Yeah, gts was from original diamond and pearl to ultra sun and ultra moon I'm pretty sure. But game freak didn't want people trading with other accounts on the same console and started getting greedy

Lol, if you're lucky yea, what I'd do is never trade a Pokemon that evolves from it unless you're trading for a similar or better Pokemon, cuz if just trade someone any old Pokemon for your trade-mon, chances are you won't get it back, ngl it's easier to steal others Pokemon during trading to complete the dex than to successfully evolve a Pokemon via trade without losing it
Since the game had come out, John's videos literally answered all the main questions I had since I never played diamond before, a video showing where to get the majority of the held items required for trade locked pokemon would be awesome and a great follow up video to this. It's such a breath of fresh air compared to the filler articles I stumble onto when googling my bdsp questions , appreciate the work John.

I have a suggestion to improve this codes: since the higher number of National Dex is 898, only the last three digits are more than enough to identify each pokémon. So the first digit (that always is zero in current codes) could be used to indicate if the trainer wants his Pokémon back. For example: you want evolve your Kadabra into Alakazam, but it is fully EV trained and with Egg Moves, so if you wants evolve it and take it back, your code would be 1064-1064.
People should already assume you want it back, the only folks who don't trade back are jerks. Had a couple people swipe a level 62 Gengar and a level 57 Alakazam for their level 14-17 crap. They were just quick Underground catches anyway, but still. Pretty sure the only reason I got my Machamp back is because I named it "ChokeMeDaddy" so they wouldn't want to keep it. Also had some jerk keep trying to trade me a Poliwhirl with no King's Rock for mine, I finally left and renamed it "NoKR=NoTrade" and he still kept trying when I came back like I wasn't going to check.
Slight suggestion, you should put out a PSA that if you’re waiting on others for a trade in the global trade room, you should wait on the left/right side depending on what you have. e.g. I join an empty room looking for Shieldon for my Cranidos. I’ll wait on the left side with my trade offer up, so if someone else comes along, they might be able to weed trades from the same game version

The starters section confuses me. If everyone who had a turtwig who wanted chimchar went to 0387-0390 and everyone who had a chimchar who wanted a turtwig went to 0390-0387, wouldn't the turtwig havers only encounter other turtwig havers and vice-versa? The rest of the chart makes sense to me, but that part I don't get.
@@AustinJohnPlays wouldn't it be less confusing if we just made it so that say exchange no. 483 and 245 ALWAYS be 0245-0483 so that we always set the lower number first? That'd get rid of needing reference tables too.
Yeah smh, my kadabra got kidnapped not once, but twice. After they didn't trade back my kadabra and just left , I went out my way again to go catch another Abra and evolve it to kadabra for someone to just take it and not trade it back. 🙃

5:30, This happened to me too, I traded a Hunter, and the dude trade another hunter, we literarly evolved , initiated trade, and sent back our own gengars back… crazy how some ppl could understand right away!
Suggestion to solve the confusion with Pearl reverse numbers: always do "lowest pokedex no - highest pokedex no". Only problem in any of the options is, people matching with people that want the same Pokemon.

I like this idea. Meanwhile I'm in that global union room waiting for someone to trade my Treecko to their Chikorita, but so far I'm the only one in the room. I miss the USUM trade method. That was much easier. I think I just try trading via Home.
this is really great. although one thing i would like to point out is that there really doesnt need to be 2 rooms for each pair. I feel like a lot of people going into say the Turtwig for Chimchar room would just be people with Turtwigs and hardly anyone with Chimchar. If it was just 1 room for each it would remove that problem entirely.
So far every trade is working perfect from getting the right trades to getting my pokemon back. Now I can finnally finish my living dex with gender differences that I've always wanted as a kid. Thank you

If you didn’t want to continue the old one, then maybe you could try a new Ultra Locke, like in BDSP or SWSH. I had a similar experience. I went into a global union room, found a random person and showed him my Kadabra. He showed me a Kadabra back and we traded then traded back afterwards. It was awesome, we didn’t say a word yet we knew exactly what each other wanted.

