@@ahmaddanial99 thats definitely a phrase that getgood would use
@The Article Since Drop C is the highest they play, they really don't need a bassist. The bassist would just be doubling up on what they are already playing. Honestly the first time I listened to Periphery I didn't realize they didn't have a bassist.
6:08 Only Spencer Sotelo could open his mouth and a whole choir comes out
Ieuan Jones Perfect. I've been a fan of Periphery since day 1, and I can see how he went from Jetpacks was yes to Lune.
I laughed out loud and my 4 year old looked at me like ???
i mean, you do get a similar effect on mics when you project your voice while that far away from the microphone. Gives the feeling of distance between you and the vocalist, similar to a choir who arent using any amplification. Smart choice on his part.
@@mathewlombardo3876 I bet your fun at parties.
@@ieuanjones2229 you would be correct
Does anyone else think this is one of the best bands in history???
Yes
Absolutely
Fo sho
THE best band in history*
I was 69, hell yeah
“Do you feel the love!?”
Yes Periphery, wonderfully so
I lost my father to suicide a year ago. I listen to this song when I want to cry and think about him. I always feel better after listening to it. Thank you Periphery.
Sorry for your loss. Glad music has been able to help
It takes a lot of strength to push through. you have my condolences and respect. through the beauty of music will emotions emerge and settle the heart.
I can’t imagine....I’m sorry for your loss. Much love and solace to you, friend.
I think is for the very beautiful and motivating music environment they used to did this amazing song. Sorry for your lost, remember that you can always keep doing it, never give up, boy :).
Sorry to hear about your dad. If you ever feel like talking about it I'm open.
And here kids we see the three ways to hold a guitar: The High and Tight (Jake), The Casual (Misha), and The Swing 'Em Low (Mark).
Every prog band has to have at least 1 "high and tight" guitarist
@@noaheh8840 You know it's real prog when both guitarists are "high and tight' a la Animals As Leaders
tonellojohn I think the perfect strap height is the bottom horn just above my nuts or the guitar fully covering my nuts, depending on how baseball-bat-like the neck is (the thicker the neck, the higher strap for me)
@@Sjrm126 I think the guitar body makes a big difference as well. The bigger / thicker the body the lower it needs to hang to be comfortably. The smaller / skinnier the body the higher I prefer it.
Relyks Djoser I’d have to agree on that. Having a thick body really high up is just really cumbersome and annoying, I like my les Paul *low*
The part that I most enjoy about this "session", is the fact that it could easily be a product video for any single member of this band.
I would kill to attend a session like this, with headphones. Similar to those of Snarky Puppy. Has been amazing to watch this band mature.
itLEAKED hell yeah
itLEAKED yes!
when you find a fan of your favorite band in the comment section of a video of your other favorite band.
Fuck yes, I'd sit in an auditorium or something like that and just sit in in a session like this.
that would definitely be a cool idea.
Matt’s cymbal work on Lune is exquisite
That 7 feel is amazing...im obsessed with this groove...from the high hat work to the fills to the amazing cymbal work...what a fucking song...
maaan, this awesome half-closed hat pattern in the beginning...
Matt “if a cymbal isn’t moving, hit it” Halpern
@@jensonthompson4767 I think the same about Anup Shastry!!
Matt is just a god
Jake's Ibanez is a thing of beauty!
Seriously, that shade of blue is all kinds of eye-catching.
Misha's Jackson too
I've been looking where the hell to buy it lol
@@wpalermo91 IT has to be a new edition of his JBM signature series. May not be out yet.
Trey Milton most likely. I have his JBM10FX and absolutely love it.
This is a damn good cover band. Almost perfect. Will share it to the band.
Their cosplays are really good too
Lolz you be trolling..
@@ChaosPootato the drummer who cosplayed the drummer kinda messed up tho no Vs
they even use ibanez, prs, and jackson guitar

that vocalist is good but hes no Spencer Sotelo
favorite song in P3
Matt's killing it
SH Black same
lol this is ur fav song??? damn bro.
This one and Habitual Line Stepper!
SH Black and Remain Indoors. 🖤
Remain indoor, Flatline, Absolomb, catch fire, the way the news goes and this one are my favorite!
For the longest time when I heard this song, it brought me to tears reminding me how terribly I felt about a past relationship. I didn’t listen to it for 4 years because I knew it would make me sad. Now I’m the happiest I’ve ever been with a woman that completes me but this song is the ultimate nostalgia punch that hits hard.
“You found me in the cold, now I am
wrapped within the warmth of your touch” ❤️
Fabio Alves ok Fabio
6:19 That Triplet fill gave me a chub.
not triplets lol
Straight 8th note fire🔥
Fracture Beats Those are indeed triplets.
