Thanks guys!
The Tissot/Longines bracket within the Swatch range has real gems. The Tissot presented here (which thankfully does not have the T shaped second hand counterweight 👍🏻) is a super strong package, except for the lack of screwed links
If I were to start my collection from scratch, with 8 years of watch collecting under my belt, I would no longer be so much driven by brand snobbery and would buy this Tissot over a Rolex Explorer 1 39 mm or a Black Bay 41. And add a Longines Spirit Chonograph to boot.
Wow Bruce! You have added a lot of watches to your collection over the last 12 months! Great collection and thanks for the content!
We have so much in common. Nearly every watch you show are my favorite or I have them in my collection. Also this Tissot is on my list. I think Tissot reached new standards within their pricepoint. Quality and design is just extraordinary!
This is a very gorgeous watch. I like the blue dial one.
Just ordered one of these with blue dial a couple of weeks ago. Anxious to see it in the flesh. And I like the polished center links a lot on this bracelet---goes well with polished bezel and indices edges.
I have this watch in black for a month and it’s a great everyday piece
21mm lugs -WHY! Thank you for sharing your awesome watch Zach😊
Just picked one of these up with the black dial! Love it!
I like that Tissot ! Wanted to get that until I shifted my focus on longines ... but this piece is great ! Well explained and great review with pros and cons ! Keep it up Bruce !
Longines is my favorite brand.

Thank you bruce for this great review and your real honest opinions in your videos. Today i bought exactly the same watch with the white/silver dial and can only say fantastic allrounder👍
Biggest problem with tissot is their lack of transparency. I had to do a ton of my own research to even figure out which of the powermatic 80's had the plastic escapement. The C07.1xx has the plastic escapement, the C07.6xx has a metal escapement, and the C07.8xx has the silicon balance spring and the metal escapement. The powermatic 80 C07.8xx is a great value especially as you can get a COSC version for under 700 dollars.j
This is really useful information. Good to know. Thank you
My Tissot Chemin des Tourelles with Powermatic 80 has on its back "high-tech escapement".
@@Marty004Cimb which could mean everything. In fact the Chemin des Tourelles should have got the placestic escapement.
@Marty004Cimb it's plastic. Another guy on youtube made a video about that and that specific watch too.
It reminds me of the new Datejust and the Aqua Terra combined. Nice execution.
Tissot is a great watch for an every day watch. I have a PRC 200 and I love it. You don't have to spend $10,000.00 to get a nice watch!
Same here. Wished they made automatic movements for the PRC200
Tissot was my gateway drug into Swiss watches
This watch is sweet! Been eyeing one for a while. Great video!
That plug for pateron was very odd. I feel would have been better at end or start
Was trippy af lol
I normally do that. But I wanted some shock value here. Really want to get the word out. Thanks for the honest comment
Didn't work for me . I'm out.
That plug made me want to 🤮
@@BruceWilliams Did the opposite for me!
My first proper Swiss watch was a Tissot (still in the collection, still love it) and I've owned several over the years (all ETA 2824 movements). There was a dropoff in the aesthetics for me when they first went to the Powermatic movements and I was turned off for a long time but I dig this. It's got a weird Oyster Perpetual meets Presage feel to it; too bad I'm not in the market for another dress watch.
I have this in the blue dial model , well I had it until my son laid his eyes on it. Love the watch and love seeing my son wearing it.
Did u get another one n do ur son still have it
Thank you so much for showcasing it! It’s a great watch for anyone that wants one, and Bruce definitely made it look even better 😏
Think the factory bracelet would fit 73/4 wrist ?
I bought this one with blue dial 400€ second hand last winter. Makes me think what did i pay with my Rolex ;) Extremely great value for price, magnetic protection is better than needed. Great every day beater.
The same here. Awesome!
This is stunningly beautiful and well designed!!! 😍 I am feeling a bit sad though when we have reached a point where an 800 dollar watch is considered an affordable every day casual beater. If this was released in the 80s, it would be looked down as a masterpiece...now it is considered an entry level automatic watch...I am truly thinking of gifting my 5 piece collection to friends and family, get this one and be done with it. I love it!