Luckily they left their electricbuzz and it evolve, so it kinda work out in the end but im still sad over my first electricbuzz BuzzShock.

I’m mean it’s probably because mine was far higher level than theirs. Mine was the last slot filled on my team and I used all the way up until after completing the Pokémon league . So I was really disappointed since I had Hank(Haunter) most of my journey. I ended up just releasing theirs out of spite and found a few more and named them the same just in case someone stole mine again. Luckily that didn’t happen, the other person traded it back. Still sucks I don’t have the original Hank tho
id say the only fault in the starters trades is if you have chimchar and want turtwig but someone has turtwig and wants chimchar. essentially you go to different rooms which would be bad right?
The system is nice, the community is just horrible, “Kilted One” just stole my Kadabra that I had leveled up and gave me a bare minimum level 16 kadabra and left right away

im so bummed out, i traded my haunter to someone in Korea, and they didnt trade it back. It was lvl54 in a premium ball. She was my playthrough mon and that scumbag canceled the trade and ran away. Left me with a lvl26 basic gengar. If you ever do these, better to do them with a friend if you dont want to risk losing a pokemon u love.

Idk if I'm just dumb but I don't understand the starter trade codes. Turtwig -> Chimchar = 0387-0390 Chimchar -> Turtwig = 0390-0387 Wouldn't that just end of having a bunch of people in the same room all wanting the same starter?
Ya this makes no sense, all the people with Turtwig and want Chimchar will be entering a completely different code then the people with Chimchar looking for Turtwig..

Amazing system, was able to evolve my magmar with this and the other person was honorable and traded it back. This method relies on the honor system which is the only downside, as bad people definitely exist out there. But I like to think they're a tiny minority in this community.
There’s still a gts but you have to transfer you Pokémon to home, use the home app for the gts, then transfer the Pokémon back to your game. It’s a huge pain
My problem with this is that if I have Piplup and want to trade it for Turtwig, then the link code would only link me up with people who also have Piplup and want Turtwig, not the other way around. An extremely simple solution would be to simple have the higher Pokédex number go first, so we could all get what we want.
I assume someone already pointed it out, but just in case, the codes are the same for caterpie - weedle and weedle - caterpie trades. and it looks like the same for the rest of the list.
So glad I work nights and get this stuff ASAP rather than 12 hours after you've released the video. Dude you are so knowledgeable. I've been playing pokemon since the originals lost touch as such after the first diamond n pearl. But then regained my inner trainer a year ago. I really wish they'd just get rid of trade evolutions entirely. I've spent the last 2 days trying to find someone to help with my trade evolutions on sword, and I'm literally having no luck. The other person never understands what I'm trying to do, or only wants to trade shinies/legendaries. It basicly ends up with me spamming trade requests for hours with nothing. All they have to do is let me trade my pokemon to them and trade back, then I could just leave everyone alone. But everyone rudely refuses to help

its SLOW as hell, I find myself mashing the A button non stop. The difficulty in the story seems ok, Im glad they followed the original and didnt dumb it down too much. I think the lack of all the modern day amenities hurts it quite a bit though.

I breeded the pokemon you wanted so I have a bunch of eggs I can give you. I still need some evolution trades done so I just ask that you set up all evolution trades that you need to do. You can trade me random stuff for the eggs I have. For evo trades we will trade our pokemon back to each other. You can, of course, keep the exclusive eggs I’m trading you. I do need you to find me an electerizer and trade it to me through some random Pokémon since that item doesn’t exist in SP 😢 and I need the item to be able to get electivire. I just wanted to say thank you for doing this. Even after more than 2 months I could still trade fossil Pokemon in just a few tries and that's with few people playing it now
The codes work, but so far for me it seems like most people have diamond and are looking for pearl, so there's been a lot of re-entering codes because everyone has the same mon. Hopefully the update that removes the 2 person limit will help with that but for now id expect to room hop frequently.

