Day 18: Phrygian Mode - 30 Day Guitar Challenge

If you're like a lot of players you hear Phrygian and think, "what am I playing John Coltrane now?" And yes, 'Trane did use Phrygian on "After the Rain," but you'd be surprised all of the places Phrygian pops up in rock and metal. Check this out:
"Symphony of Destruction" by Megadeth
"Forty Six & 2" by Tool
"Remember Tomorrow" by Iron Maiden
"Wherever I May Roam" by Metallica
"Unholy Confessions" by Avenged Sevenfold
What do all those songs have in common? You guessed it: Phrygian. So wherever you are on the genre-wheel, Phrygian mode is worth a look-and lucky for you, that's exactly what we're diving in to in today's lesson!

ALRIGHT!!! WHO LEFT THE PHRYG OPEN??? Just a quick thanks to Eddie and all responsible for this series. I thought that I would pick up a couple of pointers over the 30 days, but I've had a few "that's cool", a few "Oh Wow" and a few "That's so obvious when he puts it that way" moments; some in the same video. Looking forward to the rest of the show.

Well, my comments were deleted. I was literally just taking notes and decided to share a short cut for everyone : these are the notes, and these are the fret positions for the scales. I'm pretty sure my facts were correct. Sorry if I inadvertently offended anyone. 🤷‍♂️

​@@Stringjoythe first three modes videos, I posted them and they stayed until later on day 18, all three disappeared at the same time. I went back and deleted all my other comments in the series as I had no idea when I had caused offense. Perhaps the UA-cam AI saw the letters and numbers as gibberish? Thanks for responding.
