Being a nordic woman with roots from all of the nordic countries makes me so proud listening to this
Hail Odin !
im Native American and im here
Im Greek and im here, the overall tone reminds me of ancient Greek lyre music
@@hellasboy900 well considering the Norse had fables of Greece and we found Greek tomes of "serpent people" ( aka my ancestors because we carved dragons they looked serpent like into our ships and armor) I'm not surprised.
And I don't mean tomes of Gorgon's but people who dress in fur and appeared to worship serpents. Logically it would seem like the Norse who often traveled. Also no vikings are not Norse, Norse is a people and viking is a trade basically piracy.
My roots are Norse, Norse Norse and Fin...hey how did that fin sneak in?
I played this at my dad's funeral two weeks ago. We are from a proud Scottish heritage but we always related to this song. Listen to this everyday. Thank you for sharing.
May our old European gods, doesn't matter if Celtic, Slavic or Germanic, grant him eternal peace!
So sorry about your loss hun
Sorry about your lost. Rest in peace

You are a liar
For those of you interested in some mythology. When the souls of Asatro, the Norse religion, die in combat, half of the souls are taken to Odin in Valhalla and the other half is taken to Fólkvangr, the great meadow ruled by Freyja.
thats literally not true lmao
Wumpus 1 actually it literally is. It is also believed that warrior women went to Freyja as well and that she led the Valkyries but I could be wrong. But Folkvangr was in the Poetic and Prose Edda’s, the most prominent source of Norse Mythology.
What was the deciding factor to where you went? Was it just men went to Valhalla and women went to Fólkvangr, or did something else decide that?
The Reenactor I think that all of the women went to Folkvangr and Odin and Freyja split the fallen warriors after a battle.
The warrior who stand out and lead go to valhalla as where the average warrior is believed to go to Folkvangr. Atleast that is my understanding.
I’m 39 years old and just started listening to tribal music about a year ago. I can say that I’m sad I didnt find this music earlier. I love music in general but this is more like healing for the soul. I feel this music and understand it like it’s natural. It reaches deep down and calls to the early human in me. I love it!
Have you found Heilung?

Im black and Im just into viking culture. Dont make your culture die because its magic and beautifull
Br
@@AS-ch1khFirst time I've seen someone saying that without hatred. Maybe it is. But it's a fantasy that might never happen.
@@psychwardpussyeater there are certain people in power that wish for everyone to be mixed and not have any ethnic or cultural identity. They want everyone to believe that it's evil to not want to be mixed but what I believe is that it's actually evil to erase your own people and culture
@@AS-ch1kh That's not just your opinion....
That's a fact. Just because you don't like your ethnicity to die out, along with your culture being replaced by outsider's culture doesn't mean you're evil or racist. They're trying to kill us silently. They silence everyone who knows exactly what they're doing. For "hate speech" and "racism." But I can tell you that's bullshit and we all know it.
@@AS-ch1kh race mixing is not something that has been forced upon the world. people now have the choice to love who they want regardless of ethnicity and big surprise, skin color doesn't really factor in that much anymore. I'm from sweden, 100% scandinavian, a direct descendant from the vikings, and a pagan. This doesn't grant me more right to old norse culture than anyone else because everyone has the same capacity to live by our values. Who knows, the vikings travelled so much there was probably black vikings back then too.
Ethnic Slav here....our European heritage is so beautiful....long live our beautiful people!
ngogol isn’t it ancient German
@@adamhawes3052 jes👍🏼
You should be proud to be a Slav. However Vikings were not Slavic peoples. Vikings were pirates and ruthless psychopaths. They have a bloody history of raiding, murdering, and enslaving Slavic people. Vikings were slave traders. Vikings used and sold slaves from Slavic and Celtic lands. Slavic people are also Indo-European people like the Germanic tribes and the Nordic people of Northwestern Europe but are a different brach of the Indo-European genus. Europe has a dark history of rape, murder, violence, slavery, subjugation, and both internal and external warfare. The Vikings were brave warriors, skilled navigators, talented craftsmen, and intrepid explorers, however they suffered under constant warfare. They were traumatized both from internal power struggles and willful malicious predation on their neighboring tribes. Their religion was a cult which supported this psychopathic mind set.
@@michaeljensen4650 You say all that like it was a bad thing...
@@michaeljensen4650 This sums up our Nordic (Germanic) heritage quite succinctly. A warrior society based upon kinship, violence, loyalty, courage, bravery, honour, and brutal psychopathy.
Ancient blood runs through all of us. It stirs thee unknown memories of past life's. Old songs thru all cultures sounded like this that's why it hits our feelings
I don’t think it runs through everyone that’s crazy
Blessing and honor and glory and power Be to Him Who sits on the throne, And to The Lamb, forever and ever
How do you know it runs through everyone..did you do the blood work?
It’s special and taps the heart in fantasy. All it takes is ancestry and there is a defined connection in deep ways.
No, it hits your feelings, because it's made for a modern audience and you are a modern audience.
I'm Greek. I like anything mystical including this music. It gives me strength from inside to face this life that keeps wounding my heart in every step. I might bend, I might fall, but I still rise up and keep going. My favourite symbol is the Phoenix because it rises from its ashes after it's burned..

