Oh, I did make a mistake - I said liver is on the left side. This is false, it's on the right side and ankle/leg and edema is also on the right side more than the left.

I quit drinking months ago. I was a heavy drinker for many decades. But I had a lot of these symptoms so I quit. 3 months later and I feel so much healthier. The itching gone, the bloated belly gone, the fatigue and malaise gone. I'm absolutely positive I was heading towards liver failure if I continued that lifestyle. BTW I am a 49 year old man and I will not pick up a drink again!

@@scotcharron1679 An ultrasound is useful but can't be used on its own to diagnose cirrhosis. For that they have to look at the overall clinical picture. Plus the ultrasound only images surfaces. Have you had an elevated liver fibrosis test yet? None of this is meant as medical advice of course, I am not medically trained but then I think neither is Dr Berg, well at least not in science anyway.

I had the pregnant look and most of my clothes were too big - just to accommodate by belly! I found a Dr Berg video that stated "you cannot lose weight while you have a fatty liver". The penny dropped and I stopped trying to lose weight and instead, focused on healing my liver.
It took ten months of keto and I.F. 19:5 to fix everything and lo-behold, 103 pounds disappeared from my body. I'm staying keto forever, because it is NOT a diet, but it is the correct human way of eating.

I had liver disease from an autoimmune disorder called PBC. I had all those symptoms. One of the worst was the severe itching. My arms would be bleeding every day. Nothing would stop it. I got to the end stage. I was told I had only days left if that. I was bright gold. The toxins had gotten to my brain and I was not able to speak clearly or understand things. I couldn't walk without help. I just wanted it to be over and I prayed for God to take me home. I don't know how many days after that my 2 kids got a call that they had a donor liver that was a match.I remember the car ride there and thinking it was the last time I would be seeing anything so I looked for flowers and trees and anything that was beautiful. When we got to the hospital they started prepping me for surgery and did pre op blood work. They came back and said that I couldn't get the transplant because my blood work was unstable in something. I think potassium. I told the kid to take me home because I didn't want to die in the hospital. They all convinced me to stay in the hospital to stabilize me in case they found another match. A couple days later some poor guy in Georgia got into an accident (I am in Florida) . He was a better match. The original match for me had COVID, which would have been hard to overcome in my condition. They took a helicopter and picked up the guy and brought him to me and did the surgery. I made it through. It's been 10 months now. I take anti rejection meds every day. It's not easy but I worked hard with a physical therapist and I can walk my dog and do small chores in the house now. The meds come with a lot of side effects and they are still working to regulate my dose so it's not so hard on my kidneys and I get severe migraines from the meds. But every time I get to feeling down, I remember how I was before the surgery and how that young man saved my life. It was a true miracle. I'm now trying to offer hope and support to other transplant recipients and people suffering from liver disease

My liver is on the right side but everything else is spot on. All my swelling is on the right as well. I was finally able to address my liver problems after I was diagnosed with end stage congestive heart failure. Seems the liver also starts dumping thymine instead of sending it to the body. AND Wham! you develop wet baribari (aka CHF). I've fixed my blood, veins, edema, ascites, kidneys, heart, lungs, nerves, bones, but my liver is a challenge still. As I heal I'm learning that my liver causes pain and fatigue with every poison that slips into my food. Funny thing, as a kid I worked in commercial gardening around high doses of glyposate, 2-4 D, and many other toxic gardening products daily for a few years. I now attempt to find clean and nutrient dense food but even organic food lacks nutritional density unless the farmer knows a mineral guy. In nature minerals are unevenly distributed if over farming hasn't depleted the soil as well. Then we fertilize with 13 minerals the plant uses instead of the 77 we use. Then we poison our food. For example additional manganese is needed to overcome glyposate as glyposate binds to manganese rendering it inert in living systems. You can't breath without manganese. Then we get to the bottom of it all poverty. Poisoned as a kid fighting fatigue and paying doctors that just wasted my time made life more challenging.
I appreciate doctors like Dr. Berg as they are far superior to the 23 years of doctors that nursed me down the garden path while I could still work. Dr. Berg is one of nine doctors I meld to draw solutions now.