@@fracturebeats1273 they are triplets but it sounds very subtle in the mix
This song still gives me chills like the first time I ever heard it.
The fucking "whooa whooa whooa whooa whoooooooooa" bit live is honestly the most intense musical experience of my life. Shit had me like the dam busters just bouncing-bombed my tear ducts ;L So damn glad that this was part of the session 😩💕
It’s my favorite song by them and I’m glad I got to see it live too. However, I’d have to say the group vocals at the end of In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3 live are my most “goosebump” inducing live moments.
The entire composition of this song to the climax and ending is absolute genius. So emotional.
the reptile video meinl did was my first introduction to periphery. i couldnt hold my emotions then, and i still cant years later. these guys are perfecting my passion in a form that feels like they're writing their music directly for me. i can't feel alone in this life when these guys are making music together
This is such a beautiful song. The vocalist voice is powerful and his lyrics are moving. The drums are great as well as the layers of guitar tracks
I think spencer is the most stable singer ive ever seen. He just stands in that one spot holding the mic in every video ive ever seen him sing
This makes me feel so deeply I almost cry, so beautiful.
Mike Lintz me too. When they olay it live i wont be able to control it
@@GertBFrobe-ts3ql I can only imagine I would do the same.
The same, man... the same... every time I hear it.
Last year I was hit by a car and broke my leg, and the first time I went out of my house to do anything other than going to the Doctor was to watch them alongside Monuments, I loved both sets, but hey played it as their last song and man I didn't cry, but I was really happy being alive and watching everyone signing the end for a whole minute after they stopped playing.
5:54 jake is feeling that rythme \m/
Love this song
Jesus. The ridiculous level of musical talent these men have just blows my mind sometimes. A+ 10 out of 10.
Just couldn't stop smiling while watching this. God i wish everyone loved this band as much as I do. Beautiful performance of a beautiful song. Also love the added chugs in there, especially at 4:44.
those are in the recording! listen close, they are just buried in the mix
Well said!!
I love them as much as you do buddy. They are fantastic
Favorite band of all time, signed Spencer Microphone, pic with him, signed ticket from my first show, fan since P1
Goosebumps. Every. Single. Time.
Why does Spencer look like he’s the only one who stood in line at Walmart at 7pm with a day old rotisserie chicken.
holy fuck lmfao
🤣 he probably did
The drums on lune are just brilliant! I love the way matt uses the open hi hat like that. The cymbals in general are genius and brings the drums to a new level.
Spencer is my hero. One of my favorite vocalist in any genre.
I like him on the studio version as well. Having said that I would never listen to this again because the vocals are so bad. The power of 1000 takes and audio engineers make anyone sound like a god.
@@similarsubstance4885 this is an absolute brain-dead take, sorry
@@IcarusNadir wdym? Listen we can all appreciate Spencer studio wise, and the fact that he's gotten much better over the past years... but he's never been his "God tier" self live. Ever since he came in. Sometimes you just gotta be real about it 🤷♂️
@@IcarusNadir his voice here is good, it’s just very pitchy.
He doesn't hit every note and doesn't go as high as the studio recording. The vocals in Lune are ridiculously hard. Long belts, upper register singing, it's all about power and control to hold those top-of-your-range notes. You can do that in a studio, but live you're either asking to be burnt out half way through or hurting your vocal chords. Almost no vocalist captures their studio recording live. At least we know he's not auto tuned! He hit some great notes here, too, I'm not trying to take away from his performance, just demonstrate live stuff is hard.
This time I don't have any funny comment to do. Just sitting here, listening to this masterpiece song!
LIES, I'm pretty sure there's a V-Neck under that cloth or under those emotions. =')
Stick to yr not having any funny comments cause that wasnt funny
craig jessup bad day?
@@Straw_Breaker na just sayin it how it is
craig jessup No need to be rude about your opinion though
This was a great ending to your show on Friday at the Wiltern! You had thousands of people singing it with you
Bran bro I was there as well! The energy was epic
I was there too!!! Fucking epic concert!!!
Great show, with a much too short setlist!
I was there right in the pit, such a great night! 🤘🏽
Jake wears his guitar like his uncle.
The apple doesn't fall far from the tree LOL
Hahahaha
Who is his uncle? Dont fault me for not knowing pls...
@@Gee-no np man. Its john petrucci
@@SwainBjornstrandt thanks, man. I didn't even know!
Words can't describe how much I love this band.
Had this played at my wedding back in November last year. This song is special just like most Periphery songs as far back as the Bulb experiments.
