I'm so glad you have reviewed the risa! I have a tenor and I keep it by my living room chair....practice while watching TV...and I don't bother anyone else in the room. I absolutely love it and wouldn't be without one. I had a concert but needed a little more fret space, thus the tenor.
I have a concert and LOVE it. Bought it when the pandemic started and I think it's what kept me sane during those months. I could play any time, didn't bother anyone
I had the tenor one,it was amazing, mostly the plugged in sound, sadly it was only usable in certain rooms or otherwise made some annoying ground Hum noise...i'm thinking to give it another chance...maybe a concert one this time :)
I’ve owned a Risa Concert for several years.. The neck profile is almost square and not to my taste.. Not sure if it’s just mine, but plug it into an amp connected to the main electrical supply and there’s a ground “hum”.. I went through to check the grounding on the Risa, but it looks OK.. I used it for two gigs and went back to my beloved Republic Resonator.. It’s in my gig bag as a reserve.. Seeing this vid reminded me I need to put it on eBay…
@@romalondra I wouldn’t recommend it as it may not have the lateral strength to support the amount of tension steel strings require.. I’m now looking at the purpose built solid body electric ukes.. Sadly they seem to be quite poor quality..
To all those who comment about the sound. It is about the amp and how you play it. Have a look at "Friends Of Old Puppy" on you tube, all will become clear. These are not toys.
Honestly, the sound you’re getting on them is not selling them - the recording is tinny and there’s too much room. They can sound way better than this demo. You should have mentioned pairing with a headphone amp, and played some styles other than just strumming. Nice to see the instruments reviewed, though.
Thanks for the review, but the distortion you are using is just bad to my ears. I have a risa concert, and sound quality is much better than it seems from this video.
Love my Risa! I play it unplugged most of the time, it's so quiet then, for practice with people around.

Glad you did a review of the Risa stick! Didn't quite know what to think when I saw them on the website. Pretty cool!
That’s weird but the sound…
Very cool. I've been trying to come up with something small and portable, that I could practice quietly with. This may be what I need.
Whoa, these are cool!💖

Love the soprano. Is the amp separate?
You are correct the amps are sold separately. Here are some amp suggestions terrycartermusicstore.com/search?type=product&q=amps
Would these be a good choice for a lefty?

@@romalondra it has an underbridge, transducer type pickup..
Magnetic coil pickups need steel strings..

Thanks for the review. I'm going to check one out for myself.
Awesome 😎
Hello, I bought one but it doesn't sound amplified, do I have to do something?
Steel strings or nylon?
a useful, practical musical tool for what it is!
Very cool!!!

100%
🙋♂️Hey on your Ukulele pocket chord print, is the Dsus4 suppose to be like that? 🤔....thanks for all the videos leaning alot
When I first saw them: Oooohhh, so cool!
When I heard them: Owwww, make it staahp!

Love the idea, love the look, was so appalled by the sound, I can't even consider giving it another look.
Looks like Daniel Hulbert's designs from Circuits and Strings ...
Look great, wish they had a Baritone
Wish that they didn't sound like hmm, and then I'd wish they made a bari.
what are other solidbody baritone alternatives? I am struggling to find something please:)
Is soprano too small