My mom died of liver failure 11 years ago, she was the 5th of 10 kids of same complications, they were not alcoholics, abusing substances & took care as best as best as they could as given the situations growing up(very poor & worked on farms & why I think most were sick or now on other side). Environment for home & farming are so important for our living & sustainability especially in the indigenous communities were this rate is high & stereotype do not help.

of nature and work physically, which is much better than excessive sitting. Eye-opening. Maybe they were exposed to a lot of sprays for the crops.

I was diagnosed with NAFLD and later NASH in early 2017... prior to that, I had mild jaundice and went thru bouts of severe itching, but it subsided. In late June, 2021, I started developing Ascites... I would say throughout all of 2021, the malaise, bruising, weakness, lack of strength and energy were present... but things advanced quickly throughout July and August. I was so sick, I ended up getting a transplant... I am happy to say I am 2-1/2 months past my transplant and doing very well...
However, I would like it if you could do some videos on the subject of Wilson's Disease. As it turned out, while I was in the hospital, it was discovered that I had abnormally high copper levels. They tossed around the idea of the Wilson's Diaease, but were in a race against time to save my life so they never thoroughly pursued it until after my transplant. My transplant team from University of Michigan notified me about 3 weeks ago that indeed, the cause for my cirrhosis and liver failure was due to Wilson's Disease

I just tried to numb my pain 💔 and it took its toll. I began seeing a Transplant dr but he told me I would have to be dieing to get a Transplant and said liver doesn't always take and if it fails I would die in the hospital. I quit drinking cold turkey when I found out. Has been 5yrs but I have been diagnosed with lymphedema and on lactulose for ammonia on the brain. I have next to no white blood cells. We all deal with pain differently and I didn't think I could get sick so fast. I have memory loss plus swollen and jaundice. I am at peace with my maker. I wanted to point out that "severe itching" and "yellowing," also known as jaundice, can be caused by gallstone(s) blocking the common bile duct. When that happens, bile from the liver and gallbladder begins backing up in the system and the blood vessels. It can show up in a blood test as high iron and bilirubin. It does not necessarily mean a person has a dying liver, but the gallstone blocking the bile duct needs to be removed.

    • @thisguy2085
      @thisguy2085 3 роки тому +3

Yes, but issues with bile salts leads to gallstones. Issues with the liver trickle down to the gallbladder. The gallbladder may catch the blame, but where there is a gallbladder problem, there is most certainly a liver problem.

In May, I tested positive for autoimmune disease. I also have neurological disorder(seizures, arachnoid cyst and a small mass on my brain) Which makes everything more difficult. I have multiple gall stones, my eyes are yellow and my skin is yellowish brown. I have blurry vision. I have ascites, edema in both legs, loss of muscle, loss of hair, burning itching feet. Red dots and dark red lumps. I look like I have 2 black eyes. My face lost its fat. I ended up with periodontal disease in 2017 and ended up getting on my teeth pulled and now my gums are almost gone. This disease has Completely brought me to my knees. I don't have a good team doctors. In my eyes I should have been admitted a long time ago. I was supposed to be put on the transplant list back in 2020, until Covid hit and pushed everything back. I've changed my entire diet, I'm taking vitamins and supplements and protein shakes. I can't chew hard vegetables or fruits, so I have to supplement. My primary felt my stomach and also said my liver was enlarged. And my spleen. I feel like they're not doing enough. I learned about nutrition information from you. Also back in 2014 my colon perforated. I had to wear a colostomy bag for 8 months and then they reserved it. But it left scar tissue. So much in fact that you can't see some of my organs. This is the first video where you don’t offer any hope or suggestions for people to get better. We never know when a person has reached the “it’s too late” day.
    1) Fast from all food
    2) Drinking 1 lemon in water up to 6 times per day helps neutralizes the ammonia, stimulate bile production & make the person more alkaline.
    3) Freshly prepared carrot & beet & greens juice 4x/day.
    4) Large charcoal poultices over the abdomen changed every 4-6 hrs will pull fluid through the skin and relieve the pressure and toxic load.
    5) Complete change in lifestyle if the person responds and gets well.
    6) For all those with a non-alcoholic fatty liver: remove ALL processed refined carbohydrates. Eat real food only. Utilize the above suggestions on a modified basis. (ie. Start each morning with a lemon squeezed into 12-16 oz of water. Wait 30 min and drink a freshly prepared vegetable only juice. Can repeat in the evening. Rinse & Repeat each day.)

