My favorite film from Antoine Fuqua...he almost directed Black Panther for Marvel
Denzel was such a beast in this movie! All time favorite right along with The Equalizer
The 4K transfer looks awesome. Day one purchase for me!
This movie is a Master Class in how manipulation and gaslighting--and the need to climb and fit in--risks compromising every moral and ethic we, as normal human beings, adhere to.
It's like taking a walk with your hero, only to find out at the end he's the Devil. . .and that you've been killing along the way.
As someone who has worked in the hood for a while, what you may not notice is how authentic Alonzo is. I'm not going to get into it because of the idiotic left coast censors on many social media sites...but his behavior is a culture shock to most Americans from the "suburbs." His attitude isn't what makes him evil, it's what he does to pay the Russians back. That conversation at the diner table is pretty much normal in urban areas. Yup. Jake just wasn't used to that.
this is my favorite movie of all time especially with Ethan hawke in it he is so handsome and very talented

Never noticed before, but maybe it's the 4k, but why is Alonzo reading stock market quotes? Knowing what we know later in the movie, is it possible he was trying to sell his stocks and investments to pay back the Russians?

This is honestly one of those movies that isn't improved by 4k. I would much rather see The Terminator, Avatar, Master and Commander in 4k. Titanic too. There are a few others, can't think of them.
