    my best tip for early players in any difficulty is to make a beeline straight for the p16 when you can, its free, it has the best tires you can use until you're level 15 or so and will make truck rescue missions, heavy hauling and high paying logging missions a total non-issue. its not fast or incredibly efficient, but when you're normally locked to just highway or allterrain tires in early game, its a godsend. as a challenge i have solo'd the majority of the kola peninsula with just the p16 as the hauler of wide flatbeds. most importantly it has the best horn in the game. if you dont get it for that then youre not a real runner

    A superb video that covers *a lot* for the beginning hard-mode player all the way up to the advanced player, so as to compare their campaign progression with and then plan their next moves well ahead of time. thank you, it is nice to know that the Yukon pays so well, wow i had no idea! i look forward to that region much more now knowing what trucks i should bring as well. thanks again, your videos are well made.

      @@NProvince FYI, not sure if you have done Maine yet, but when I unlocked the Tayga 6455b and then bought one in the DON region (to save on the deployment fee and because I have not done that area yet). I then checked the Maine Garage eventually and saw one sitting in there for free, yep, a brand new for free 6455b, stock of course, waiting there for me the whole time? [not sure if the game glitched and gave me a free one after i bought one in the DON region or if the developers put it there by design...
      but I do remember watching some content creators saying hard mode players still have to purchase one even after unlocking it... which is incorrect, maybe it was for them at the time they made the video, but that is not the case anymore & i can confirm it as of 2 hours ago. Not complaining, i now have two of them and that is great, but i spent a ton on a brand new one, and all that. would have been nice if those content creators had not led me astray as i watched those videos well before unlocking it. have a good one.

      edit: maybe they were referring to regular mode players as that would make sense since money basically grow on trees in regular mode, but hard mode players getting one in their garage for free makes the most sense after unlocking it and not a glitch. just wanted to clarify those points.

    Thanks for all the tips. I find them super handy even for regular mode as a rookie. The first 10 hours, I drove like I was irl driving. No touch the rocks, don't scratch the paint. Take zero damage, if at all possible. I found it very slow. Couple weeks of heavy play later, and I'm giggling away counting the loaf rolls down the hill and cheering when it lands wheels down, and I pop a wheelie off a rock.

      Reply for algoboost and to say it's so helpful to have the knowledge ahead of time to plan routes and loads. But I first take the time to enjoy scouting the unknown and hitting watchtowers. Then I come check your routerunner map vids to plan the trips. Freaking awesome.

    Great video! I came to see if there's any tips I could add to my current hardmode playthrough but I found that we have the same strategy. I'm halfway through Yukon and money is not an issue. I have not had to buy fuel yet.. still have plenty from cleaning out all the maps. The only thing I did different is skip ahead to Wisconsin just to rescue the paystar. I'm using that to ferry fuel between my current map and my stockpile in Alaska. Other than that, I only purchased vehicles I care to use and I sold all unlocked vehicles that did not serve me!

    Nice video! Following these points will for sure carry most players through a hard mode campaign. I respect you for doing Amur in Hard mode. I am not sure I will do it simply because I will not have a fun time. Not a fan of maps that forces you to use only the 10 biggest monster trucks in the game to get somewhere. I want maps that give you freedom to use ALL trucks.
    Using diff lock before AWD is an old trick from the days of Spintires when using AWD would punish you even harder than in Snowrunner. I think the fuel usage was doubled in Spintires for using AWD. In Snowrunner it looks more like an increase of 25 to 30% up depending on the truck and engine used.
    I think you should demonstrate this technique more in your streaming videos. It is a great way of learning the capabilities of the truck, challenge yourself and build driving skills. The fuel savings are worth it. This is demonstrated by the fact that the 6x4 trucks never really have a fuel issue.

    • @NProvince

      Thank you! I usually do toggle these features off on stream alot actually, but I can make talking points on them and where its a good idea to do so.

    • @dlmunlimited
      @dlmunlimited Рік тому +1

      @@NProvince Sorry for the long reply. What can I say...I am a Snowrunner nerd 😉
      Yes you are very active when it comes to the use of the switchable features, but what I am talking of is a technique where you always use diff lock before AWD, and not only as a support to AWD. As soon as the truck starts to loose traction I always use the low gears and enable diff lock and give it a try. If I still can´t get any traction I will use the AWD as a last resort. Pretty much how you would drive a truck with only diff lock. This technique has a double effect for fuel savings since low gear will always lower fuel consumption (compared to auto and high gear) and you are not always using AWD as a first resort. This is of course only possible with trucks that have 2 (or more) primary driving rear wheels and have switchble diff lock and AWD. The offroad gearbox is also recommended to gain access to the low plus gear which will enable better speed and power output in diff lock.
      Doing this makes fuel a lesser issue. The Boar is a perfect candidate for this technique to mitigate the high fuel burn and will still be very capable in diff lock only.

