazon.
do you ever find the lid rattles a little bit?
Yes, mine does occasionally rattle. Most of the time I can stop it by readjusting the position. Thanks for stopping by. Cheers!
WorkMateGuy Thanks for replying. Its reassuring to know rattling is normal and not a faulty unit. Also your aluminum foil tip was extremely helpful

is this an air fryer?
Yes it is.
Does the chicken taste like fish?
Nope, the tastes does not cross over in this oven. Cheers!

I made the mistake of trying to cook a giant chicken in that the top got cooked the bottom didn't finished it off in the microwave
Yikes!
Try to turn over the chicken half way through even with chicken wings we turn it around at least once for even cooking ... have fun
How did the corn taste ? A bit fishy 😂
Not really, I have cooked the corn with both fish and chicken with different seasonings and the taste of the corn has been just right.
The L in Salmon is supposed to be silent.
render365 You must be from the North East. :-)
that was driving me crazy !!!
@@WorkMateGuy No. That is NOT how you say Salmon anywhere. Check Dictionary.com for proper enunciation.
Fine if you like your chicken to taste of fish and your cooked fish to be cold by the time the chicken is done.

You don't pronounce the L in Salmon ( Sam in)
Thank you Mistress Mars. Cheers!
I bought one in 2018 try cooking your bacon with this Oyama you will never do it any other way again.
Thanks for stopping by and commenting Dave.
Its samon
SuperCyril2 Well, it all depends on what part of the country you're from. :-)
some parts of the country say "sammin." lol
Cake
Next time.