This was my first dance song with my wife at our wedding, its one of my absolute favorites from them.
sounds like you got a keeper. The amount of times I've had to be like "baby this is my favorite band, just listen"....
that outro is full of feelings of hope and sorrow, so good
I want to hug the band. They take me through so many journeys I have so much love for them. I want them to feel the love and inspiration they create. Periphery rules.
I went to their LA concert at the Wiltern and they had everyone singing this together at the end of their set. It was truly a beautiful moment; the energy was insane. I love these guys. :D
Not only one of the best periphery tracks but one of the greatest tracks of all time IMO. Such an incredible song.
I can't remember if I've commented or not, but the first time I heard this was when I saw them in London England at the end of 2019 after a break up that fucking ruined me. They closed with this and I made sure I found out what it was called... And then played it to literal death. I cried honestly for days and days while listening to nothing but Lune. I'm a few years down the line and still healing but so absolutely grateful this incredibly emotive song is there for anyone and everyone to experience in all its stunning glory. I couldn't fault it even if I wanted to, just stunning.
Oh my gosh I'm so sorry but also this is so beautiful to read I hope you're alright now 💖
Not even lying. This song is the most beautiful piece I’ve ever heard. What a beautiful song. Good job Periphery, you never fail to amaze me
It's hard for me to pick between this or The Way The News Goes for best track on P3
This might not even be in my top ten Periphery songs, but it does give me feels. They have mastered their crafts. Rarified air.
A third installment feat. Adam "MacBook" Nolly
That 80's style Veil of Maya t-shirt from Spencer kills me!
I don't think I'll ever stop being amazed by this band. This just sounds incredible.
5:42 Waiting for this part every time!
Matt‘s and actually the whole band‘s energy is just insane. Love it!
I'd like to see them preform Satelites like this
2:18 that drum fill always gives me goosebumps
fantastic format for an amazing drummer, product, and band. thank you.
Please keep these coming, I can't tell you how much I look forward to full-band playthroughs of periphery songs
forever grateful to this channel for all these amazing perfomances. and I am not even a drummer
Saw them play this in LA 3 days ago and it was just as beautiful.
This was such a beautiful song to see live ❤❤❤
I love those videos, i feel it connects me even more with the music and the artist. One of my all time favourite bands.. !
This is one of the most beautiful songs I’ve heard in a long time. Love Periphery.
This is my favorite song by them! Their records seem so polished and edited sometimes, but watching this really proves how talented and professional these guys are and sounded pretty perfect to my ears
This is one of my absolute favorite songs. Such a great live performance.
This stuff is phenomenal!! And those hihats sound so crisp!! Everyone is in it together, tight!!!
I wasn't sure if I can love this band more than I already do, so thanks Meinl for showing me that it's possible!
Do you feel the love?
Yes, I feel the love
Chase it, hold it, feel it, never let it go
Never let it go
Don't let go
FANTASTIC!
This brings a tear to my eye ! Absolutely beautiful
I love how this song just is constantly building intensity to the end.. Just awesome!
Is everyone going to gloss over the fact Spencer was on point with them highs at 5:04?
I did. I sure did. But i was too busy looking at mark. No homo.
I was honestly wondering if he was gonna even do them. Like maybe he would modify? Not disappointed.
No hate on spencer but is everyone going to gloss over the fact that he had a really bad day on this session?
@@kodaavkin_music nah he didn't. It just sounds like he was not getting enough in his cans and so was a little hesitant mixed with being a little tired. He did a really good job on this one.
@@kodaavkin_music yeah his vocals were trash in this. hes def a studio vocalist. he needs the multitrack and pitch correction and reverb. ;ive must sound shit for vocals
I wish they didn't film this session near the end of the tour.spencer sounds exhausted
But nailed the last lines regardless. What a madlad!
Just beautiful... can’t wait to see you dudes next week in Tampa!
Everytime I hear this song I can start crying i´ve no idea why but I´m so touched by this song like by no other song ever... best song and album. 🥲
5:12 to the end always brought such emotion.
Awesome videos meinl! Great recording, amazing band, and a perfect drummer to show off good use of your product
Thank you.
My favorite Periphery song and one of my all time favorite songs. Such a beautiful melody all the way through.
There has never been a thing in this world that gives me the feeling I get when I listen to this song. All i can see is future and hope.
Lyrics:
The snow coming down now
Like December burning up in the summer rays
But I'm not stumbling, like a pretender
Medicine flowing through my veins
Heavy eyes but a tongue won't stutter
Mouths are moving and this heart's still fluttering
I'm on my own
You found me in the cold, now I am
Wrapped within the warmth of your touch
There's never a moment that I'd let slip by, in your eyes
Are we growing old day and day?
