"The best way to handle that is to play the left hand soft and as effortless as possible."..I really liked your adaption, and the way you played it more mysterious and mezzo piano..however i dont really agree that quote above..and if you want to play it loud and proud the whole duration of the song, I would say practice taking the tension off you're wrist on really only use the muscles and joints in your fingers (thumb and pinky to be specific since you're playing octaves)
