I’ve been the owner of an L-5 since 1980. It’s never needed any service and still sounds good. The sound signature with both vintage and current production versions of JBL L100s is nice. It’s not hyper detailed sounding and bass is not super controlled like some contemporary amplifiers. Overall, I still use it and enjoy its sound. Never gets on my nerves and that’s important to me. Thanks for showing the L-400!
Many thanks for the comment. The owner bought some different speakers that required more power and so the L-400 may be a spare for him now. To be honest, I am not sure what test I can do to test "super controlled bass" with an amp aside from frequency response. Definitely can hear it between speakers (using the same amp).

Thanks for the comment. I have not heard the L4 or tested one, and I have yet to have any Akai gear come through the door.
