This guy right here is a REAL empowerment guru. And he does not need to write fancy books, hold seminars, or put on media-publicized shows to get his message across. People can learn far more wisdom just by watching a few videos on this channel than by reading every self-help rag out there in existence. Kudos brother!
Living my life to the fullest is why my 61 year old body looks and feels like it's nearly double its age. But I'm not in debt, traveled to multiple countries in two continents, have 9 children and 7 grandchildren. And that's only a fraction of the life I've been blessed with. I've earned every grey hair and worked for each scar and bruise on my body, and wouldn't trade a second of this life for the world.
I totally agree with you, I'm turning soon 70 and I lost my husband just 2.5 months ago after long illness, but I'm going to learn to play an instrument, I try to sing in different languages and enjoy life as long as I have it. thank you Bjorn for an inspiring video.
It’s been a really hard few years. All my friends and most of my family died two years ago. I mean, they’re still going to work, getting boosted, paying taxes , taking selfie’s, getting Disney princess eyelashes and everything, they’re just completely dead inside. 😂
Wonderful message! People are obsessed with social media garbage. Their worlds stop at the end of their noses. Conversation with them is impossible; I walk in the woods (N Florida). I draw and paint trees. I love trees, the beautiful, natural patterns. I’m polite to my neighbors, nod “hello”, and keep walking.
Yes I love Trees also and think of them as Ancient ancestors, when I find the big old ones in the Forrest I hugg and talk to them And also being an artist over the years I have drawn and painted them, and always thought I could make a book of my tree art and call it "Trees I've known" Alas I haven't gotten round to it yet!
There was an old man planting trees. A Roman soldier going to war asked “ old man , what is the use of planting those trees. You are old and you can die. “ The old man responded “ I am not planting it for me. Hard times are coming. I am planting for my children and all my future children. Years passed, and the same soldier returned with battered troops. The old man seeing them. Send a boy with baskets of fruit. The soldier in gratitude returned the boy with a fortune. Most people , do not know, that events like these occurred in history. In fact, in the Christian tradition we hear about King Solomon. But we were not told of how Abraham planted the trees long ago that would be used in the temple. Today, a lot of what we enjoy is taken for grated. But much of what exists in our local forests, we’re once planted long ago, by those before us. We should be the same. Leave the world a little better. And this starts where we live and where we are.
I wholeheartedly agree with your philosophy. My husband and I escaped California two years ago. Then we decided to attend our local university to finish a college degree. Now we have decided to sell most of our stuff and move to the French Riviera to explore European cities at leisure. The catalyst to all of these changes was terrible tragedies too sad to mention, but perhaps those losses are actually a blessing because without them we might not see the need to live today as if there is no tomorrow, or to inspire others to do likewise. Your video was very inspirational. Thank you so much!
@@allesdurchprobiert Not at all. Just plan to live in a tiny apartment near the beach and simply travel by train and backpack in order to experience other cultures and food. No one will be able to take those memories from us. At age 70, we hope to inspire others by example that it is never too late to finish college or to travel - IF those are things that interest us.

