- How to Teach Your Baby to Crawl
We were shocked at how quickly Leo wanted to crawl-and at 7 months old, he's already standing! We spent a lot of time working with Leo to be active, focusing on tummy time and then planking and then eventually crawling! The best part was finding out what motivates him to move his little body...for Leo it was a laptop that no longer worked, and some of his favorite toys! While every baby will crawl at their own pace, we're showing you some tips and tricks that really helped getting Leo used to the movements he would eventually use to scoot around. Let us know in the comments below how you got your baby to crawl!

OMGGG!! You and your wife are amazing and so smart!! My baby is 6 months and need slight support sitting up, she cant crawl and HATES tummy time!! She hates tummy time SO bad that she rolled over to tummy or her back when she was only 1 week old!! So she’s 6 & 1/2 months now and I’m like why won’t she crawl?! All the signs are there but she won’t. I’ve trying reading and watching sooo many videos they all say the same thing just tummy time. I used the boppy in your video and BAM she was FINALLY on her knees!! After subscribing and watching your videos I’ve decided I’m selling her activity center and only keeping her push walker. Which I’ve done my research and read even doctors stating they delay babies from walking! Overall I’m SOOO glad I found your videos!! I will be sharing this with all my friends!!
Hi Tiffany! Thank you so much for your comment and for sharing your experience! My wife and I are very happy that this worked for you!! :)

I don't usually comment on videos but I wanted to say I loved seeing your genuine happiness and joy of being a Dad all over your face.
TY!💙
Don’t be upset if your child doesn’t crawl, some kids TOTALLY skip this. But I definitely think you should try and engage with them
Trying but he already likes to stand up on his fit and bounce. He trys to take steps. But hates tummy time and he's going on 8 months
Mine doesn't like tummy time at all but he's quite strong in his legs movements in the car seat his dad got for him.
His seven month turning 8 in a week & half.
Should I worry I he doesn't crawl?
Following me please 😍
@@blairbellaire5460 How about don’t scare people about their child having a learning disability off so little information.
@@ChefSaucey_G same goes for my son he likes to stand and bounce 😂
Thank you for this ! I’m a single father to 7 month old twins and I believe this was so helpful
Where is their mother
Faridaz Na she’s getting her mental health together , the postpartum was hard on her
@@waveunleashed9585 good luck man I'm a father of two and it's hard but we have to do it . Good job
Wave Unleashed you’re a top man, keep up the good work and best of luck
Welldone Dad, you're just the perfect Dad they need. 💪🏆
So sweet seeing how happy and proud you are talking about your son and all the things you do with him. What a great dad
This guy loves his babe so much. It’s refreshing and sweet.
He looks genuinely happy to Be a Dad! Love it
My son didnt start walking until 14 months. He skipped crawling completely until one day he walked along the couch and starting walking. My whole family that day was like 😦😲😲
My son was the same way. Didn't crawl at all and didn't walk until 14 months. He didn't walk until he knew he could do it, he got up and walked the entire length of the house the first time 🤦♀️🤷♀️ some babies are just stubborn and know what they want
Did he sit up by himself?
@@saritashah9878 yes he sit up by himself. Starting sitting at 7 or 8 months. I don't remember precisely.
Update: I am now on second child and she refuses to walk. She will be 19 months and still only takes 5 steps at most. Will update again when she's fully mobile 😁 all babies are different
Omg mine is 10 month today and he is not crawling yet ☹️ started physical therapy and I m practicing with him every day hopefully he will do it soon
My baby cousin literally just stood up one day and instead of learning to sit, to crawl, to walk... she ran.
👏👏
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👍
That's hilarious comment but its fine🤣🤣
How old?
Omg haha
My 5 month old niece is gonna learn bc of you your a good crawling teacher for babies
Awe my baby is 4 months and I’m crying lol how sweet!! Thank you for this!
Holy cow! That boppi pillow trick was the last puzzle piece my little man needed! He got up into the crawl position immediately and cruised over it! Thank you so much! How awesome and informative!
So happy to hear! Congrats!!
Me To!!!
Can I just say your an awesome dad you can see it in your face when you talk about your son how much you absolutely love being a dad!!!
Thank you!! :)
My 7month old niece has been trying to skip crawling and is just straight walking round furniture but we’re trying to help her learn to crawl.. so thank you!!
The Boppy pillow is magic! Thank you
My girl only wants to go backwards .. 😂
My baby boy just started attempting crawling, but he goes backwards, realizes he is now further from his toy, and cries! I try not to laugh but it's pretty hilarious

