Wait artofguitar guy.. you say this song was written and played 30 years ago. You look like 32. So you were 2 years old when you played it in that old video). Did i got it right, uh?
All I can say being a member of this band, this shed a tear! Not only the talent of the members of Sanctus I'm part of, Scott Heddle awesome camera footage, Christopher's mastery of this studio, Mike's creative mastery and ideas of Art of Guitar, ALL of us, Rocked!! This is what it is about, then, now, future. I love how detailed and true this really is and nothing but respect to be your guy in this :)
Tbh, a lot of early metal was made by teenagers. Look at the thrash, death and black metal scenes throughout the world. The average age was between 16-19 years for most of the bands during their peaks!
Do it. I started playing again about 5 years ago. Joined a band of similarly aged rockers and now writing and performing just for fun. Living the dream again!
I find it surper amusing that the clean intro sort of had a bit that sounds like Day That Never Comes, even though it was like 15 years later. For a first song written by a group of teenagers, it's a huge banger and it encourages me to write music seeing that other teenagers could writie something this good.
based, this needs to be made into a album, the whole metal band that failed to make it and then they all went seperate ways, got older, had kids and one day came back for 1 last shot at a childhood dream is a pretty cool angle
I have so much appreciation for the drummer, like he’s gone and become a proper dad and seems like such a lovely person but underneath it, he’s still a metal head.
Super fun video idea, and it was really impressive to see how far you all had progressed in that one hour. Love the song, too, feels very much like if Metallica wrote Holy Wars for Ride The Lightning, lol.
I would give this video a hundred thumbs up if I could. I love the atmosphere of being in a room and jamming with my mates, figuring out parts and arrangements. This video of you guys getting together, talking about the parts, showing each other some things and just enjoying the music is super inspiring to me. The song is really nice in my opinion. Reminds me a lot of Flotsam and Jetsam and some early Testament. Really really nice one!
This is really cool!!! 32 years later and everyone one of you ALMOST remembers it. That's impressive! 13:29-13:34 is legendary!!! Alan's vocals almost sound like Paul Di'Anno mixed with Tom Araya.
This is the literal dream of all of us who are now dads, 30+ and miss our teen years of rocking out in bands. What I wouldn’t do to jam with my old band!
What a cool idea! I love that you guys were vulnerable, and had fun with it. I like that it also shows what just an hour of practice can do; not perfect, but so much improvement...as was mentioned .I think that was my biggest take away from the video. The different angles of videography were pretty cool as well. Definitely had a 90s feel. That was SO fun to watch 🤘❤️🔥
From an outsider that has never heard this, it sounded like a cold run of a song you guys all know by heart, play all the time and use as a warm up. Couldn’t really tell it’s been over 30 years!
HOLY S***, You guys cranked it! That was a fun video. Such talent as kids you don't see any more, anywhere. You guys are still so tight. That was nice.

Yeah the early 90s grunge killed thrash & hair metal literally over night. The boys were a few yrs late to really be able to take off. At least nowadays thrash is making a comeback...not nearly as big as in the late eighties, but considering how rock music is for the most part dead, thrash is doing pretty good. Megadeths new record did really well when it first came out--& I think it's the best thrash record they've done in 30 yrs in my opinion

I just finished the video. You guys sound amazing!!

The intro is truly beautiful and then when the riffs kick in how can you not bang your head? Thanks so much for sharing, and please do the world a favour and release an official version of this song.