Bjorn, This world IS a beautiful place. It’s been a lifetime of embracing that philosophy. Each day a gift. Some of us are in survival mode, paying attention to see what‘a happening to the world. If you’re entirely alone, I’m not sure how to move past obstacles without resources or health to do so. I’ve spent my life caring for others until their passings. Now, as my time is nearing, I’m okay, but I wish there was some human connection. Peace all. Take care of yourselves & your loved ones, if you have them. 💗
@@LilyGazou the person you are replying to refers to actual real connection, not the typed screen. This is illustrative of why so many older people despise A.I, it can never be human.
The title caught my attention. I absolutely love this. When I lived in a city by my lake, I would often sit on the beach at night. Often I'd go to my favorite park to walk. I'd look out at the city lights, sometimes feeling sad for all the people sitting on their couches watching TV. I have never belonged to this world, mostly because I don't fit in. That is liberating. Thank you for the reminder. Oh & yeah, that jacket you are wearing is beyond cool!
"Be the adventure you wanted to be when you were a child." - Stunningly wise words. If we all lived that way I don't think there would be half as much violence and stupidity in the world. Thanks Bjorn. Keep well :)
I think a lot of us have wanted to be adventurers our whole lives, but then "life" happened. What's stopping us? Bjorn asks. Many things are stopping us - especially our own psychological conditioning (see the last few years). But we can at least hope for the strength to overcome all those obstacles ourselves, without expecting any help from others. I think we're being defrauded on "life" and should be grateful for that which gratifies, not for the "gift" of fundamental rights and freedoms, which should've been used in the first place. Someone who works 60 hours a week should not "be grateful" he doesn't work 80.
@@OTOWN2STOCKTOWN sadly our woods here are being deforested and it looks like a war zone. No idea what they’re doing, but it’s for miles and miles. It’s almost impossible to go in the woods here. Other than that, I loved our woods beforehand. We are atop a 65 foot cliff in the heart of Appalachia.
What a thought-provoking fireside chat! Thank you much for the important reminder to all of us; Many of us subscribers likely agree and learned the hard way during the "age of C-vid": Adventure IS life! Currently on short vacation from work and noticing that I want to paint and hike, plan my next adventure, and take photographs of nature's beauty. Skol!
SUPER videography and wonderful words! What a beautiful area you are in! And as Bjørn himself might agree - "You are the author of your own story. If you do not like the way this chapter is going, write a new one!" Tusen takk, Bjørn! 🏞
Beautiful scenery. I have always been adventerous, it's gotten me in trouble as a child of course, but served me well as I have gotten more mature and more focused on what really matters in life. Great advice my friend, thank you!
Im 48, spent 3 years working from home, eating too much. Felt out of shape and unfit which is not normal for me. My social outlets were limited. So I changed it. I exercise every day, I cut out most processed and junk food, just healthy nutritious food and I feel great. I've been studying Stoicism and taken a different perspective to life and the short time we all have. By pushing myself more socially, I've made new friends who want to do things and go out and have fun and I'm finally enjoying life again.
I'm 69 and retired for some 4 + years, I was always active and have plenty of passtimes to keep me interested in life so it's sad to see so many people dwelling on the negatives when so much is possible with a little effort.
An important reminder to us all! Life is outside of the screen. I feel so much better psysically and mentally those days I am not using social media and my phone as much. Put it down, open the door and let the world in so you can live again.
This was inspiring to me, so I have to thank you for the reminder to live each day as though it were my last. I was 35 when my Mom died of cancer, 37 when I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, 45 when my Dad died of heart related complications, alone, during the Pandemic year of 2020; I have spent the bulk of the last 10 years being so filled with sorrow and guilt, lamenting what my life has become, lamenting what could have been. Now, as I listen to you I feel a kind of jolt, a gentle shake on the shoulder that seems to say, "Hey, girl...what are you doing with this gift you have been given? You survived all of this loss just to waste away in constant grief? Just to pine for what has passed all while robbing yourself of this amazing gift you've been given? Wake up! You've been given a second chance! Seize it!" I suppose I just don't know how to move forward l, alone in my new reality. It's terrifying, but you're right; our time is short, which makes it all the more precious. Again, thank you ❤
I've been planning a thru hike of the 2200 mile long Appalachian Trail. I leave next week and have been experiencing a lot of self-doubt. Then I found your video today, when I needed it most. Thank you

Dear Bjorn... loved the make most out of every arrow count......reminds me of - It's not the dog in the fight that counts rather the fight in the dog, and, you dont get old because you play, you get old because you dont! We need to do more of what we love and enjoy. That way we actually win as the controllers want us all depressed, in fear, stagnant and the joy flows out of our spirit. I am doing things now at the age of 70 I have not done before. It is brilliant and I am happier now than I was before on so many levels. I refuse to gived up, give in or do what I am told - instead I do what makes me happy, most of the time now! Life IS beautiful, we create our own reality by putting the things in it we love.......discarding the rest. Live in the moment, is my pennies worth xx Love from Scotland
I love your message and its come just at the right time as negativity slowly creeps into my mind. Escapism is a deep dark trap. My thoughts are that life is a journey, embrace it and allow whatever happens to inspire us to be the best expression of ourselves. In that way, we express who we want to be, now and in the future.