This is a great post for me my son is now 9 months and still isn’t crawling.. we cheer and claps but he stops and starts clapping with us. 😂 😂..
This was awesome - I had already been doing 4 of the 5 you mentioned, but #3 / boppie was the key. I tried that and 2 or 3 quick sessions later our baby girl had nailed it. Thanks so much for providing the missing piece of the puzzle!
So glad this helped!! Thanks for the comment!
Love how knowledgeable you are. My bf does not pay this much attention to our daughter’s development lol. Brb, making him subscribe to your channel!
My son has been trying to crawl since 3-4 weeks, but is now 8 months and is still struggling, accept when we hold his hands, he’s able to walk. He’s just having trouble coordinating his arms with his legs, I can see like his old man, he’s overthinking it. We always did tummy time, we had the pillow, he gets on his hands and knees and rocks back and forth and actually pushes himself backwards, he’s been doing that for 2-3 months. He’s got the strength, but like I said he keeps overthinking where he puts his hands. I’ve actually seen him crawl one or two paces when he doesn’t think about it, but when he’s trying he just overthinks it. Oh my sons name is Judah.
Thank you so much for your video! My little girl is 7 months old and is SO close to crawling but struggles with getting up on her back legs on her own. I’ve been trying to strengthen her abductors but I think the boppy trick and practicing in different locations will help her! Thank you!! :) your little guy is so cute!
so i looked at your video yesterday at 4pm especially the one with the boppy and within a day my 7+ month old daughter has started to lift her tummy and slowly moving forward... not proper crawling but at least that's a start... she is now trying hard to move in front to grab her toys....
All i did was following:
1) took boppy out of closest... Followed the video
2) Gave her lots of appreciation & encouragement as soon as she grabbed a toy
3) used different locations for playing/training: Carpet floor in bedroom, our bed & play mat... all worked like a charm
Nice Jay! Sounds like she will be crawling before you know it! 🎉🎉
@@DadsDad yup... later in the evening she did all of the above with boppy... so glad to have seen this video
The boppy!!!! My son has been in the rocking back and forth phase for 3 weeks now. I will be trying the bobby right away!
I was really like “ THE BOPPY OF COURSE! “ my son decides to face plant and his legs are completely in the air 🤦♀️🤣
Baylee Rose Dalton oh no! I hope he is 👌. 😂😅
Dad's Dad he’s good ! 😂 thank you
Hahaha😂
Just what I needed. Thanks much for uploading/sharing
aww how did i come across dad youtube? this is adorable 🥺
My wife just sent me this link, we tried the boppy, and our daughter IMMEDIATELY seemed to get the idea and was planking/using her knees, which she’d rarely seemed motivated to do before. Thank you SO much for posting these suggestions!! :)
Amazing dad and mom !! Congrats
Your son is super adorable thanks for the tips
I watched this channel in regards to having my 6 month old sitting up on her own. Within a week she was doing it on her own. Needless to say, this channel is a gods sent. Sometimes you feel like your baby is behind or your not doing something right ... it can he stressful..
Thank you Nakelle!
This was so helpful! My daughter has been searching for objects to pull herself along the floor starting at 5 1/2 months and getting frustrated. Some of these I wouldn’t have thought of and will be trying! Also so wholesome to see a father get so excited about his baby’s development. Thank you for that!!
Thank you so much Serena ! Good luck!🍀

