Man brother, I love this channel. I love your sense of humor. I'm about to have disc replacement surgery in my neck and have not been able to play for about 2 years. The pain has been horrible and my left arm and hand just ain't doing what my brain are tellin em because of the pinched nerve. You, you motivate me so much so to get this surgery done and heal and get back after it. I've been playing since I was 17 and I am now 49. I already had several guitars. I've been a subscriber for only a month but since then I bought a Leo jaymz LP American flag with all the binding used from Reverb, a Vintage brand LP, a Chibson LP, and a cheap cheap LP, as well as a Squier stratocaster HSS hard tail tobacco burst,all to Mod to my specs, all in the last month because I very much needed the motivation and fire lit under my ass to get back to where I used to be and then some. I just want to say thank you and your channel. It does things that you weren't probably aware of.

You know, I think I remember trying one of these back in the day. I have now and had then a Schecter C-1 Èlite with the same wood recipe as the Zakk Wylde. They felt very different, of necessity, but their sounds were amazingly similar to my ears. My economic situation then would not let me get the Wylde I tried, but I liked it. I wonder now what I could make of one of those, because now I've gotten into modding, and who doesn't imagine a set of true active pickups in that bad girl -- and I'm sure I can do better than those $25-30 USD fake EMGs I've seen on eBay.
I just received the black and white bullseye I can't be more pleased only took 7 days to get here the body is pretty much flawless that is perfectly straight Frets feel great there is one run in the clear coat that can easily be buffed out but honestly you can hardly see it and the thing that I'm really stoked about is it came with active pickups

Beware buying a Leo SG. Mine was way screwed up. All the electronics were backwards. Really bad soldereing job. Neck pocket was gouged up. Scratches all over it ,and the tuners broke first tuning. Microphonic pickups. They wouldn't take it back because it was a open box special. It's completely refigured with ceramic P90s,locking tuners and roller bridge and Epiphone G400 electronics. Mas Mucho Bueno!!!!!
Did you get the Leo Jaymz sg? Mine arrived yesterday. It's great except the pickups are kinda harsh. Probably will change those. Other than that it plays really well like an epi sg.
Got mine a year before and immediately upgraded to 81/85 as well. Amazingly, I agree this guitar does not sound as full as my Buzzsaw!!! Acoustically, it fuller… Nice video
I snagged the black and white bullseye from firefly's last drop! Swapped all the gold hardware out for chrome, grover tuners, gotoh bridge and tailpiece, and a switchcraft 3 way switch. Unreal guitar for the ~$350 i have into it.
Hey, D! Wow. I didn’t notice for the first few times. (I watch some videos a few times.) Anyway, this video is hilarious! When I caught on to what you were doing, I starting laughing for real. The combination of what you were doing, and what you were saying, just pushed me off the edge. Uh….. You were playing jazz, right? Those was some very sophisticated time signatures. I had a difficult time following some of them. My favorite pieve you played, are the sections where you slowed down the drums, and started floating in and out of the beat. You played it so smoothly, I doubt most people noticed. I hope you plan to do more of your jazz eork in future videos. But seriously, this is a good way to teach beginners about playing through. Thanks for all the cool videos!
I love it! I have had the worse luck with Firefly guitars. Nothing I could not fix but mine were all because of bad QC bad soldering and bad grounds. I score a Leo Jaymz electric blue SG thru TEMU for $70.00 that showed up today. I just got a chance to check it out and i have to say he does a great job action was a bit low but it was intonation! Have to change strings I do on all my guitars I get fresh.
I got the Chibson Zakk Wylde Vertigo Les Paul. I liked it because it had a maple neck which is usually found on Fender guitars and not Gibsons. It has the same engraved brass truss rod cover as on your Epiphone Holy Grail. It's supposed to be a blank cover on the Vertigo model. But I did get the EMG ZW pickup set for it and a set of Grover tuning machines. Other upgrades like the bridge and tailpiece, bone or graphite nut, knobs are the final things I need to get. I was thinking of getting the rechargeable Fishman Fluence battery pack that is the rear cover access plate for a Les Paul, but I don't know if it's compatible for the EMG ZW pickup set? I got the buckethead awhile back. It plays great. I ended up upgrading pretty much everything though. Tuners, pickups, tone pros bridge and tail piece, it has those 2 kill switches so i put tesi switches. Spent a lot more than the guitar cost but it wasnt absolutely necessary
I have 3 very nice fireflys. I recently bought and sold the regular black and white bulseye from firefly. There was alot of bleeding colors on the paint job and the binding looked crappy. So glad i sold it. Worst firefly I have seen. This one you review cant be that much nicer than the one I got.

The Fireflies come with hardly any neck relief, that’s different from almost every other brand comes with too much relief. These necks feel more like a Gibson than Epiphones do to me! Not sure if the Pickups are good enough but there not bad! The pickups on that guitar sound really good though!
Mine was delivered yesterday. A bit disappointed with the size of the neck, was expecting a baseball bat but this feels slim tapered. Also the body seems to be thinner? Appreciate the lightweight though. All in all though I shouldn’t be complaining considering the price tag on this fiddle
I gotta tell ya dave,the epiphone sounds better than the firefly lp however the look of both guitars are killer,I heard zakk when he had pride n glory w James lomenzo and Greg d'angelo (white lion fame) I was like who is this dude,come to find out he was born here in nj(bayonne) and when he got the ozzy gig he moved to la,been a fan since,have almost all of black label society cds and the pride n glory cd
If you bought this guitar in 2004 for $800 it would now cost $1330.55 adjusted for inflation so it is not increasing in value according to the market..
The Epiphone has a bit more crisp tone clarity but it also has EMGhz pickups..but the Firefly doesn't sound to bad at all..I will probably put some EMGs in soon..but honestly personal preference..its a Zakk Wylde style guitar..If it wasn't for that I would definitely leave them in
@Dave6SS first of all, great job! I like the channel! The first time I heard Zakk was when "babies" first came out. I think I was 14. At the time, I was still coming off of a massive Brad Gillis bender. Zakk's sound was AWESOME, but the "demonic harmonic" was what got me. That's what I meant by realistic I guess. The Firefly harmonic sounded more like zakk. Maybe it was because of going through the network and UA-cam....

Does the Firefly sound better than the Epiphone?! I think it might sound more realistic than the Epiphone.....
The Epiphone has a bit more crisp tone clarity but it also has EMGhz pickups..but the Firefly doesn't sound to bad at all..I will probably put some EMGs in soon..but honestly personal preference..its a Zakk Wylde style guitar..If it wasn't for that I would definitely leave them in
@Dave6SS first of all, great job! I like the channel! The first time I heard Zakk was when "babies" first came out. I think I was 14. At the time, I was still coming off of a massive Brad Gillis bender. Zakk's sound was AWESOME, but the "demonic harmonic" was what got me.
That's what I meant by realistic I guess. The Firefly harmonic sounded more like zakk. Maybe it was because of going through the network and UA-cam....