If budget can’t stretch to a Datejust, this will do just fine.
I thought the same thing
David Robertson im gonna make the absurd assumption that the comment was a bit of a joke
Can get an Oyster perpetual 39mm it's really nice
That’s like stretching from a mini to Ferrari. Lol 😂
No, it won't. Trust me.
Datejust is lobster
This Tissot is a 5 year old bread with the cheapest butter you can find at cosco
just bought one today. looks great, discreet, understated; perfect... had been trying to decide on a silver dial for months but wanted something under 40 mm. The only respectable offering was a GS SBGX263. given that I am already smarting from having forked out cash for a 259, this is the item to settle for.
Bought one about two months ago, the blue dial and leather strap variant and I love it. Wear it often. I put a blue Alligator leather band on mine and like it more over the brown calfskin.
This is gorgeous!!!
Thanks Bruce. I bought the solid rose gold bezel version on a leather strap and that has 20mm lug width, so a lot more options for straps. Its nearly a mm thinner too, same movement. Of course its also nearly double the price ! Good luck everyone and stay safe.
It’s the same model with 20mm lugs?
Pleasantly surprised at how well made it is even under the macro.
A good alternative to the Serbs, Alpinists, and Hamilton Khaki Lines. Wish this Came in a 38mm
@David Coleman agree 100%, and even the SNKL23 and the silver dial version are incredible 38mm options for less than a hundred bucks. I don’t know how Seiko does it.
The Indices reminds me to Grand Seiko, crisp, sharp, perfect.
Bruce I love you're Channel. I've been watching you for a long time now and you seem like a very positive person that accepts constructive criticism. I want to support you and your patreon; however, I think the way that you advertise it kind of interrupts the flow of a good review. Just my personal opinion and I'm still going to support you regardless. Have a great day. I'm not a hater but figured this may give you some feedback from viewers. Keep up the awesome work may you continue to be blessed.
No worries Brian! I'll work to integrate the info better in the future. I wanted to grab some attention and create some shock value here, but it may have been too much
For some reason I really like this watch.
I just bought this in the blue dial version. Looks gorgeous. My problem is with the bracelet. Has sharp edges & feels uncomfortable at times. Heard you can squeeze a 22mm strap & i'm seriously thinking about trying.
That feeling that you get when you're watching a video about a watch on your wrist
Good video Bruce, but I think you would have been much better off putting the Patreon plug at the beginning or end of the video..
That's a good looking watch.
Now that's a tremendous value for money watch right there.
I have both the blue and black, I knocked down the center links high polish on the black dial. Both are excellent.
I got the 18k rosegold version and it is great. A true value for the money and is on par with my Presages. It wears large and has good heft to it. I love the powermatic 80 as well. The watch looks better in person.
@johnny begood somewhere around $850
I have the two tone version.
I wear it to the office, great everyday watch. I love the power reserve, I can let it "rest" during the weekend and collect it on Monday, still ticking.
The biggest drawback: the lume :(
I was thinking about getting the seiko sarb035 but this watch is a beauty!
Very attractive watch. Nice macro footage.
Great watch. I almost got one for my son, but it was just a little long lug to lug for his wrists.
Tissot covers from sports to dress watches incredibly well. Historic Brand. This time piece iis really beautiful. Thanks for another great review!
Nice to see some Tissot love, i have the Visodate Heritage Automatic. It's a perfect size for me, and the vintage look for me is excellent. Love the modern design of the Gentleman :)
Nice watch. I just got one on the Milanese strap for my birthday. It wears like a 36 mm what I like.
Very good, i love it !!🤩🤩👍👍🇨🇭
nice looking watch.
This is clean
I love the review and love the watch but I can't move on something with a polished centre bracelet. Best wishes on your Patreon channel, I hope to be a member over there soon.
For me, the only negative is the 21mm lug width. My buddy with a Speedmaster Co-axial has issues finding straps at 21mm too. This is still a hit out of the park otherwise, but JUST over the wall. I especially love the blue one. I would recommend this model to anybody looking for a nice every day watch.