Hey guys, here is a new Nordic/Viking piece called "Fólkvangr". In Norse mythology, Fólkvangr (Old Norse "people-field" or "army-field") is a field ruled over by the goddess Freyja where half of those that die in combat go upon death, while the other half go to the god Odin in Valhalla. Thanks to Aundrey Dostovalov for the photography! The final version will be on an album =) Hope you guys enjoy it, chuck it a like if you do and have a great week.
Sublime work, Mr. Gundry.
Thanks man!
Looking forward to it!
Praise the Aaesir and the Vanyr. Hail Freyja!
Excellent job, can i ask you what is the beginning voices called, i feel my self in the top of a mountain 😁
There's a nobility in this song, as if the souls of the ancient skandinavian Warriors are calling to us and saying " remember the time when our essence was connected to Nature, and we fought for what our ancestors believed in."
There is no trace of "essences" in Old Norse myth. Nor is "nature" romanticised like modern people do it.
Nature is always negative and ignoble in Old Norse myths. The jotnar are associated with nature and of lower class than the Aesir. The monsters the Aesir fight at Ragnarök are associated with nature. Wolfs and other wild animals have very negative connotations.
All of your beliefs are modern and would be totally foreign to a "skandinavian warrior".
*Everybody gangsta until the forest starts chanting Fólkvangr*

Well Vikings and Celts too, like Native Americans, were very close to nature. They believed in animal spirits and hunted with wolves.
Yes
Davy Jones' Based on your name, I guess that makes sense. Sorry, I’m taking this out of proportion. It’s just that a lot of these comments nearly drove me to berserksgang (going berserk), because of how they idolized the Norsemen and by the time I got to this one, I was already too furious. Truth be told, ek vil ok víkingr heita :) (I also want to be called a viking)
I was being sarcastic, I know pretty well the vikings in the 8-11th era, and you are wrong if you really belief every vikings was just a murderer and rapist of women, more than being a viking (because they doesn't exist the same way) I would like to adapt to their old costumes, vikings were explorers, craftsmen, traders and really independent when it comes to survive, old vikings wanted revenge agains Charlemagne but today being a viking today would be spare time swimming, wrestling or playing king's table because there's no more air for exploration in the actual world.
I am a Slavic woman and I am very proud of it and this song fills you with incomprehensible power

I'm Scotch Irish and this still reflects that Celtic sound a way distant commonality. They work quite well together. I think you hear that Viking sound in native American music too.
So, apparently, when you get into the really OLD music (what examples survive today), they all have a few things in common. This has all of them. I'm not a pro, or at all related to the music...industry? But I have a passing knowledge of this. Basically, the MONKE brain that all humans have hears those characteristics and associates them with safety, strength, numbers of fellow humans, and successful-ness. It's a primal response. Nothing wrong there. As a scotch-hungarian, i have a similar feeling. :)

Folkvang (Old Norse Fólkvangr, “Field of the People” or “Field of Armies”) is the abode of the goddess Freya. ... According to Grímnismál, Freya takes half of the “weapon-dead” into Folkvang after they die. The other half are said to go to Valhalla, the more famous hall of the god Odin.
Yeah, but notably only according to Grimnismal. Given how much the Old Norse speaker were into fighting, it's odd that we never hear of anyone going to Folkvangr, we only hear of people going to Valhalla.
