The videos iconography is inspired by surrealism, more specifically from some selected paintings from this genre (if yall do a google search you will find them). So in the video it's like she's on a acid trip and "meeting" the worlds depicted on those paintings, they came alive and she's a part of the surreal, a realm were meanings are profound, associated with images and not attached to day-to-day logic, just like the psychoanalysis description of unconscious.

This video was state of the art when it was released. People had never seen effects like this in a music video. They would play it at the big gay dance club and everyone would stop dancing and just stare at the screens.

Bedtime Story video was completely inspired by all the female surrealist painters like Leonora Carrington and Remedios Varo. The one shot where her hands are up in the air and stars are spinning around her and Madonnaflying through the hallway with her hair trailing behind , the birds flying out of her open robe - all of those images were an homage to female surrealist painters; there's a little bit of the painter Frida Kahlo in there, too

I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE your interpretations, so much of them are very accurate. The video was inspired mostly by surreal paintings from different artists like Remedios Varos, Leonora Fini, Frida Khalo, Leonora Carrington, Lucien Freud, and as well From the movie "The color of pomegranates" (And I loved that you said that Lady Gaga would be the Madonna of this generation because she has been following the same steps and her work it's very similar, even her last video 911 was inspired as well from this same movie and it has similar connections from this Madonna video).
You will notice quite a few actors/models used in this from the film "The Fifth Element." (If you have not watched that, it's a must!)
Madonna is like the beatles, elvis.. gaga doesnt even come close. She's the first female artist to tour big stadiums (filling wembley stadium 8 times a few years into her career). You don't know how huge she was. Even in the early 00s and later on she broke records. She's also the first with the most online livestreams (back in 2000). a record that still isn't broken. the other girls don't even come close.

Madonna has no modern day equivalent, her impact is huge, Globally huge before internet and only the Beatles, Elvis and Michael Jackson have sold more records. She is also the most successful solo touring artist of all time. No Female singer is anywhere near her record sales globally, the nearest is Celine Dion and she is around 45 million records behind. She is still releasing albums which still sell and her last Album was number one in the States where she is not as appreciated as say in Europe. This particular video has inspired the whole The Cell movie with Jennifer Lopez (visually)
The videos iconography is inspired by surrealism, more specifically from some selected paintings from this genre (if yall do a google search you will find them). So in the video it's like she's on a acid trip and "meeting" the worlds depicted on those paintings, they came alive and she's a part of the surreal, a realm were meanings are profound, associated with images and not attached to day-to-day logic, just like the psychoanalysis description of unconscious.

1º At the beginning of clip, we can see 'The All Seeing Eye", the highest symbol of the Illuminattis. This eye welcomes Madonna, by displaying a 'welcome' notice as we see a Madonna going through a sort of trance and heading for a state of 'unconsciousness'. This video refers to a 'cosmic journey' or 'astral travel' which Madonna experiences, in which 'words are useless' and this journey can only be done by means of the mind.
2º Below this notice, we can see the legend "Ciconne, M.", which may mean Ciconne is masonic or "Ciconne, Madonna".
3º The blue liquid running down a crystal tube represents the 'blue blood' or 'cold blood' from the Masons, which finally makes her wake or become 'lucid'. This situation reveals that Madonna is mentally controlled by her Mason Masters, who decide when she must be lucid and when she must not.
4º Madonna is seen singing with a sunflower behind her. This represents the symbol of the Sun, which is usually cult object in Secret Societies and old pagan religions.