Nice video and watch! Seems very fancy for the price. Did you ever review the mm200? Esp the limited edition blue dial version is a crazy watch for under a thou
Indeed a great watch I'm looking for the black one since 2 months...guess I will get it soon 😅
Great review Bruce, I like that a lot but I already have a Seiko SARB35 so no room for both.
split pins are no negative for me, 21mm lug width is though. also negatives are lack of microadjust and no orientation with the lume in the dark imo
I have one and agree with all those!
I bought both the Tissot Gentleman and the Tissot PR100 COSC automatic. Before the watches arrived I thought the Gentleman would be my favorite. However, its unusually long 48mm lug-to-lug case is an awkward fit on a 7-inch or smaller wrist. Fortunately, the PR100 is just as good looking with a more wrist-friendly 44mm lug-to-lug, 39mm case, and a contoured bracelet that fits perfectly. I returned the Gentleman and kept the PR100 --just a heads up for those with smaller wrists!
So my 6.5” wrist will not wear this piece well? I was considering the gentleman.
thanks for good review❤️❤️
i loved this watch and i have question
is that watch for formal suit only ?
thanks
I have the blue faced version and it's stunning! Accurate too, -1 secs a day!
My blue faced Silicium loses around 3 minutes month, have had it for 6 months and would say its power reserve was more like 50 to 60 hours.
I'm sooo getting this watch soon; love the polish in the bezel AND center links.
I don't care about scratches, I will be wearing it with suits exclusively, when a diver watch doesn't quite fit.
Also no problem it's not COSC, since I'll wear it once a week tops so I'll have to set the time each time any way...
Great video! Between this one and the Seiko SARX033, which one would you go for? They are very similarly priced, but how do they compare on finish and looks? Thanks in advance!
Seiko SARX033
One thing that makes me wondering is seldom people know about the Swiss brand that called Titoni, with the hey days of it in 60's at Hongkong. It was a brand that knows as "affordable luxury" like Tissot.
A Real luxury piece
I like it. But I also really like the Seiko Sarb 035.
Do you have an idea about if Nivachron gives you about the same, or close to the same accuracy as Silicium?
I'm curious. If they had a version of this with a standard eta 2824, which would be more costly?
Bruce could make a McDonald's happy meal watch look great on the wrist with these shots.
Question for the owner Zachary, can you easily shoehorn in 22mm straps? Thinking of purchasing this watch but annoyed with 21mm lug width
I haven't been able to fault mine yet. I wear it regularly and it remains within 1 second of true. If it is placed on the desk it gains 5 seconds a day. It's a freak in the watch world.
I liked this watch however because of the 21mm instead got the Jubilee version of the Tissot Ballade Powermatic 80 cosc with 22mm bracelet. All in all good deal.
Finally a review with actual negatives to a watch. Subbed
Is this watch supposed to start ticking once you wind it after the power reserve is empty or do you have to move it ?
Cool man.
12 o'clock lume dot looks like a it's off centre or is it the angle of the camera?
Does the silver dial tissot gentleman have more of a greenish loom to it? Other youtube videos with different color dials seem to have more of a blue lume to it. Seems like in general it isnt very bright but i much prefer green over blue as a personal preference. if anybody knows thanks in advance
I tried this on in the Tissot shop in Zurich. Quite impressive for the price-point. Thanks for showing, Bruce!
I got the same watch but with the blue face. Got it on a royal Caribbean boat tax free NICE, I don't know how long it takes for the battery to get full because it keeps stopping if I don't wear it for a day. I also noticed it keeps track of AM/PM for the date. So it makes it fun to update it when it does stop running. I found that interesting my citizen doesn't do this.
Can you please tell us, why the gold bezel version is not 10 atm?
The Best Watch of Universe
Just bought this. First watch!
Congratulations. Could you please let me know if the centre links look too shiny? I am asking because this bracelet is a combination of polished steel and matt steel if I'm not wrong. Thanks
@@varuna6089 Polished center links are not too shiny. Matches the polished bezel and min/hr markers nicely. Personally I like the brushed steel and contrast from PCL.
