In this video we are testing a new DJI AVATA FPV Drone. Things I like about it, things I hate about it and important tips for a new DJI Avata pilots. Here is my full FPV story how I became a pilot from Zero to Hero: ua-cam.com/video/rhz-pipMVq8/v-deo.html
The Avata has fast become my favorite drone dji has put out. I own most of them (I have a problem) and lost the fun. Heck my home built fpv drones have been collecting dust since I got the Avata even. Keep in mind. It’s a cinewoop not an acrobatic fpv drone. They fly totally different. One is not good in wind but if you change your camera angle you can still get give or take 60mph where the other can handle higher winds and get closer to 90mph. As far as the sd card. That’s a pretty standard placement for a cinewoop. Though the Avata ones usb c connection is easier to use then some of my other fpv drones that need a 90 degree angle to even access it. Hopefully dji gets that similar foam out for the new goggles that they did for the original fpv. Cuz those were no good either without that awesome updated foam.
Flight time is really good. If you spend all your time complaining about the time comparing it Air 2s and drones that are for doing photography specifically this is not the drone. Cinewoop drones and racing drones their battery life is at best 6 minutes. This drone does have some bugs and DJI is addressing the issues like quick turns and it falls out of the sky at times. Knowing you can do cine and get up to 18 minutes flight time is pretty damn impressive. Motion Controller and using the Goggles 2 that can control the gimbal is pretty sweet. It does maneuver better than the DJI FPV and you can take the Avata into areas you wouldn't dare take that flying DJI FPV drone into because it would take a lot of damage and the props would get destroyed. Flying into very tight areas and being able to switch into or out of manual mode anytime as well as quick stop which none of the other FPV drones have except DJI FPV. Turtle Mode like another view mentioned is a very cool feature to have. The Camera Lens on the Avata is much better than the DJI FPV and can be angled very easily. Avata is far more durable to boot. This just seems like more complaining and comparing it to either the DJI FPV which does go faster, but it isn't nearly as maneuverable and taking it into leaves and other areas and not worry about it crashing where the DJI FPV would totally fail, is a huge plus. The propeller guards and the top shell do an amazing job protecting the core of this drone from damage which thankfully has kept me back up in the air.
Thank you for detailed comment! I agree Avata is very durable, I crashed many times trying to fly through narrow spaces and with a turtle mode it's still as good as new! Cheers!
actually for chargers.. i usually charge 3 batts under 2 hours.. not overnight. it can be due to your charger capacity. get a 90W or more GAN charger make sure its PD type C to type C.
I’ve been flying GPS drones (DJI and Skydio) for years, but poor eyesight has kept me from being able to use GOGGLES. I think the new goggles will open up the FPV world to me. I plan on flying “Low & Slow” THROUGH the woods and into tight spaces. Mine should be here in a couple of weeks, and I’m very excited!
Thank you. Probably not. It's most likely a marketing decision not a real limitation. The goal is to sell more Mavics. If Avata has all same features there is really no point buying Mavics anymore.
@@JetSurfingNation you're absolutely right. Dji has a history of not bringing new features to existing devices, but bringing new devices with the new features. You get what's advertised on the cardboard and another year of bugfixing. But they are bringing a great value - no other company can compete.
Yeah, don’t use Manual Mode just yet. DJI need to fix a few bugs. But use it if you really want. Just do t be surprised it the Avata falls out of the sky.
The crash only occurs if you do stupid yaw spins at low altitude. I've flown the Avata at high altitude and high winds in Manual and it never came close to crashing.... because i never did stupid, rubbish-looking yaw spins.
It is $279 for 2 batteries and the 4 slot hub. Even that being said, it is still freaking expensive. I could buy a couple big ass car batteries for less and have money to take home.
Hi Mike. Where did I say I am a "pro fpv pilot"? I am filming watersports activities like jetsurfing and efoiling for my channel for fun. I never said I am a pro.

It’s looking real fun to fly and seems beginner friendly. DJI Avata just made it to my wishlist.
Fantastic cinewhoop-style fpv drone. I want it!!!
Been seeing a lot of great reviews. Can’t wait to experience the DJI Avata myself. Thanks for sharing!
Hope you enjoy it!
frankly it was a good content, i enjoyed watching it
Amazing and a very interesting video as always, Mike!👏
Cheers 🍻
The turtle mode is the best in AVATA!
Exactly
I think really very good beautiful video
In one word, it's perfect, it's really great

Lmao what are you talking about most cinewhoops don’t even have sd cards built in because they don’t have a camera built in 🤦♂️
Yo,love it- how inteersting editing-💯
Great cap!! But even better video! I need to try this soon ...
Thank you! Glad you like the cap
everything looks so perfect, marvelous

Yes new goggles 2 that come with Avata could be a solution
Looks like more a competitor to the dji mini. But even short fly time and missing sensors can't make them reach the 250g mark.
Great insight. Do you think with firmware update smart features like master shots, active tracking will be available in Avata later?

The charging is not slow, only when you use a standard (quick charge) charger, i bought a 65W USB charger and now, 1 battery is full in about 30mins.
Good point. I have a standard one which was too slow
So you say your best done is the dji fpv drone right??
Yes
your kid is so cute XD

400 dollars in battery god damm and only 40 minis of flight 😢
40 mins is for 4 batteries 🔋

DJI Avata Fly More Kit * 1
DJI Goggles Carry More Backpack * 1
DJI Avata Pro-View Combo * 1
Total cost 1 827,00 €
@@JetSurfingNation omfg that’s crazy
LoL...this guy isn't a "Pro FPV pilot" if he is flying DJI.
😅🤣😃
Hi Mike. Where did I say I am a "pro fpv pilot"? I am filming watersports activities like jetsurfing and efoiling for my channel for fun. I never said I am a pro.
I'd say if you are making money off of your channel and shoot footage for it with an FPV drone, then you are a pro FPV pilot.
