With how considerate Japanese culture is, it was pretty neat to see the crowd still reacted audibly to the Dancer reveal. Too awesome for even the Japanese to contain themselves. :D
I know this comment is 5 years old but when I read it, it actually made me wonder how many people in the crowd were hearing the English voices for the first time. I've heard from some JP players that they do actually like the EN voices, though I have to imagine the majority play with the JP voices on.
@@SoraBell yep. when they misbehave, you know it wasn't a spur of the moment thing. reservations and all that. it's also likely assisted by tons of alcohol. just google up "shibuya meltdown." you'll see.
Definitely understandable about japanese culture and NA shouldn't be bias about why they didn't react more surprising compare to western culture. Wonderful video :D
By the time the full trailer was out, they'd already seen the initial premier trailer, meaning they've seen all of this already, except the crystarium and dancer parts.
Heh, so it was in Eng over there too! I was at JP Stream on twitch, many were confused why it was in English. I'm glad you and everybody over there had fun time.
really need to visit japan some time. Met tons of nice ppl in ff11 and ff14 from japan. remember one day in ff11 i was very sick ina group. and asked if i can take a moment to rest, they said sure, i apologized and moved to rest. ended up taking a four our nap (i was upset i did) and apologized and said if i took to long you coulda kicked me. they said no harm, and was understanding. we killed a few more mobs then disbanded. had a lot of good groups in ff14 too.
Looking back at this more than year now and I find this very ridiculous and ironic that SE showed the ENGLISH trailer in Japan rather than the Japanese trailer. The feeling is like showing the Japanese trailer to the English community without subtitles.
Wait can someone chime me in. The game is made by a Japanese company which uses Japanese dub for their game. They're in their home country but they're using English dub for the trailer? WUT.
"Reaction" I mean, if you can call blindly staring at the video without making any sound or movement and then a short, polite clap at the end a reaction, I guess? I've literally never seen an audience looking *this* unexcited by anything, much less a hype expansion trailer, lol. Difference in culture, I guess.
@@OboroAkaneyaMusic I see, thanks for the explanation :) I figured it was something along those lines, but you helped clearing it up! Have fun at Fanfest :)
Actually, it's just respect. It has nothing to do with being unexcited. You can appreciate revelations and clap in the end, screams at the end if you want, but it's actually disrespectful to scream in the middle of the trailer. I was at the Paris FF, and I hated crowd reaction in a middle of the dialogue of Y'shtola and Urianger, making it impossible to understand. I would have appreciate more a reaction like in Japan :D And like someone said, we already knew a lot on the trailer. But there was so many details added on every scene we've already seen... It's magic!
Americans are very loud and obnoxious, but also passionate in a positive way. Europe is somewhat mixed since south and northern europeans are fairly different but generally calmer too. Part of respect, even if it is less passionate. Not wanting to stand out is a thing too. TLDR: cultures and people are different. There are other reasons too but yeah. Also you don't always have to scream and clap. Enjoying things calmly is pleasant you know.
Japanese culture isnt the same as american or british culture. They value respect over mostly everything else, hence even if theyre pumped up over the trailer, they wont be cheering and clapping while the trailer is playing, because its disrespectful to the other viewers there who want to concentrate fully on watching it. You CAN notice how excited they are at the end of the trailer though. And they were definitely very pumped at the dancer reveal.

english trailer in a japanese crowd lol

Japanese culture is so quiet and respectful. It'll baffle some, but doubt not that the hype is just as real for them. Thanks for the upload.
I like how they respectfully wait until the end to start cheering and clapping. Japanese people are so nice to each other
It's one thing I've always appreciated about Japanese wrestling, how respectful the crowds are.
Never gets old i will ALWAYS have a place in my heart and memory for this game just way to many fun memories with this game
The Japanese crowd is quiet because they're more reserved and behaved and react properly at the end of it all.
Behaved probably isn’t the right word, reserved was the better one verbally speaking
Or, you know, because they'd already seen most of the trailer twice and weren't that surprised by much.
Why is it that when someone gets called out, the default response is "it's a joke"? Is that just to save face?
@@SoraBell yep. when they misbehave, you know it wasn't a spur of the moment thing. reservations and all that. it's also likely assisted by tons of alcohol. just google up "shibuya meltdown." you'll see.
they play the English version in JP fanfest? what a twist! thought they would play the JP version
Definitely understandable about japanese culture and NA shouldn't be bias about why they didn't react more surprising compare to western culture.
Wonderful video :D
One reason is Japanese is quite bad at English so many were confused when the trailer first released since it's English only.
By the time the full trailer was out, they'd already seen the initial premier trailer, meaning they've seen all of this already, except the crystarium and dancer parts.
会場のサウンドスピーカーがすごかった。随所に使われてる重低音がほんと気持ちよかった
日本人静かだけどこう見えて内心めちゃくちゃ興奮してますんで安心してください♪外国人さん
i find it a little weird how they put the english trailer for the mainly japanese crowd
Heh, so it was in Eng over there too! I was at JP Stream on twitch, many were confused why it was in English. I'm glad you and everybody over there had fun time.
To be fair, there was no new dialog compared to the extended trailer in Europe. So it is not really a big deal.
Maybe because they'd prefer english rather than japanese
@@ace3436 I hope you realized in 4 years this is quite the assumption to make.

Ahh, before-corona-times, when thousands of people could get cramped in the same area to watch what is probably the best game trailer of all times.

It might have been the first one they finished. Perhaps the English VA were done first.
this guys are so respectful

I kinda wonder why they played the English voice acting. Since it's the Japan fanfest I was expecting them to use the Japanese voices instead
lmao now we know why they didn't cheer that much, they didn't understand any of it

Why is the trailer in English if it's in Tokyo?
Why did they show the English one?
Do they have a crowd reaction of the full trailer besides this one...Im only finding the 1st and 2nd versions
I wonder if there will be a Chiptune version of the Full Trailer?
Strange there is EN dub in trailer shown to Japanese
I never understood why America didn’t get this trailer. You didn’t get the thancred fight with the lion in our version
Because Japan > America
Jk :p
Peu de reaction. Uniquement sur le nouveau job Dancer.

I have heared that if japanese are quiet, is a sign of great respect. That is possitive, on their way sure. Americans have other ways of showing it.
There's really not much a reaction. I'm not sure they are entranced or just bored.
Japanese are just too respectful, they only react when everything is over and stay quiet even if we heard some being hyped when the dancer appeared
This crowd is WAY too quiet
Japanese crowds don't clap and cheer like American crowds do. It's a form of respect.

Oh they do have reactions, it's just they do not wish to disturb the others who are watching it.