Being 93y old, having read history of world and all Religions I could find. I find it interesting that in Zechariah 14: 12 that says in verse: Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes , and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth. Could this be a 2 fold meaning of a plague and nuclear war?. Not pushing any religion.
My favourite walking holidays were always trekking Cumbria in North West England where the mountains rose making me a ant in the landscape. I've enjoyed walking in West Crete absolutely stunning part of the mountainous Crete. Walking to me is a freedom I have and enjoy union with the landscapes I inhabit if only for a short time. The wildlife is unique to mountains and it might be the last time I see such beauty. I'll get another dog and hit some mountains again soon. While waiting for the roads to be safe enough to travel, my hubby and I had spent way too much time in front of the tv. We talked about filling our time in a more productive way and I encouraged my hubby to go for his ham radio license. He is 72-and has wanted to do this for over 40 years! He was always intimidated by the complexity of it-huge books and complicated terminology. Well guess what we have now? UA-cam! Apps! So he set about studying each day, several hours a day, even in the middle of the night. He sweated billets on his test date-but passed! Then I encouraged him to keep going-and he did! He passed the general license exam and is. Is studying for the master license. Hopefully he will have it by the time we hit the road. It’s been the best thing for him in years-working toward a goal, succeeding and now engaging in something he’s wanted to do basically his whole life! So proud of him! So, yes, don’t stop living until your dead! Thank you for bringing this to everyone so they won’t be the walking dead.
I have to think it's a whole different perspective living in such a beautiful environment as you do, Bjorn. I understand we all have to make the best of what is available to us, however. I admit I have not always done so, especially now, after tragically losing the most important person in my life in 2021, I have basically lost the will to live. I appreciate your message. My loved one would want me to go on.

You are 200% right with what you said in this video. I don’t want my headstones to say I wish I had done it. Get out and do it. May you and your family have a blessed day.
So true Bjorn! I feel I'm wasting my life and am struggling to find the motivation. I live with my husband and just feel dragged down as all he does is go to work, get home and watch telly. He comes to bed after 1am/2am and starts work late (he's self employed so can choose his times). At the weekends he doesn't get up much before 12pm. He's either watching telly or on his phone. I suffer from anxiety and am ignored if I mention any worries...so I'm feeling really stuck! I have to be careful what I say to him and can't talk about any of these topics you teach us about as I'm called a 'Conspiracy Theorists'.🙄 I live in a 'foreign' country which I love, but miss my friends and family in the UK. (I really don't miss living in the UK though!😅) I don't really have friends here as I don't go out much to socialise. Trying to remedy this by joining some groups, but so far I managed to choose one where no-ne interacts as we're too busy catching our breath (HIIT workouts).😄 I suppose the first step is recognising if you're in an unhealthy situation and try to make positive steps to change it! Power to those who need a nudge forward in life!💪👍
Surround yourself with the things that you love in your soul. Read, journal, music, whatever gives you peace and makes you smile. Learn whatever you want to learn, read about every thing that fascinates you. Your mind and soul can take journeys that no one can take from you....Maybe he has depression, who knows, but he makes his choices to spend his time doing what he wants and so can you!!! Learn about everything that thrills you!!! You got this!!
"They're dead and don't even know it." I couldn't agree more. The difference in inclinations between the adventuresome and common self-extinguished souls may be decided in the womb or by genetics. Adventure doesn't necessarily mean travel. It also includes carefully exploring and weighing unfamiliar ideas that may be at odds with "cultural norms". For most people this is a nearly unachievable task. They are satisfied with the mundane and what "leaders" tell them. That path requires less effort.
The more you look into it, the more you realise just how accurate that saying is. Most are dead inside, because of the lives they must live especiallyin modern times. They've never had, or given themselves a chance to experience it fully.
What's the point? I'm glad you asked. It's actually simple. Do the best that you can with what you have and don't waste too much time wondering why. You will never find an answer to that question. The point is: Live, Love and never stop caring.
Thank you for these wise words. About sailing it is said "The hours spent sailing are not deducted from your allotted time on earth". I have always remained curious and doing something new, even when things were so hard for me. Each year since graduating college, I strive to learn something new, go somewhere I have never been or do something I have never done. I am now 64 and each year I have kept that promise to myself.
Totally agree. Learn something new, get outside, be healthy (still working on this one!)! During lockdowns I learned how to knit socks and crocheted big blankets. I'm now learning how to grow my own food in our small garden. Daughter teaches very young children in the forest school! They love being outside.
Kære Bjørn, I used to be addicted to TV shows, facebook and online chat. I would binge eat too while watching screen mindlessly for hours , I was also very depressed. Then I decided to go hiking or running in the woods and meditating at the nearby beach everyday. It literally saved my life. no more depression, I lost 35 kg and I finally became a mother at 39 yo (a life long dream that i thought impossible) Tak!

