I cry from such a beautiful melody and such a beautiful interpretation, I am not a dancer, but I always dreamed of being one and interpreting this song ... it moves me so much.
If you love it this much you should take ballet classes (I hope you do!) just for the love of doing it. Written by someone who had the opportunity to be a ballet dancer and world failed to me. Just do it for fun ♥️
I too, love, love, love this music. But I always hear deep sadness and great tragedy in it. Just feel that it doesn't belong to a sweet story like the Nut Cracker but more for The Swan Lake.
When Tchaikovskij was finishing Nutcracker, his beloved sister died. What you hear is Requiem to his sister. That is why its in Minor tone instead of Major. And that why this music is so moving and emotional.
That was magnificent. I truly think this music is one of the most romantic and moving pieces ever written. And I’m always amazed that all these lifts come at the end of a 2 hour ballet when the dancers must be tired. Incredible.
Absolutely agree! My local symphony orchestra performed ActII complete in a concert performance three weeks ago. I attended a rehearsal for it, and the conductor was saying that this segment was her favourite part of the whole ballet. The performance was absolutely thrilling.
@@tia904 others agree with you: the tone certainly isnot what one would expect in context. I have seen this attributed to tragedy in Tchaikovsky's personal life, a recent family loss, but don't know if this is the case or not.
The Orchestral side of this performance was equally stunning! 😍 I play Flute & piccolo & those tough & extremely intricate Piccolo passages were the cleanest & most stunning rendition of this I’ve EVER heard!! 🥰🪈🩰 Bravo! 🥳
Ameen to that. Regardless of what “side” you find yourself on in terms of who started what, the fact is most wars are started by politicians, not regular people. The families and children and artists who suffer and lose their homes and lives, should all be prayed for, on both sides 🤲 🙏 That is the human thing to do.
I like this performance very much. It has classical simplicity, elegance and youthfulness. As a musician (but not a dancer), I especially appreciate that the physical gestures perfectly correspond to the musical gestures. In many of the versions I've seen at youtube the choreography simply doesn't fit the music.
I like this one too. The choreography for the pas de deux that I think Peter Wright did was kind of restrained. The subtlety didn’t work with this music.
So stunningly beautiful. The sublime beauty of great music, along with incredibly skillful dance, overwhelms me. This, to me, is one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever created.
I've seen footage of Ukrainian ballerinas twirling in rubble. I've seen Syrian soldiers singing in a haunting chorus. I've seen revolutionaries and refugees tangoing as dust swirls around them. Artists will always, always make art.
That synchrony and symbiosis between a towering Russian composer and Ukrainian artists leaves me anguished, How similar are the peoples of both nations. How loved are the great Russian artists by not just Ukrainians but the world. I dream of a time when the two nations resume brotherly and sisterly bonds.
There are no Ukrainian artists, there is just a unique Russian ballet school.. As a ballerina, there is no politics in my words, just common sense. People tend to forget or not remark obvious things
@@shirokastranamoya Is the Russian school of ballet the Vaganova method? So, Vaganova’s method is a way to teach a simplified version of French ballet, the way Vaganova understood it, in the opinion of Petipa himself, she understood it very approximately and flatly. This is not “Russian ballet”, but a Soviet castrated version of French ballet, there is a lot of sports and pathos in it. In Kyiv, even before Vaganova, ballet was taught by real French and Italians who were fully proficient in ballet technique. After the October Revolution, almost everyone went abroad. Fortunately, recently ballet schools in both Russia and Ukraine practically do not follow Vaganova’s method of teaching Soviet ballet. indeed, there is no politics (I mean the conventional sense of the word) in your comment, but there is pure disgusting Russian chauvinism...

This is by far my favorite variation of this dance. The lifts were beautiful and are my favorite for this particular pas. For some reason even though the classic variation of the dance has her sit on his shoulder I much more prefer the lift and glide as for me it adds to the romance. This one made me tear up for sure. Watching this on Christmas 2024!
Superlativi.Bighin GIULIO RENZO. 😊😊😊😊😊😊
Not the best camera work- it's a pas de deux, yet we were left wondering what the Prince was doing much of the time. Some stunning lifts, though, bravo! The music never disappoints and I felt the dancers felt the drama of it.
I think much pf the camer angles were purposeful as the female dance is really meant to be shown. I do agree with you though, would love to see the gentleman’s movement
I like Christmas and ballet. I have written about Christmas, and I took ballet classes. One of my favorite parts of The Nutcracker music is for the "coffee, Arabian" dance. Love, Hollie Jean Huff
The Nutcracker has the best pas de deux and music
It's what makes it magic

I love PITchai; this is nothing more than descending notes of the natural minor scale but he did a lot with it.