He isn't continuing the Ultra Locke. He said so during the egglock. A new Ultra Locke sounds like a good idea though.

id say the only fault in the starters trades is if you have chimchar and want turtwig but someone has turtwig and wants chimchar. essentially you go to different rooms which would be bad right?

The system is nice, the community is just horrible, “Kilted One” just stole my Kadabra that I had leveled up and gave me a bare minimum level 16 kadabra and left right away
Clearly he didn’t even want a kadabra, he just wanted to scam people

im so bummed out, i traded my haunter to someone in Korea, and they didnt trade it back. It was lvl54 in a premium ball. She was my playthrough mon and that scumbag canceled the trade and ran away. Left me with a lvl26 basic gengar. If you ever do these, better to do them with a friend if you dont want to risk losing a pokemon u love.

Turtwig -> Chimchar = 0387-0390
Chimchar -> Turtwig = 0390-0387
Wouldn't that just end of having a bunch of people in the same room all wanting the same starter?

Amazing system, was able to evolve my magmar with this and the other person was honorable and traded it back.
This method relies on the honor system which is the only downside, as bad people definitely exist out there. But I like to think they're a tiny minority in this community.

Yeah I hate that they took away the GTS. I love just putting my Pokemon up for trade and ask him what I want for it. It's a lot easier than now
There’s still a gts but you have to transfer you Pokémon to home, use the home app for the gts, then transfer the Pokémon back to your game. It’s a huge pain

Yes thats why this doesn't work, all the rooms are cluttered with scammers or people with the wrong trade if there's anyone in them

My problem with this is that if I have Piplup and want to trade it for Turtwig, then the link code would only link me up with people who also have Piplup and want Turtwig, not the other way around. An extremely simple solution would be to simple have the higher Pokédex number go first, so we could all get what we want.

I assume someone already pointed it out, but just in case, the codes are the same for caterpie - weedle and weedle - caterpie trades. and it looks like the same for the rest of the list.

I've been playing pokemon since the originals lost touch as such after the first diamond n pearl. But then regained my inner trainer a year ago. I've missed out on so many things 😫 since gen 3 pokemon

I really wish they'd just get rid of trade evolutions entirely. I've spent the last 2 days trying to find someone to help with my trade evolutions on sword, and I'm literally having no luck. The other person never understands what I'm trying to do, or only wants to trade shinies/legendaries. It basicly ends up with me spamming trade requests for hours with nothing. All they have to do is let me trade my pokemon to them and trade back, then I could just leave everyone alone. But everyone rudely refuses to help

Would you say this game is stronger or weaker then the other Pokémon switch games? Does it have more of a fun feel or does it feel as if it has realized the true capability’s of the switch compared to the first entry of let’s go how does this game hold up to the other remakes in your opinion?
it’s so fun
It’s a great game to just relax with. You aren’t gonna find it challenging most of the time although some fights are still a bit tough.
Well it has the hardest NPCs in any pokemon game ever.
its SLOW as hell, I find myself mashing the A button non stop. The difficulty in the story seems ok, Im glad they followed the original and didnt dumb it down too much. I think the lack of all the modern day amenities hurts it quite a bit though.
This is a great system but be careful I ran into my first dishonourable trade today, he basically run off with my pokemon. There is always bad eggs.

I breeded the pokemon you wanted so I have a bunch of eggs I can give you. I still need some evolution trades done so I just ask that you set up all evolution trades that you need to do. You can trade me random stuff for the eggs I have. For evo trades we will trade our pokemon back to each other. You can, of course, keep the exclusive eggs I’m trading you. I do need you to find me an electerizer and trade it to me through some random Pokémon since that item doesn’t exist in SP 😢 and I need the item to be able to get electivire. Would you happen to have discord?

I just wanted to say thank you for doing this. Even after more than 2 months I could still trade fossil Pokemon in just a few tries and that's with few people playing it now
The codes work, but so far for me it seems like most people have diamond and are looking for pearl, so there's been a lot of re-entering codes because everyone has the same mon. Hopefully the update that removes the 2 person limit will help with that but for now id expect to room hop frequently.