Nothing worked! Bob quickly gave up the boose after the news and changed to a diet that saved and changed his life! He showed us this drink he would make every morning! It consisted of ALOT OF ORGANIC PRODUCE! Kale, Spinach, Blueberries, Seamoss, Cucumbers, Honeydew, Blackberries, Almonds, Sunflower seeds, Chia, and Probably a 100 other things! He also blended things whole! He included the fruits and vegetables skin and roots! He lived with no complications for over 2 Decades and is still doing well this very Day! Funny story. When my oldest son was born 45 years ago, they thought he had jaundice because his skin was so yellow. Not his eyes. Sixth months later he was still yellow because both my husband's and my family have golden-based skin. In fact, my mother's skin was always bright golden under artificial light. I didn't notice it until we attended my niece's wedding; under the lights in the reception hall, my mother's skin and mine looked bright yellow, but nobody else's. Neither one of us has had jaundice. Both of my sons have golden tone skin with actual peach-color cheeks.

I don't think that's actually accurate! "Liver Spots" actually has no correlation with liver disease. Most liver spots are small and occurs as reaction from growing age and the uv rays from the Sun ...Its very uncommon that this would be a sign of disease or cancer. If you have spots that are larger than a pencil eraser in diameter then you could speak to your GP about potential skin cancers. But realistically if it's larger in diameter then you more than likely have a low platelet count which would cause bruising and bleeding under the skin! God Bless!

Your knowledge helps me a lot. I was diagnosed with cirrhosis, which erupted suddenly.
I use TUDCA (bile salts with milkthistle and artisjok), NAC, DIM, (for balancing estrogen and testosteron), resveratrol and Potassium powder, wheatgrass/greens/probiotic powder and vitamins. This makes a lot of difference. Stopped the prescribed diuretics which helped to differentiate between the cirrosis itself and the complications of those pills. Complications that made the situation worse. The only thing left is that I can't sleep at night, fall asleep in the early morning and have around 5 hours of sleep. This is since february.

@Cookie Monster Alcohol use caused it. Not even that much of a drinker, but as a kid of 1,5 I had a liver infection and during my teens had gallbladder problems. Maybe that has to do something with it too. The hormonal problems are also due to the liver not being able to process estrogen so the testosterone is lacking. First step is cutting off all forms of sugar and alcohol from your diet, reduce carbs, especially refined ones, to a minimum
      Secondly, avoid processed foods
Thirdly, eat lots of fatty fish (like salmon and sardines) and organ meats (especially liver), also don't be afraid of eggs, as all of these are some of the most nutrient dense foods out there, and your liver may be lacking, especially when it comes to B complex vitamins, and enjoy these along with leafy greens (like spinach) and cruciferous vegetables (like broccoli and brussel sprouts), raw salads are also good for you, as these will provide a bunch of essencial vitamins/ minerals and help your liver heal and detox faster and more efficiently
Fourtly, do intermittent fasting (if your liver is in a REALLY bad shape, you shouldn't do prolonged fasting, but if it's just a little fatty, it's okay)
Lastly, drinking a glass of water with freshly squeezed lemon juice and a couple of tablespoons of apple cider viner (organic, not the cheap one) before your first meal, as well as taking serrapeptase (on an emply stomach as soon as you wake up) and milk thistle as supplements may help as well
P.S.: exercise daily, doesn't have to be anything in particular, but at least make it a priority to walk outside 30 minutes everyday