What about the lack of taper on the bracelet?? I mean it tapers from 21mm to 20mm... what’s your take on it?
Great video as always Bruce!!! I bought my wife a Tissot a little while back, and I love it! Unfortunately her response was much less enthusiastic than mine. She doesn’t like the idea of that much money on her wrist. 😢. I was really hoping she would return the favor and buy me a matching one! LOL
It’s classy and sporty. Reminds me of my favorite car: the bmw z8!
Somewhat SARB-like in several senses
SARB does it better in the looks department although the 6R15 movement is no slouch either.
I feel like it’s closer to the SARX
Thanks for the informative review. I'd probably stick with my Sarb035 though, since it has better lug-size, bracelet (in my opinion), and I like the case-shape a bit more.
just bought one about two weeks ago. The diameter and case shape is perfecttt for my wrist.
I have the Sarb035 and this Tissot with blue dial. I love em both :-)
Need this in a 36-38 with a female end link 🔥
+1 would love a version in a more classic size.
Bruce, thank you for this. Now, what about a One brand watch collection from Tissot?
Thanks Bruce very professional video. What do you think of the blue quartz gentleman from Tissot ? It’s more affordable and since I’m a watch maniac I change watch almost everyday so not having to adjust time constantly is better but I feel the pressure of buying the automatic since this is what everyone seems to think is cool…
Have this in blue, so much bling. It distracts me. Love it. Between this and my BB36 my other watches don’t stand a chance.
Blue or black? Can black be boring?
@@ThiHaGadgets the blue dial is very, very dark. Only looks blue in high lighting conditions, and as a sunray effect. I think it’s really attractive, more so than black, but color is subjective.
@@drzaius844 Thank you!
22mm straps fit between the lugs. Teddy Baldassare covered that in his video on the watch.
Once you see that Tissot spells toss it backwards, you can’t unsee it.
lol that is hilarious
The hour markers resembles it’s sister company Omega with their Aqua terra line
This with a jubilee style strap would be the perfect watch.
It looks very similar to a Datejust 41mm.
Yeah, to me it’s like a Datejust had sex with an Aqua Terra and boom, this is the baby
If you put this watch on a Rubber strap. It would give it a more sporty look.
@@atl3630 😅
This is the poor man Datejust
I was thinking that it looks like an Aqua Terra dial in a Tudor 1926 case. Not bad for the price and for a bargain watch for real everyday use it’s available in quartz for $350. Then you can store your good watches for restaurants, nightclubs etc...
The Best😍😍😍
I prefer the epos sportive 3411 personally, but these are still awesome
The only things I'd change about this line is I'd drop the year under Tissot and get rid of the polish on the center links. Else it's beautiful and I'd love to have one.
Also go with a 20mm lug width instead of the 21. Bezel is a little to thick too. That much polished bezel could be a scratch magnet. Lastly, prefer the vintage font.
prep7 Hmmm...that’s interesting.
wear it everyday in black. great watch
Looks very good! I have made this comment numerous times but if that had Rolex stamped on the dial people would pay silly cash for it? I prefer quartz but that's neither here or there. Looks stunning frankly. Cheers.
Just watched again and that looks as stunning as it goes in that style. I have a very similar piece from Sekonda but the Tissot has that x factor?
Wtf with the sudden interruption of video to promote yourself? Not smooth at all
Better have some continuation between segments even the advertisement part
You can check some slick ad placements by bark and Jack or teddy
I wanted some shock value! Will go more subtle in future vids thanks Yashar
yee seemed desperate af
Nice to see a Tissot, they don't get enough love, for sure. These really punch above their weight. You can pay 4x for a similar movement in a Breitling, IWC or Doxa. Rolex OP for under a grand? Probably better finished than similar priced Seiko, certainly in the bracelet (though I can't love Tissot more than Seiko). I've been checking these for my son and very impressed, also Certina. Check them out, way better value than Omega/Rolex! Yeah, not as good, but not 6x worse!
Love
Im happy to say I got this watch, automatic with blue dial. Now Im considering to even get the silver quartz version.