    • @NProvince
      @NProvince  Рік тому

      @@dlmunlimited Ah yes I know what you mean. I actually would have to ride around with just Diff Lock ON when I first started my All American Hardmode. I wouldnt get any DIff Lock Damage warnings on many router because we had highway tires, however whe you increase your friction with better tires the more times it will want you to kick out of Diff. That being said, usually If i know I have the builk of my weight on my rear axles and AWD is not needed, I absolutely will just use RWD and then down to Diff Lock if spinning becomes an issue. Most places you can get away with that are earlier maps or even a few later ones as well. Usually because I know generally when Im going to activate everythng, I preshift, hold and then drop them when I hit that nasty area almost at once. I really do try and guage where I can get away with just RWD though

    Gmc brigadier is one of the best trucks for hard mode in my opinion. Has good off road skills, has a fuel friendly engine, doesn't need to engage AWD all the time and it's strong enough for hauling a normal semi trailer
    It's also very damage friendly. You might finish an entire map (but not a region obliviously) without repairing it if you drive it really well

    • @NProvince
      @NProvince  Рік тому

      I can agree with this for sure. This checks. Maxpower and I have been using the Brig on our All American CoOp and the Brig has been doing great even without AWD

    I know it's very fuel hungry but I use the Paystar 5600ts in hard mode. It can do pretty much everything. Crane plus 3 slot bed plus two four slot ramp trailers. Using diff lock with awd off it really isn't that bad on fuel. And if I'm hauling 11 slots (plus up to two extra held on top with a crane) with each tank of fuel..... it's not too bad. It's stable and very strong and doesn't get stuck very often.

    I'm playing maps in order , currently in Winscousin and only have 280k. I spent too much money on useless trucks and scouts. The most important thing is to focus on trucks that are fuel efficient. Heavy & Offroad trucks that get 20 - 27L/min will eat free fuel in no time, and refuelling a fuel truck is 7k- 10k depending on region :S

    When you’re bringing fuel from one map to another, do you drive that truck all the way back again or do you retain in the garage and change maps that way? Just wondering how crazy hardcore you’re doing it.
    Also, which video do you outline your hardcore rules?
    Love your videos

    • @NProvince

      So this is just the standard hardcore that the game has. I'll always bring my trucks to the map Im on unless I know I will not use them again on that region. If Im not going to use them again, I retain them. Redeploying them costs more money so you gotta plan around that.
      Thank you! Im glad you've been enjoying them!

    Nice video but SERIOUSLY, take fioul from mission (steal), overpacking cargo, packing logs in trailer to avoid back of forth or winch trailer are just tricking the hard mode. It's just a way to avoid the cost of this mode.
    But if you don't do it you are broken. I stopped after Alaska and edited by save file : this money thing of hard mode is just broken and remove big parts of the fun gameplay.
    They need to remove the possibility of take fuel and repair from missions trailer and raise the money from contracts.
    Hard mode SHOULD improve experience by forcing you to use all part of gameplay, but not broke your money pool.

    • @NProvince
      @NProvince  Рік тому

      Thank you. So your point is that taking fuel is tricking then game, but then on the other hand you mention that “Hardmode should improver experience by forcing you to use all parts of gameplay, but not broke your money”. I would argue I am using all parts of the gameplay by taking fuel and overloading my vehicles which does add more difficulty because it’s a risk. If the devs didn’t want us to do that, they would’ve made it differently. Also on Phase 8 there is a free fuel station which is a reprieve and a chance to save some cash as well. However, hardmode is really not that hard, it’s just essentially a money, efficiency, and logistical experience. This is why I chose to make my own hardmode on my randomizer challenge which has actually made the game physically harder.

      @@NProvince this i'm doing too, i play in newgame+ with no recovery.
      Newgame+ is broken too because you can trick the game even if you choose "no fuel in garage" and "no repair in garage" by mount/dismount Addon.
      And i dislike the money issue in hardcore if you want to roleplay the game, or can't repair cosmetic damage on truck with service trailer or Addon.
      I fixe my own rule with no recovery option :
      - No steal fuel only from mission trailer
      - Sell trailer that are available
      - use all ressources of map if available
      - don't overstacking (because in this case slots trailer are pointless)
      - don't winch trailer (because its unrealistic : like winch a trailer with a cat745C almost exploit because its so easy)
      - don't recovery
      - no trailer shop abuse, can't repair or take fuel for free.
