Amazing production values, well done. It was a pity about the smoke. It was a tough couple of weeks for us all. This is my backyard and you have skillfully captured its unique beauty. The community of Lillooet is working to promote bike packing and cycle touring as a sustainable means to explore this territory. Your video helps move the process along. Thanks.
I remember that drive from Goldbridge to Lilloett very well. Worked in the Goldbridge area around 87. Would go to Marble Canyon for climbing. Carpenter lake valley was a huge agricultural area before they flooded it. To bad about the smoke.
Thanks for commenting. I’m really hoping to step up my game this summer. More trips, more how-to. I’m really happy with how this and my Instagram have done in just 6-7 months.
I noticed the same thing with the birds when I was living in Fernie in 2017 during a heavy fire season. It seems they retreat from the smoke. Great videos man!
How did i only discover this channel now? Im starting at the earlier videos, gonna binge the hell out of these. Excellent quality, you should be more popular. Great videos.
Welcome aboard! Watch! Binge! Go Forth and spread the good word ! LOL - Thanks for the comment. Nice to know I'm reaching some new people. You can also find me on Instagram, LinkTree, and Facebook. Reach out any time if you have questions. I also have a RideWithGPS group if you need any route info. Always happy to help in any way. Peace!
Brilliant film, enjoying going through all your films, as I've only just found the channel. And I've just ordered a bear bell, never knew I needed one here in the UK 😁
Welcome aboard! Glad you are enjoying. If you have bears in the area (or other wildlife) sometimes it's better they hear you coming down the trail, rather than startling them causing their defensive response to kick in. I'm not familiar with the "perils" of UK wildlife. (insert drinking jokes here)
Another great video! Keep them coming. I've often wondered what an adventure ride up the Hurley would be like. I may have to give it a try next summer! I would definitely like to do some more riding around the Carpenter Lake area!
I feel your disappointment with the smoke. I had a big trip canceled due to wildfires in Oregon this summer. You should submit your your route to bikepacking.com. Looking forward to part 4👍
I’m glad you like the videos. We (Canadians) we’re so very lucky this summer without any large, widespread fires. There were a few smaller ones that caused a few lost home, but nothing like what happened in the coastal states. My heart goes out to those impacted by those fires, the loss, and tragedy. It definitely overshadowed the summers feel good vibes.
At the time I got it you could find them at MEC (Canada) and REI (US) however I don’t see them availability online anymore. It’s made my United By Blue
@@SaltyBeard_Adventures ok, just watched a few of your vids all cool ,like you said you dont have to be an athlete to enjoy bikepacking ,you just enjoy it at your own speed but thats still a long tour you did 👍
@@michaelmather7352 - that's right... it's all about scaling your expectations to your abilities, and being smart/safe while doing that. I'm no longer a serious racer, so my modes are hard endurance rides & lazy tour mode. This was the first big trip I shot video, and it takes a lot of time to do that when riding solo. So, while my milage was almost 50%, it was still consumed with a lot of effort filming. However, I did enjoy lazy morning coffee, and early camps. That's how I like to tour. For me, it was a vacation from my day job - which can get quite consuming at times - so I need to enjoy every moment, and recharge my myself in the process.

Let me know if there’s other ways I can help. Next episodes are Carpenter lake to Lillooet & then over pavilion rd to Kelly lake.
The most casual relaxing video , to bad about that beer shop being closed
Thanks, I was hoping they would have been open in the morning to grab a beer or two for after my hard climb. Oh, well, that's the way it goes.
Nice bikepacking video in beautiful country👍
Thank you very much :)

I used to climb at Marble too when I lived in Kamloops.
Really enjoying your journey 😊
Glad you enjoy it!
I've been really enjoying your videos . Have a couple trips planned this summer .

@@SaltyBeard_Adventures In the UK we don't have predatory animals. We do have a lot of people and the a few cheeky squirrels 😂
You put your GoPro in your Aeropress for that amazing shot?
yup .... (grin)
I'm binging this series :) What do you wear around your neck?
Usually just a Buff neck gaiter.
krása, můj styl, lajk
moc děkuji

I’m trying, I’m trying! Old computers go slow, so go old people ~ LOL

Awesome. What's your hammock brand?
Hennessy Hammock / expedition zip.
I have an important gear related question.
Where can I get a coffee mug like that?
Thanks

I'd have to find a way to take a fishing pole and some lures
Not hard at all. Compact rod, and you’re good.
Love it!
Glad you enjoyed it 🤜🤛
I had never heard someone referring to smoke while speaking about fog
LOL / Hazy then ? 😂🤣
birds aren't stupid they have gone if theres a fire on the way, but good vid 👍
Thank Michael! Your the first that answered that question!

LOL - at least the filter clears that all up!