An excellent video by our Norwegian friend, hard hitting message and very atmospheric. Made me pause and examine myself. I'm a carer for an older person and can not leave them to go into nature and do what I love to do anymore. Made me think of how my life is trickling away and as I'll be 55 this year, when it's all over will I be fit enough to do what I want to do. Hard choices.
If you are not already doing that start making walks or do bike rides. To improve your psychical condition, or just to stay in shape. There is (normally) always room for that during the week. I have a dog since maybe 1,5 years. Now i walk much more then before. (my son is in the gym seven days a week, but of course that's not possible for everybody).
Sometimes you have to make your own luck. I wish to encourage you to create a container garden if you are a city dweller. It will make a positive difference in many ways truly. I share your sentiments.Bjorn is surrounded by the majestic beauty of nature for sure! ♥️

I've been thinking of a great adventure that would take me away for five years, the problem is, places are getting more expensive daily I'm worried when I get back I will be homeless
This guy right here is a REAL empowerment guru. And he does not need to write fancy books, hold seminars, or put on media-publicized shows to get his message across. People can learn far more wisdom just by watching a few videos on this channel than by reading every self-help rag out there in existence. Kudos brother!
Thanks a lot!
@@BjornAndreasBull-Hansen You're a wonderful role model for young people. Thank you!
Maybe another 50 years ahead of adventure.
A life well lived.
I totally agree with you, I'm turning soon 70 and I lost my husband just 2.5 months ago after long illness, but I'm going to learn to play an instrument, I try to sing in different languages and enjoy life as long as I have it. thank you Bjorn for an inspiring video.
I am sorry for your loss! But it's so awesome that you're now going to get into music.
Nice job Tuija😀 enjoy and take care👍🏼
It’s been a really hard few years. All my friends and most of my family died two years ago. I mean, they’re still going to work, getting boosted, paying taxes , taking selfie’s, getting Disney princess eyelashes and everything, they’re just completely dead inside. 😂
Wonderful message! People are obsessed with social media garbage. Their worlds stop at the end of their noses. Conversation with them is impossible; I walk in the woods (N Florida). I draw and paint trees. I love trees, the beautiful, natural patterns. I’m polite to my neighbors, nod “hello”, and keep walking.
Yes I love Trees also and think of them as Ancient ancestors, when I find the big old ones in the Forrest I hugg and talk to them
And also being an artist over the years I have drawn and painted them, and always thought I could make a book of my tree art and call it
"Trees I've known"
Alas I haven't gotten round to it yet!
There was an old man planting trees. A Roman soldier going to war asked “ old man , what is the use of planting those trees. You are old and you can die. “
The old man responded “ I am not planting it for me.
So, you are rich?
@@allesdurchprobiert Not at all. Just plan to live in a tiny apartment near the beach and simply travel by train and backpack in order to experience other cultures and food. No one will be able to take those memories from us. At age 70, we hope to inspire others by example that it is never too late to finish college or to travel - IF those are things that interest us.
@@margokerby1533 Ah, I see. That works if you're retired. I'm still a slave, so I can only dream of living frugal while having spare time.
You made the right choice! Enjoy! 🙂
@Margo , I can only agree with you. Congratulations to you two.
I teach at a high school in the United States. I will play this video for all my classes and we will have a discussion. Thank you. You are one of my favorite you tube content makers. I would like to read your books if they are ever published in English.
That's it. Red pill those kids😊
What a great idea! I'm sure your students will appreciate this.
If the message truly reaches even one of your students, that's a life that'll be changed forever.
No reason to await translation. Search for a bilingual person online and have them record readings. Or ask Bjorn to do this.
How can you NOT love this man?
Thank you, my friend. Very kind of you to say.
There is a human connection right here in the comments. 🌺

