Thanks to you i started my cat on amoxicillin for his viral infection i believe thays what it is ans hes doing sooo much better and this fishy smell has disappeared after 2 days of him starting his meds. I also started my dog on allergy meds until i can buy all the ingredients to make my own products that you said to use. I lost my job and I cant afford a vet visit for either so this helped alot . I didnt know animals could take our meds . Thank goodness we keep all meds if we have extra .

Natural antibacterial deodorizer for dog's fishy anal gland smell: Mix ½cup warm water, 2 Tablespoons Apple Cider Vinegar, 1 teaspoon all-natural Castille soap, 10 drops Lavender essential oil. Soak gauze or cloth & wipe the area up to 4Xdaily.
If you see this Dr. Jones, please let us know if it's okay to use this on cats (maybe without the oil bc of their tendency to groom/ lick?).

I just went through this today with my dog. I got my gloves, got him in the tub and expressed his anal glad…yum! Then he was bathed. It’s better if we learn as a dog owner how to do it ourselves.
