As potent as taking this vow can be, it felt like Torbin took it, less to train himself, and more to run away from himself. Making the temptation of "absolution" and escaping his self-imposed torment from his reckless and selfish actions against the witches coven
It would have made more sense for Sol or Carrie Anne's character to fulfill this role, given the writing. The only thing Torbin was guilty of was immaturity. The writing was appallingly bad to be this uneven with the characters. Even the Wookie would have made more sense as an absolution/suicide option, since he actively attacked his friends while being taken over. Torbin was the living embodiment of this show's writing. Right down to choosing Ki-Adi-Mundi to bring in, because he was an old, white, patriarchal cone-head. Yoda made way more sense as someone with secrets to keep since he was Grandmaster from age 600ish to when the Jedi fell at around 850ish. He even fears jedi being drawn to the dark side of the force when Sith surface, something that isn't exactly a logical fear given they haven't been around since before even HE was born....
Not exactly. Ultra instinct is when the body is conditioned to the point where all movement is perfectly coordinated and there is almost no distinction be between action and instinct. It's real life equivalent is being in the zone or a hyper state of consciousness which is the ideal state for the activity you have trained extensively in. It's like being so conditioned that your don't even need to think and your body moves perfectly without any thought but it's still you not something outside flowing through you. Barash is more like Goken's Mu no Ken (void fist or empty fist) from street fighter. Basically what Akuma and Goken have going on is karate star wars. Gokuen's Mu No Ken relies of letting go of the self and becoming one with the moment and the world around you. Become one with heaven and earth. Akuma's Satsui No Hado (surge or murderous intent or Violent Energy) is about becoming sharpened by your own will and desire to overcome all that stands in your way. It focuses on the self and is strengthened by powerful emotions but primarily aggressive and negative emotions like rage. Gokuen's Mu No Ken is about recognizing that you are just part of a greater universe, coming to terms with that and recognizing that you can draw upon this greater world you are also a part of.
Yes! We need more information on the barash vow! It was extremely helpful for a Jedi. I believe if it was used in connection with the training techniques of the ancient Je’dai the Jedi order would have been much better off!
Very good holocron as always ! I’m replaying KOTOR2 right now and I can see how Meetra’s exil is reminiscent of the Barash Vow in some way (when you pick the light side path)… Also, the end of the game shows the effect of the Vow… I mean we convince Sion to kill himself and we butcher Darth Traya 🫡
I think it would have made significantly more sense if kelnoca took the vow and not torbin, since torbin didn't really do anything warrenting it, but kelnoca used his claws to attack which is a great dishonor for wookies.
I think this vowel is a double edged sword if done properly I think that it can be very helpful to reenter a Jedi and help them to grow in there powers in the force. But that said I have a couple of issues with this vow while it does help to strengthen a Jedi I feel like it also potentially Can make one complacent towards tenants of serving the galaxy and in the case of Torbin I kind of think that he took it selfishly even if his intention might’ve been genuine. Like other comment or say, he seem to take it more as a way of running from his problems rather than trying to face them, but he might’ve intended to take the vow so that he could possibly overcome what he went through and become stronger for it. I think that isolation in this way can be very risky for a Jedi, but ultimately, I’m in the camp that the Barash Val should be taken at least once in a Jedi. I’m though part of me feels like a variation of it should be part of earning the title of master.
Why not cover 'Oneness' with the Force, the state that Luke's New Jedi Order discovered prior to the Yuuzhan Vong War and used to great effect to make up for their limited numbers? Basically a state of pseudo-Ultra Instinct for the Jedi.
So I think then maybe Obi-Wan, Luke and Yoda and Ahoska may have taken the brash vow . Knowing their failures. I’m just saying if you can make a video about these Jedis on the brush it will be awesome.
@@DeathScepter So if Anakin Skywalker took this vow, he would have become even much more powerful, stronger, faster, and smarter right after awakening.
I think vow is a good idea and Jedi every now and then should take espically long live races like Yoda or even off and on councle members. If the Jedi Lords ever come back this would be a good way for any of their hires to do before taking the “thrown”. in defense of disney, the introduction of bleeding kyber crystals is good, so is this vow, rogue 1 was good and so was andor, with the shows look at the empire from the view of a non force sensitive, mando season 1 and 2 and the expansion of the lore of mandalore during and after the imperial era was also a good addition to star wars, not saying all disney has added has been good because most of it had been bad but its always good to look at the positives
@@l.hans0692 " Bleeding kyber crystals .." Uh, well ... ever read up on Wicca, elemental stone & crystal magic, or other spirit/ energy binding ? Such things are already established in our own niche cultural histories.
After hearing about this vow, it's likely with Yoda being old school, probably deeming that their over reliance on the light side and their hubris blinded them so went the old school route by meditating in exile on a dark side nexus like Dagobah
Unrelated, but it seems becoming a master is no big deal. That dude who took the vow was .ind controlled, acted very poorly, is in some kind of exile and yet is a master? So master has no connection to power level or holding to the code, or being some ideal jedi... which makes Anaken not being master double insult.

What if Anakin took the brash vow after killing the tuscan Raiders

Why would he ?
