Follow me on on this multi-part series as I go bikepacking from Nanaimo to Penticton (in a very round about way). In this episode I travel from Nairn Falls, just outside of Pemberton, over the Hurley Pass and camp near the Hurley River south of Bralorne, BC

Purple haze, indeed! I did not intend to copy-cat your ride, my wife gave me a ride to the campground.......Got home yesterday........rode up and out to the Terzaghi Dam, and returned. Dropping down to Pemberton Meadows, from Semaphore Lakes trailhead I had the road to myself except near the bottom, one car coming up and one quad. Crossed over the Lillooet River at dusk. Hands cramped up a bit from squeezing the brake levers. It was hot for me also. Great tunes.
Feel free to copy my rides!!!! That’s why I share them. Sounds like you had a great ride.
Enjoyed this video. Great music at the end. Breathtaking scenery. Thank you for taking the time to video and share it.
Thank you very much, glad you enjoyed it / lots more to watch.
Gorgeous views! Nice video!
Thanks a lot, I’m glad your enjoying them - more on the way :)) stay tuned ! 🤜🤛🤘
Awesome! I've been up that road couple of times, half-way only to do some hikes. Never knew it went all the way to the way down to the other side.
Over the Hurley? - yeah... goes into the Chilcotin / Bridge River area
Cool.
Thanks 😊
Jealous of the sunset around 7:08. What a nice time to descend :)
The smoke made for nice sunsets, that’s for sure. It’s was a tough climb for me. It was the first real hot days I had all summer. I found out later it was 34C that day. The 2 places I planned to wild camp had numerous vans and bonfires going.... I just cruised until I found a few suitable trees... not ideal roadside, but hey, I was too pooped to be fussy.
I would have pushed the heck out Hurley pass......Over two days:) your a machine.
I pushed way more that I expected. It's only about 12-14km, so I told myself, even if I have to walk it all, who cares. Just camp when I feel like it.
Cool beard (really I'm jealous), cool look, cool editing, Cool hills, and cool downhills
Thanks! 👍 I'm glad you are enjoying the series... more to come!
Loved your choice of 'somber' music for the climb, followed by celebratory on the way down! Cheers fromYYC
Hello there YYC / I used to live near by. Thanks for the comment 😊 - I find music selection takes a lot of time finding his the right one that sparks a personal interest and serves the mood. Glad your enjoying the vids :))
excellent capture of your adventure. now that Duzer's series has ended, i'm looking forward to your next chapter. Thank you for sharing!!!
Thanks greatly - to put me and Duzer in the same sentence is flattering :))
Cool videos dude you look to be enjoying yourself! Happy new year from Ireland!
Thanks a bunch! Happy Hollidays from Canada! Wish you, and yours all the best for 2021 🤜🏼🤛🏻🤘
Awesome video!!!!!!!!!! I love the Pemberton area! I hope to do some adventure riding down the valley next summer! The ride over the Hurley reminds me of our ride over Gray Creek pass this past summer!
Oh, hell yeah! Grey Creek pass from the west is a tough one, very similar to Hurley, but 3km longer. I “think” similar grade average over the duration and that extra 3km give you a little extra elevation to boot. Either way, those are are a tough grind when loaded to 70-80lbs. (And with me, a few extra cinnamon buns on the waist)
Purple Haze
Purple haze, all around ~ Don't know if I'm comin' up or down ~ Am I happy or in misery?
Another great video :)
What an effort to get up that mountain on such a hot day! Well done!!
That sunset was so beautiful, the colours were unbelievable!
Cant wait to see the next one! :)
It’s was a tough go. Temps on the island have been cool all summer (16-20) and then to get his with 30+, smoke, and a grinder of a pass... loaded. Damn near killed me!
@@SaltyBeard_Adventures Good effort! Your videos are looking better and better :)
Definitely putting this trip on the top of my list!
thanks for the endorsement :))
@@SaltyBeard_Adventures thanks for the inspiration 🙃

Good work & Nice editing! I could really feel your pain at the 1:30 point, Different camera?
LOL - I knew i was going to be early - but closed !? Oh so painful. I was hoping score 1 just one beer for and evening treat after the climb - even a warm beer would have been nice - but no one was around, except for a band dropping off gear for an evening gig. What is you question about a different camera?
@@SaltyBeard_Adventures , I was just thinking that your perfect framing of yourself at the beginning and from 2:00 - 2:20 screams Hero9 front LCD blogger screen! or you just really have the framing technique down pat.
@@MrDanno133 hero 7, this was it first trip with a GoPro. (A bit late to the action camera scene). It took a little to get used to how wide the lens is but I’m usually not to bad with my 1/3 framing
i love how you edit your videos. I use davinci too but i'm traying.... Please, couldo you tell me what is the program or app you use to show the maps with track from start the route to the end? Thanks
I use DaVinci Resolve too, and I'm still learning. I paint my own maps and use Fusion (in DaVinci Resolve) to build the animation. This is how I learned... ua-cam.com/video/taz-Ucsj4vE/v-deo.html