I wish my local woods looked like that. Thank you, Bjorn, have a great weekend.
Your local woods look different - enjoy it! (To connect with topic of the video)
Sitting with the stones is much more satisfying than with most humans today. Enjoy.
I’ve heard that the ‘zombies’ in the show The Walking Dead are supposed to represent the ‘normies’ in modern day society.
I prefer to think they represent progressive liberals.
Useless eaters, repeaters, and consumers...you hit it on the head!!!🎉
That was already the intention in the classic horror movie "the night of the living dead"
@@javierpolo4681 Agree. Most people don't understand what horror movies etc are actually about
You can recognise them by constantly staring at their cellphones while shopping, walking and even driving
When I was a kid, I loved playing in the woods and snow, building forts and watching nature. I have tried to never lose that.
„I used to be an adventurer like you. Then I took an arrow in the knee” ;) Another great episode, tusen takk, Bjørn.
Thank you Bjorn, I needed that right now. My father just passed and he lived his life to the fullest. I can only hope that we can all do the same.
Seize it!"
I suppose I just don't know how to move forward l, alone in my new reality. It's terrifying, but you're right; our time is short, which makes it all the more precious.
Again, thank you ❤

Yay! Escape the escapism!
Live a life you don't need to escape from in the first place 💚

Being 93y old, having read history of world and all Religions I could find. I find it interesting that in Zechariah 14: 12 that says in verse: Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes , and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth. Could this be a 2 fold meaning of a plague and nuclear war?. Not pushing any religion.
Thanks for this message, it seems to keep popping up in my life lately.
When walking I never feel lonely that loneliness only impacts when I'm in the city. Hope you can obtain some positivity from this?

I’ve come for your calming voice, no matter the topic you calm me and my soul is still! Thankyou Bjorn ❤️🙏🕯🕊🇳🇿
I have to think it's a whole different perspective living in such a beautiful environment as you do, Bjorn. I understand we all have to make the best of what is available to us, however. This is the quintessential Bjorn, one of his best talks !
For years I have said the day you’re born the day you’re going to pass is predetermined. It is up to you the quality of life you want to that point. You are 200% right with what you said in this video. I don’t want my headstones to say I wish I had done it. Get out and do it. May you and your family have a blessed day.
Then in that case all of your life must be predetermined otherwise your choices would change your time of death.

I have to be careful what I say to him and can't talk about any of these topics you teach us about as I'm called a 'Conspiracy Theorists'.🙄
I live in a 'foreign' country which I love, but miss my friends and family in the UK. Power to those who need a nudge forward in life!💪👍
Tough situation to be in. Hope you can find a happier path!
The point is: Live, Love and never stop caring.
your videos are great, very relaxing and thought provoking
Thank you for these wise words. About sailing it is said "The hours spent sailing are not deducted from your allotted time on earth". I have always remained curious and doing something new, even when things were so hard for me.
