Scotch is like getting drunk off a silk robe. If someone wanted to end their life with vodka I would empathize. But scotch is like going out on a hefty bag of bukowski poems. It’s an admirable and refreshing way to end things
I just retired. One of my gifts was a bottle of Macallan 18 Sherry Oak Cast. That's way beyond anything I've ever had. I put it on the top shelf, maybe for a special occasion?
@@MasterYourGlass I know you are right. My wife said the same thing. I'm no connoisseur of fine scotch that's for sure. I drink more modest priced dram for my after dinner enjoyment. I'll pop the cork on it soon.
This was really great, LL. Thanks for this comprehensive comparison...there’s no way the average person could ever put together something like this in one tasting. Well done, sir. Just don’t hop any scooters after this one!
For someone who likes 12 yr Sherry but not like 15yr Macallan, what would you recommend? 18 Double vs 18 Sherry? and how about Rare cask? So far the preference has been (12 yr sherry >>> 12 yr double cask > 15 yr double cask).
@@MasterYourGlass My first taste of single malt was a top shelf Glenlivet and it was NOT for me. You might have convinced me to give Macallan a try before hanging it up. Thanks for the great video!
Really good question and a tough one to answer. I like them in different occasions. For a very elevated “everyday drinker” I would prefer the 18 Year Sherry for more of its fruit notes. For a special occasion and an after dinner nightcap I’d go with the rare cask. Thanks for stopping by!
Thank you David. I also enjoy the “no need to mix, just pop the cork” episode here and there. And this one was a very tasty ride. If we lived closer I would definitely share the bottles.
Yes. Thanks for asking. Nothing goes to waste. Since I typically film 4 episodes at a time once the filming is done I can finish the drinks! Thanks for stopping by!
Great video! Thank you! Thinking about to purchase Rare Cask now.
Wonderful! Enjoy it. Thanks for watching and commenting!
They marked a time on each pour.... thumbs up I hate when I have to sift through a video for what I want to see. Merry christmas
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed!

That’s a great line up! My question is…what happened to the left over whisky in all those glasses?! It would be a shame to throw them down the drain.
Lol. Good question! Nothing goes to waste around here!
Definitely no waste! It would be nice for filming crewmen ❤❤ or anyone in that room! I would like to taste all of these one day 😊😊😊
@@MasterYourGlassThe Macallen Estate is in between the 15 & 18 & the Macallen Rare Cask is in-between the 18 & 21 but that 25 year OMG😱

Since you just retired, that special occasion is now. Don’t let it sit on your shelf. Enjoy it, my friend!

LOL. Good call Todd. Thanks for watching
These are the biggest pours ive ever seen for such expensive whisky.....

Great video! If you can remember.. what would you say is the main difference in taste between the 18 Double Cask and the 18 Sherry? Hope you’re well
Just binged Suits and was really curious about the allure of this spirit. Wondering if there is a scotch whiskey that won't make me gag...lol!
lol 😂

Which did you enjoy better
The 18 year sherry or the rare cask ?

Just the answer I was looking for. Thanks
Livio. This is a great review. I would love to get my hands on a few of those.

I do like this video. I'm going to drink one of Macallan. You are drinking so deliciously. ^^
Thank you! Enjoy your Macallan!
What a line up man!
So goooood!
You can get the 25 year at the wholesale price?
It’s currently so hard to come across that I can’t get it at any price. Cheers!
I was at a Ruth Chris in Savannah and the bartender said the Macallan 25 went for $228 a shot!
What glasses are used?
Spiegelau Premium Whiskey Snifter, Set of 4, Thanks!
Which is the best Macallan in the 18Years segment?
For me it’s the 18 year Sherry Cask. It’s a staple and hard to beat. Thanks for stopping by!
How much does the 18yr old one go for?
I am not sure as it varies by state, and to some extent maybe even by city
Can you do Dalmore please!
Hi Jeremy. Thanks for stopping by. That might take a while only because purchasing the lineup of Dalmore is $$$$$$!
True that! I think it's almost the most expensive behind macallan!
Did you eventually drink all of them? you pour eda lot on each one!
Yes. Thanks for asking. Nothing goes to waste. Since I typically film 4 episodes at a time once the filming is done I can finish the drinks! Thanks for stopping by!