He should have told me to see my primary dr. If I would suggest anything it would be that when dr.s do not know the answer to a condition they recommend the patient to have further examination. I was there. Weak, dizzy. I had to take a nap to get dressed for bed each night. If I ate, I bloated so bad, I looked and felt ten months pregnant. My diabetic socks were so tight, I had the fabric shaping my legs. I weighed a massive 73 pounds, and on multiple occasions simply fell asleep standing up. One occasion I woke up to paramedics arguing over if I were in labor because I had been crying before I fell asleep. My doctor swore it was anorexia, but was dead wrong in appending "nervosa". I had absolutely no fear of food or being fat. I was starving to death and expended tons of energy eating and blowing chow. Long story short, the hospital tried to kill me, I escaped, and then I slept. Hardly drank anything, didn't eat.
But not eating was the right thing to do. After about three days, I slowly began drinking more coffee, eating more sugar free gelatine. I worked my way up to yogurt and greens, rutabaga and sugar free ketchup. I gorged on three bites of pea soup, and didn't throw up. I ate more licorice gelatine (I blended spoonfuls of ground licorice powder into gelatine, ginger, peppermint, stevia, black pepper, whatever sounded good). I drank more tea, more coffee. It was a long, slow process, but somewhere in there, rather early, I found Dr. Berg. I began implementing various vitamins, especially D and K, and an occasional duck or turkey egg.
Liver failure can be reversed, but you have to be more determined than a Navy Seal. And, you have to trust God. He created you, he gave you a brain, and you don't have to be taught how to use it. If bread and pasta screw up your blood sugar and make you vomit, don't eat it. And don't let uneducated medical personnel treat hypoglycemia with dextrose and maltodextrine. That will only kill you faster than fasting for another hour.
Thank you, sir, for this! I am so grateful that, when I needed it, there was available the information I needed condensed into portions I could digest. I gained a whopping thirty pounds over a year, then lost ten, and haven't budged since then. This is the first winter I've had to replace my clothes due to wear since I started more than five years ago with a "somewhat" fatty liver and more than double myself! Keto is good.

Hi Daisy, My best friend just found out she has cirrhosis, she is 52 and she hasn’t been physically or emotionally well in about 5 years. Her quality of life is not what most would consider good. I see it’s been 3 months since you posted your comment. Did you change your diet or make any changes that have had a positive impact to give you pain relief or hope? I feel like my friend thinks it is too much work to prepare healthy meals and she gets overwhelmed and exhausted and doesn’t have a lot to motivate her to muster up the strength to do what it will take to get well. I’m hopeful that you have been able to make some changes and find relief from pain. Please let me know if there’s something I can do to help encourage my friend, if there was something someone did for you, that may have helped to encourage you or give you something to look forward to.

I hate the term “end stage”.
I have Cirrhosis due to Lean NASH (which means Fatty liver for no known reason) and the only ones I have from that list is fatigue, bloating and bruising. I think along with the bruising you should have added “bleeding disorder”. Also as for the loss of appetite I have that to an extent but I also have days where I feel like I am starving but after a few bites I am full. Also my loss of appetite isn’t so much that my appetite is gone, it is that I get full easily.
You also didn’t even mention varices, that is more common of a complication from Cirrhosis than HE is. And what about Spider angiomas? That is a rash that people can see and might make them go to the doctor to see if there is a problem. But they need to know about it possibly being connected to Liver problems. Spider angiomas doesn’t itch or anything, it is just there.
I love most of your videos but this one was just lacking in information.

That was a great video. You must have in the universe. That actually does that because I live in a tongue called torrent Oregon, and they don't took a job in my pay. You know what shutting it all goes down.
