- Maurice Béjart’s compelling staging of Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony has been enchanting audiences worldwide since its inception and its idea of universal brotherhood remains highly topical. “Alle Menschen werden Brüder” (All men will be brothers) is the powerful message communicated by the unforgettable music and choreography. From the stage of the NHK Hall in Tokyo 250 dancers and musicians send this message out into the world. “It is a ‘manifestation’, in the deepest sense of the word.” Maurice Béjart. This performance of Maurice Béjart’s “Ninth Symphony” has been performed at the NHK Hall, Tokyo on the 8th & 9th of November, 2014. It is the very first recording for TV and DVD!

C'etait le souhait de Béjart, de Maurice Huysman (directeur de la Monnaie) et de mon père (André Vandernoot, chef d'orchestre) de rendre la danse et la Musique plus accessible à tous, ce ballet en est le résultat
WHAT A BEAUTY, SENSATIONAL, DANCING WITH MR. B's TOP SYMPHONY. JUST SUPREME.....
This is an epic performance! The combination of the extraordinary music with the visually captivating performance of two outstanding ballet groups is mesmerizing. To capture the whole magnitude of this spectacle one has to watch the whole 75 minutes of the complete symphony here staged. The DVD is worth every penny, one of the best investments one can make. And this performance grows on you the more you watch it. One starts to understand the choreography, which interprets the music in the modern dance style envisioned by Béjart. I have enjoyed this master work of Beethoven for over half a century, but never identified with it as well as now with the addition of the dancing. It is a true Ode to Joy! I have to end with praising the musical interpretation, the orchestra under the direction of Zubin Mehta, and the first class quartet of soloist singers and choir. Both the soloists and the choir do a fine pronunciation of the German language, making Schiller's words easily recognizable.

¡Esto es demasiado hermoso! Se me ha erizado cada vello en mi cuerpo solo por verlo.
Y este video es solo un pequeño trozo de la completa sinfonía y ballet. Solo tres minutos del espectaculo que dura mas de una hora. El DVD completo es de grán valor. No solo la interpretación musical es una de las mejores, sino también es una muestra espectacular del atleticismo en este ballet moderno.

제국주의의 이념실현을 명분으로 평화로왔던 이웃국가들을 침탈하고 태평양전쟁을 일으켜 수많은 나라들의 국민들에게 비극적인 삶을 안겨주었던 일본이 아무런 사죄도 하지 않았는데 사랑과 평화, 인류애를 주제로 한 공연에 참여시킨 것 자체가 코메디.

I love Beethoven's music deeply and I feel similarly I find Bejart 's choreographic language , utterly lacking the grandeur, profundity and power of this symphony. On the contrary Bejart offers grandiosity , superficiality, Hubris ,
@@levicopp3224 Bejart's choreography brings out a display of physical excellence of the whole ballet ensembles, both his group and the Tokyo ballet. This matches well with the excellence of the music.
