@@mingchenwei1978 it was originally, but it isn't too far out to retcon Kazumasa's place of death to Iki Island. After all, it is mentioned by a couple characters in the main story that Clan Sakai did in fact go to Iki Island to deal with the bandits and raiders there
what i wonder is why at the misson after castle kaneda when you get his armor is isnt even fully set like it isnt scaly like his and its his dads armor right
I really doubt someone as great as Kazumasa (Jin's father) would have asked his only unarmed son to help him fight a bandit with a katana. I think you could interpret what he meant when he said "help me" in 2 different ways. 1) Help him establish a new way of fighting that wasn't based on this foolish honor code. As we know from Yuriko's side missions, Kazumasa was pretty much like Jin. He too didn't care a lot for honor, and would get into many arguments with Shimura because of it. He believed in protecting the people above all else, no matter what methods. 2) He didn't actually say it, Jin just imagined it. Even Shimura said that Kazumasa had died protecting his only son, and he knew him well. On top of that, we know from Yuriko's tales that Kazumasa was incredibly selfless, and even went against his honor code sometimes to protect the people. Why would a person like this risk the life of their son? Kazumasa maybe said "run away" or "don't look", or something in that manner. But because Jin was just standing by feeling utterly useless as his father was being killed, the guilt manifested itself into a vision where his father was asking for help. These 2 theories are pretty farfetched, but I still choose to interpret it in this way because it makes it much better.
I could've sworn there was a second flashback or audio later on in the game where Kazumasa says "Run", implying that Jin remembered it wrong due to his guilt. But now I'm starting to think it's just my boy Nelson Mandela fucking with me.
It's weird how the main game tells a different story other then the DLC. Spoilers down. In the DLC, it's explained Kazumasa died on Iki island under a shedding tree in Senjo Gourge by a Raider ambush, trying to put Iki under the control of the Jito. On here, he died in a winter area. Looks like a town in Kamigata or up north of Tsushima. Or Sago Mill. Weird writing oddity. But I can see why they changed it, cause a tropical setting would be new rather then another Kamigata but it's a bit of a confliction. Or Jin's memories warped it to forgot Iki. Hopefully the DC changed this scene to tie into Iki but it's beta stuff now. Also, Maskako said they decapitated Kazumasa's killer with Shimura. But he's alive in the DLC.
The scene has been changed in the director cut to match with the iki island expansion, I have to say I kinda preferref the snowy area for the scene but it's good to see they at least chnaged the scene to match up with the dlc
That’s because u played after the DLC came out where they changed his death to happen on Iki island it’s also why they added may ur death benefit all beings aswell to make the dlc work as it would of been a huge plot hole
Watching this again because the PC version facial expressions looked really weird but thought it was just me But after seeing this, nah theres definitely something wrong in the PC version. All these cutscenes with really nuanced facial expressions are just ruined in the intro, no idea what happened. For most games thats not the biggest deal, but selling the emotion of the cutscenes in this game is crucial and its definitely not great now. Hope it gets patched
(spoilers ahead only look if you know the whole story) I do love how there's the contradiction after Iki island that Masako said Shimura tracked the killer down and killed him- but (spoiler) Tenzo is very much alive on Iki AND he does kinda look like the general face shape of our killer AND AND the fact that this is such a common thing - contradiction to the story or not - LETS JUST think of it as realism - false information is a very real problem- Shimura either tracked one of the men hunting Kazumasa and killed them but didn't get Tenzo - I just like that it could literally just be a mistake in the story OR maybe not so likely but then being so accurate to real life that not everything is correct - EITHER WAY THIS has been my /rant about my little theory
@@78allblack I was actually looking for the psalms sounding... I ve heard something very similar on the intro of Parkway Drive's - Crushed song... Go take a look if you fancy

@@JamalF11X Bro sometimes, escape is the ONLY WAY. if u try to help u would get urself killed and ur father besides u can't dodge fate and also i know his father want jin to be safe
that's kinda the point Kazumura's death is what drives Jin to become a master swordsman hence when we see Jin and Shimura training at the beginning of the game. Jin was so full of self hatred at the start because he was such a coward and it cost his fathers life that is what makes him such a great character he's layered and flawed.
I’m reaaallly sensing a sort of Lion King type deal for some reason. Like Lord Shimura wanted to kill Kazumasa so he hired bandits to ambush him? Possibly to get higher up on the hierarchy or something. Maybe his clan wasn’t as high up there as Clan Sakai so idk MAYBE he was trying to kill Jin too so the whole of Clan Sakai would end??? Then it failed and he was stuck with Jin???? Idk why he’d do that thought but I’m just reaaaaaalllly getting that vibe for some reason. Edit: Coming back to this, I actually kinda have that theory engrained now. Because at first Shimura seems direct and not really that torn up about it but once he sees how upset Jin is, he starts to gain some empathy for him and that probably makes him find the urge to raise him as his own. And even in the cutscene flashback during the final boss fight where Jin is mourning his dad, Shimura comes behind him somewhat deadpan and says “Your parents will always be with you.” Then proceeds to convince him to join his clan as his son!! He quite literally tells him that he will adopt him into his clan to continue his legacy!!!! Even asking him to go by Jin Shimura and renounce the Ghost. He ultimately wants to end Clan Sakai, and let his clan live on in Jin. So that kinda backs my Shimura hired an assassin theory. Don’t get me wrong, Shimura is an amazing character, great caretaker, and loving Uncle but I feel like he didn’t always feel that way...
I mean Jin was literally the last Sakai, there was no way he could manage it alone by himself. The Sakai family will live on as he Jin marries and continues the bloodline when he is grown and then he could claim the title again.
Samurai JackOff Yeah I thats why I was saying that throughout the game Lord Shimura kept trying to adopt Jin into his clan and take his name which would end his clan and any children Jin would have would be in the Shimura name beyond that point. Which I think was Shimura’s plan after taking him in.