Am I melting in the rays of this love?
Never ever gonna let you go
Don't let go
Never gonna let you go
Slow it down, now
I cannot remember why I let them chew on my brain
They've come and left this town
In smouldering embers
But my gift will die in your eye
Heavy eyes but a tongue won't stutter
Mouths are moving and this heart's still fluttering
I'm on my own
You found me in the cold, now I am
Wrapped within the warmth of your touch
There's never a moment that I'd let slip by, in your eyes
Are we growing old day and day?
Am I melting in the rays of this love?
Never ever gonna let you go
Don't let go
Do you feel the love?
Yes, I feel the love
Chase it, hold it, feel it, never let it go
Do you feel the love?
Yes, I feel the love
Do you feel the love?
Yes, I feel the love
Chase it, hold it, feel it, never let it go
Never let it go
Don't let go
Don't let go

Holy sweet Jeebus what a beautiful and haunting song!
So would you say a hauntingly beautiful song to save time?
Please keep doing more of these! Living legends
This song got me into Periphery. For that it will always hold a special place in my heart. What an amazing performance.
God damn that sound ride sounds amazing as a crash.
Spencer seemed to be having a bad day but that's okay. Still made me cry.
His technique is pretty bad. Hes consistently flat.
I don't understand. His voice sounds absolutely awesome in this video.
@@timmontgomery7136 WTF?!
I mean hes objectively not in tune. I dont dislike him or the band, in fact I like them very much, but he just needs to work on his stuff. I mean he writes really hard melodies to sing, hes not going himself any favors lol.
@@timmontgomery7136 I agree with fact he isn't in tune but for this singing style he is still pretty in tune. It's very hard to sing long pitched notes without vibrato, for lot of singers impossible. Also lot of singers have problems with monitoring in earphones. Sound of your voice in earphones collides with your voice in your head. You think you're in tune but you aren't. Just my point of view.
Killer! Love the live playthrough, always. Keep em coming! Lots of P songs still to hear.
So much feel in this live version. I love everything these guys do. Spencer. only one word : unique
Amazing, but still waiting for Satellites🙏
Is this the last one of the set? :(
Apparently :(
I mean at least it's a great song to end with.
What?! We're not getting a Garden in the Bones playthrough?!
I wanted a full setlist!!
mexicanmaggot666 it would have been nice, but unfortunately even if they wanted too, Spencer’s voice is shot at this point in the performance. 😕
This should have millions of views. The song alone should have multi million views. Perfectly structure song.
This song is what got me into Periphery when I first heard it almost 3 years ago. Amazing video!!
Easily my favorite band. Even though I'm a drummer I appreciate every piece of the group
I remember listening to this song after a breakup with a girl. Cried like a baby. Decided to get my shit together, bought a house and started a successful business. Crazy how music can get you through certain things in life. This was one of the songs.
lol
So happy for you! Great job
Ok
Absolutely wicked song and performance! Such a sick song to end the show with as well!
This song gives me goosebumps everytime when I listen to it...you can feel the melody of it...and the message is fantastic! Thanks meinl...
1:10 shows the small details
That was baller
This band is just pure brilliance. This is a real musicians band.
One of the simplest song of periphery (riff wise) but still one of the most beautiful by far.
Everything on this track is perfection!
I love love love Jakes guitar that blue is something else
Do his vocals sound broken in the beginning? And also, why doesn’t Matt have a V-Neck on?
2:42 sounded a bit like he was struggling to get to the note.
I'm pretty sure he uses auto tune a lot during production.
@@timmontgomery7136 seeing em live over the years ive always kinda thought that too...
Tim Montgomery yeah.

I just watched Wilfred Ho's Lune cover and eeeey this came out.
Wilfred Ho is honestly the only drummer worth covering Matt; dude has some incredible technique.
Can't stop loving this song
My Favorite Periphery Song Ever. Everytime i Hear This it is impossible not to cry ....
Gotta love Matt's drumface!
Jesus the feels in this one flipped my piece harder than Matt’s Bill 🧢
I freaking love Periphery instrumentals, they're so deep and full of emotions and technique !
So excited to see these guys in 2 weeks
Yo Meinl please tell me you guys filmed them play their whole discography cos that's what I need rn
I must say say he is an exceptional singer
I was just listening to this today and thinking what a beautiful song it is. Then Meinl uploads a live session. Incredible.
I am in tears. I didn't thought for one second this could be as intense as the original.
But it was even better.