Thank you! 🥰
I love how active your baby is while doing intro hahahaha
Haha 😂 thanks!
I'm not a dad but I'm a young mom with a 7 month old, and she's been giving me crawling cues but I haven't had the slightest clue where to start. This was very helpful, thank you so much for sharing
awesome video! thank you!
Thank you. I’ll try this . Especially the boppy tip. For the past 2 months my son has been swinging his body back and forth whilst on his hands and knees then lunges his whole body and face forward as if he’s about to fly 😩 I’m hoping the boppy will teach him to move his leg and arms forward !!!
Very helpful. Thanks!
Very helpful!
Thanks great video
He’s so perfect ❤️
Thank you for sharing 🙏🕊️
Thank you for doing this video, even though I'm not a dad it would really help my son who is 8 months old.
Im so glad and happy I found your channel ! absolutely loved all the tips and how you take your time to explain and even have videos of your little one ! I don’t have any children of my own, but I am an Infant teacher and this will definitely be helping me to get my babies to start crawling
This is awesome i just subscribed to your channel.and i must say your videos are amazing. Thanks so much for shedding light on a fathers perspective.
This dad is so adorable! As a new mama, I can relate to fawning over my babe. Cute, cute, cute! Relish all the milestones papa bear and keep up the fun tips!
Thank you for this!! I’m a single mother of an almost 6 month old who has been trying so hard but pushes himself backwards on the carpet when he gets in position to crawl. Anything I can do to help him and encourage him, I will
How funny, I have a 7 month old Leo right now also haha, thanks for the tips!
Great vid. Some good tips.
Thank you so much this has been very helpful
Wow good job baby
Trying w/ the boppy rn. Thanks.
Thank you for this
Thank you! My baby just turned 6 months but she is trying so I will def try the boppy.
Me too😲👏, I have one but dont use it
thanks
Wow how helpful! I just propped my nearly 6 month old up with the boppi and he immediately started engaging his legs which he normally doesn't do! He seemed to be getting so frustrated just on his tummy he'd kick and kick and never got anywhere lol
Love how genuine you are and the excitement you put into your child’s stages!! This is helpful & will check out your other videos for sure!
Thank you!
My sons 8 months and can’t crawl at all. All my other kids were walking by now. I believe it’s due to not being able to use his hands. “He has scratch sleeves on 24/7 due to severe eczema” I really hope this helps him. He wants to play with his brothers and sisters so badly!
Great video my son is showing crawling cues at 3.5 as well
Great video. Thanks for all the tips. You are such a great dad and I love that your videos emphasize how fun parenting can be
Thank u for the tips. My little girl does push up like a champ, but she doesnt know what to do whit her legs. Sure gonne try them with her.
Thank you for your useful tips. Love and respect from Pakistan.
Oh my goddddd your sonnnnn is soooooo adorable!!!!! I loved his face when he was on the boppy and your family were all applauding him and he just looked up at everyone! He is so precious!!
I’m on my third bubba. He’s 6 months in a couple days and he is definitely throwing his bum in the air and pushing his legs to push him forward…. He hasn’t quiet got the idea that he needs his arms to help him with that! Although he does lift himself up with his arms! I don’t have a boppy (if that’s what it’s called) so I’ll get one! That should help him prop him all up! Thank you guys!!!! Loved watching your beautiful little family! You seem like great parents!!!!
OMG thank you for the comment! Means so much! Good luck!!!
Good info
I have a 4 month old and this was very helpful
Very good video
Congratulations you guys have an adorable baby. My baby girl is almost 8 months and still struggling. 😟
Keep practicing everyone learns at their own pace! :)

These comments make me feel better because my 9 month old will only scoot 😭 I’ve been trying to get him to crawl but I feel like we might skip crawling and go straight to walking which was not my plan at all 🤦🏻♀️
Awe my baby name is named Leo too!! We watched the video together
New in your channel 😊i love it!!
Thanks!
Thank you so much. My 7months old daughter does the army crawl but hasn't started to crawl yet.
My son almost 7 months I’m try all these things with him and he also will be doing physical therapy I have a question how long did it take for you to see progress
Thank you, Dad!
I’ve tried all these before I found this video, except for the Boppy. She just adamant that she is not going to crawl lol She’s almost 9 months, I’m not to worried tho, my son was 11 months! He started crawling and then bam right before 12 months he was walking. Weirdest thing.
Awesome thank you so much! Persistence is key! We will definitely be using these tips. Thank you for your help
