    one of the best pics of Stephen Pollack too. Almost bat a tear everytime his death is mentioned.....haunting. cant imagine the way that still gets at Staments. in the late 80s and early 90s i traversed the gulf coast and still sware up and down i recognized a car that was covered from hood to trunk in MUSHROOMS AND fungi. prob no connection.

    Paul is probably one of the most important researchers of the last 30 years. Mushrooms could help us rebalance the world and repair our own bodies! I love how startrek writers approached Paul to use his ideas in the latest series. However his work is so much more important than an idea for a TV series (spore drive). Pls share this video and share these ideas and help start the healing...

      youre not seeing the big picture. it is important to him, as he put it on Joe Rogan, to inspire a generation of kids to interested in science and research to create out of the box advances for future generations.

    In the 1980’s I was in Washington State, and my interest in mycology was rewarded with my discovery of places where I could find at least three different species of magic fungi..... I had no mentor, no internet, to guide or assist me.

    What's the title of the "rare book" Paul was referring to?

      A Golden Guide: Hallucinogenic Plants. There is a free pdf I just found online that is great. It's a fascinating book. Mushroom part starts on page 58

      I tend to agree that most of these closed minded sheep won't benefit from mushrooms.. they don't have the right mindset and very rarely does that type of person change.

      I’m afraid you missed the point to that comment. In direct connection to that disclaimer, Stamets went on to name as examples of the types of people who would benefit from partaking of psylocybes enough categories off the top of his head to include everyone in the room with him that wasn’t a complete nut case. He was being facetious while still properly covering his ass academically.

      @@Nirabulator well but it is to some extent true, that a lot of people that tried it just said it was weird and the would never do it again, Just weird is the only thing they got out of it, because they do not know what they are getting into, they only get into it because some body gave it to them, no research or genuine interest in mushrooms, PS not saying these people are worse and those who got something out of mushrooms are better, it is just a different state of mind.

    • @Nirabulator
      @Nirabulator 5 років тому

      Khalid Well, yes, you are of course right about that. We’re all the same, but we’re all different too. My limited experience suggests to me that there are people who need to try more than once before they get much out of mushrooms or cannabis or other such substances. It seems that the substance has to school the individual to some extent before they can have a useful relationship. Another way of putting it is that one has to get somewhat used to it before one can get use out of it.

    I get off on the mushroom info. Too bad Stamets never got off on the critique of political-economy. Class dominated society, with its private property, militates against living in harmony with the Earth. Maybe the shrooms are hoping that we'll come to our senses and establish a classless, non commodified democracy.

      "Did you get off on this stuff yet?" I heard that phrase a thousand times from '68-'75. Orgasm's a new interpretation for me. I'm okay with that.