@@mingchenwei1978 it was originally, but it isn't too far out to retcon Kazumasa's place of death to Iki Island. After all, it is mentioned by a couple characters in the main story that Clan Sakai did in fact go to Iki Island to deal with the bandits and raiders there
@@jetstreamsam99 well should I play the expansion? Because it looks nice
@@mingchenwei1978 Definitely! Very beautiful map, great storyline, tougher enemies, and a lot more cosmetic items you can find

Man wouldn't it be crazy if they were at a beach side inside on a different island? Wacky am I right?
2:45 is sooo good.
Makes me tear up every time. I can’t find the music for this scene anywhere and I wish I could, it’s so powerful.
Yeah that definitely didn't look like it was on Iki Island
So sad but so cool
YOU KNOW THE THE SAMURAI FOR THE GHOST OF TSUSHIMA LEGEND THE MAN USING HATCHIMAN FURY
This was kinda retconned now but all good
2:09 please tell me what is the name of this soundtrack?
what i wonder is why at the misson after castle kaneda when you get his armor is isnt even fully set like it isnt scaly like his and its his dads armor right
Imagine later we get to play as his father killer what a neat idea it will be.
So I just got the father's armour and it's nowhere near as cool as this WTF?
Ye gotta upgrade it
@@averagecoloniser4586 as I played through I realized I've probably gotta upgrade it, didn't realize armour changes with upgrades. Thanks
The Average Coloniser I get that but I feel like it’s dumb that I can’t put the whole armor on because it’s sitting right in front of my face lol

Father =wind
Mother= yellow bird
Then Fox =?
That canyon was Senjo Gorge.
Does Yuriko still mention that Lord Shimura killed his father's murderer?
@@KingShibe
I was about to edit that.
@@labenvenci1584 no I was asking if that still happened in game cause I just reached Act 2 in New Game+ and haven't gone to the estate yet
Sucker Punch actually had to change the scene, the place, and add a voiceline.
For me his death was in a spring area
That’s because u played after the DLC came out where they changed his death to happen on Iki island it’s also why they added may ur death benefit all beings aswell to make the dlc work as it would of been a huge plot hole
@@KeenanBask alright
What is the song that plays in the background. The one with the humming
Is the funeral in the Director’s Cut still? I just finished my 4th playthrough and don’t remember seeing it, the new death scene was cool tho
For me, the funeral is still there.
Watching this again because the PC version facial expressions looked really weird but thought it was just me
But after seeing this, nah theres definitely something wrong in the PC version. All these cutscenes with really nuanced facial expressions are just ruined in the intro, no idea what happened. For most games thats not the biggest deal, but selling the emotion of the cutscenes in this game is crucial and its definitely not great now. Hope it gets patched
(spoilers ahead only look if you know the whole story)
I do love how there's the contradiction after Iki island that Masako said Shimura tracked the killer down and killed him- but (spoiler) Tenzo is very much alive on Iki AND he does kinda look like the general face shape of our killer
AND AND the fact that this is such a common thing - contradiction to the story or not - LETS JUST think of it as realism - false information is a very real problem- Shimura either tracked one of the men hunting Kazumasa and killed them but didn't get Tenzo -
I just like that it could literally just be a mistake in the story OR maybe not so likely but then being so accurate to real life that not everything is correct - EITHER WAY THIS has been my /rant about my little theory
Man he killed by level 1 bandit
He forget to drink health potion
Becouse he's troling the level 1 bandit
His leg was broken as explained in the dlc
He was capable of killing 10 bandits
What’s the soundtrack??
Well if you guys find out let me know too
Evan I think it is The Heart of the Jito from the games soundtrack. I’m not 100% sure.

Your father died proctetd his only son his reward is warrior death that samurai words love this game haven't beat game but it good game
Why is it different too Iki version did they not think of the dlc until way after this
Most accurate theory would be they tried to do both, the main game and the DLC at the same time with two different teams with the same guidelines given, and had to patch it all up way after the dlc got released to cover up the story mistake
@@leprovokateur7745 sounds about right
So his father a legendary Samurai died to some fucking bandits?

It was changed for the Director's Cut release to better fit the Iki Island plot. This was the original PS4 release
A freaking samurai lord killed by a bandit? Are u kidding me??
I’m pretty sure there were other bandits too cuz in the background you can see other bodies. So jins father was probably wounded with how many bandits there were. And Shimura tracker and killed the bandit after

You would have run away before the fight started then only return to loot from the corpses.
that's kinda the point Kazumura's death is what drives Jin to become a master swordsman
hence when we see Jin and Shimura training at the beginning of the game. Jin was so full of self hatred at the start because he was such a coward and it cost his fathers life that is what makes him such a great character he's layered and flawed.
needa go to sento george
Bang...
Welp that’s what he gets for not getting the milk lol
But lord Shimura is a Jito and Kazumasa was his right hand. I think his position is already higher than Sakai’s no?
Rhea Kybele Was he always the Jito??
arockyroad i think it’s safe to assume that he was always the Jito. Because the codex stated that Kazumasa was Shimura’s right hand even before he died :
