Thank you!!!! This has been my favourite era so far and seeing how much you all love it and loved the reaction means the world! Like I said, I truly feel like I'm living within each era and the years they were released and hearing from you about your experiences and love for Madonna add SO much to my experience, THANK YOU!!!! ❤
Vogue at the VMA's was definitely lip synced. They even announced before the performance that it would be lip synced. This is the day Madonna turned America gay lol.
Vogue (Girlie Show) - Took one month to choreograph. So intricate.
Justify My Love (Girlie Show) - Grand fashion ball. Orbit 12" Mix version.
Vogue (Reinvention Tour) - The yoga poses in the beginning. Insane.
Vogue (Sticky & Sweet Tour) - New sound & choreography. Quickly became a fan favorite.
Vogue (MDNA Tour) - Fashion magazine refresh.
Justify My Love (MDNA Tour) - Video interlude remix.
32:32 Context: Sooner or Later became the awards darling from I'm Breathless/Dick Tracy. The album, that song, and her Oscars performance was the start of Madonna improving her singing, crafting a more mature tonal quality (compared to her first few albums), and showing critics she can handle more vocally demanding material. This improvement in her vocals and the success of Dick Tracy / Sooner or Later would ultimately lead to Madonna playing Evita in 1995 wherein she would win the Golden Globe for her performance. Madonna's improved vocals from extensive training for the role would then set her up to deliver the best vocals of her career on the critical and commercial success, Ray of Light, widely seen as her magnum opus. People like the Oscars performance because she looks glamorous, actually sings live, and it marks the start of Madonna the singer rather than Madonna the dancer.
@@got2bjosh 🙂 "Vogue (Sticky & Sweet Tour) - New sound & choreography. Quickly became a fan favorite." 🙂 AMEN!! React to this if you can finagle it. This live version blew me to Bermuda and back! 🙂
I think the Sooner or Later fascination is that so many critics until this day rip Madonna apart saying she is only successful for her controversy and can not sing. This was a more serious crowd, being the Oscars and her date for the evening was Michael Jackson. Keep in mind the massive quantity of material Madonna was putting out at this time. Like a Prayer was literally only 1+ years ago, plus a tour, a movie, a soundtrack album with 2 hit singles from the album, a documentary, and a greatest hits album which produced 2 massive singles. Madonna was a daily water cooler discussion. Hard news reported on her, Music news reported on her, daytime talk shows dedicated entire shows to talk about her, universities created classes to analyze her, video channels ran 24 hour Madonnathons on a regular basis, radio played a minimum of 2-3 songs every hour on the hour - I have never seen an artist with as much exposure as she was getting at this point.
Oh my God.... I CANNOT COMPREHEND THAT LIKE A PRAYER CAME OUT A YEAR AGO BEFORE THIS... What. WOW. Like this entire comment blew my mind... the amount of material... that exposure and then to watch this interview where she is so level headed and in control, I just cannot anymore. It's so hard to believe this even happened hahaha.
THANK YOU for this comment!!!!
I agree!!!! This comment was awesome, thank you 💙👍👊zane
My girl pointing that pen in the interview, still gives me life.
HAHAHAHAHHA SLAYED ME
If you liked that interview you NEED to watch her documentary Truth or Dare. It covers the Blond Ambition Tour period. You can see a lot more of her personality. Hope we can see you react to it. 🙏🏻🤞🏻
Yessss, I think it's in the journey blue print hehe
Remember this was Scandalous in the 90,s yet she sole 1 Million VHS casettes Smart brilliant move ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
The Justify My Love ending quote.
"Poor is the man whose pleasures depend on the permission of another."
LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!
Best Lyric ever
Madonna at the peak of her powers. Would recommend the immaculate collection massively, the hits blend together so well with the Q sound and there are different versions of like a prayer and express yourself !
Justify My Love went strait to no. 1
The performance of vogue at the MTV awards is beyond groundbreaking if you ask me! Madonna brought theatre, costuming, theming, choreography and so much more into it at a time when most live acts were a mere singer and band in the background. Or a couple of dancers max. With everything she did back then she was truly paving the way for so much of what we see today in the music industry. Also yes she’s lip syncing intentionally! There was no mic or attempt to make it look like it was live. But that was a sort of tribute to the queer ballroom scene and drag culture that she discovered voguing from. She was in drag essentially! Just decades ahead of its time. And I love that you got to see that interview too. just helps put into context how daring she’s always been. Epic reaction as always
Also MTV would not let her have a live mic after all the swear feats during the Blond Ambition Tour. They only agreed to her performing if she lip synched.
Not until recently did I realize that “politician blazer” she wears in the Nightline interview is one she tries on in the shopping sequence in Truth or Dare. It’s the one someone says reminds them of Rhythm Nation.
There are few facts that made Oscar performance so ICONIC ."She found the time to imitate Monroe’s classic line from “Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend” by instead declaring, “Talk to me General Schwarzkopf, tell me all about it!” in lieu of invoking Harry Winston’s name. ( He was the man in charge of leading the coalition forces in the Gulf War that started one month before ), we sense less a form of topical reverence and more a question of ethicality in war"
"While there were several other mentions of the Gulf War that evening, it was Madonna’s-while dressed in her eye-catching pinup number-that would become the most memorable and iconic… along with the simple fact that she showed up to the awards ceremony with MICKAEL JACKSON was her date" ( the kiss at the end is for him ).
Another twist of irony she addressed the phrase “A girl can get awfully…awful in the spotlight,” to Kevin Costner ( you have to see Truth or Dare to understand why ) .
Fun fact : you Can see Madonna throwing something to the public at the end of the song.... It was one of her Harry Winston's diamonds earrings ( millions of dollars ) that fell from her ear 🤣🤣. Thank you for your reaction.
25:41 Yes!!! The PEN was iconic 😂🖊
That interview literally is why she is the Queen of Pop and inspiration to all aritste after.... Now you see how they all are taking bits from Madonna.. She is the trailbazer and the first.. and perhaps the last.
90’s Madonna is unmatched!
You’ve fallen in love with our glorious leader at the real point where she became Queen of Pop. So good to see you experiencing what we did as teenagers 30+ yrs ago. Ben, you’re so cool. Glad you are on this journey.
LITERALLY! That interview just did it for me, I love her!
I am SO glad to be experiencing this and having everyone along for the journey!!! THANK YOU!!!

WHY THE "Sooner or Later" PERFORMANCE IS CONSIDERED ICONIC:
During this era, Madonna went from "World Super Star" to "MEGA GLOBAL MEDIATIC PHENOMENON ICON". This is era where people in the industry started referring to her as THE QUEEN. At this point she had broken so many industry records and artistic boundaries. The Immaculate Colletction, The Blonde Ambition Tour, The TRUTH OR DARE documentary played in MOVIE THEATERS, the MTV MADONNA Marathon Weekends, Dick Tracy movie and her song nominated for an OSCAR. She was on top of the world.
But in spite of all this success, one area that had not improved much, was that of MUSIC CRITICS. It was as if the more commercial success she had, the worst the reviews would become. "She can't sing", "She can't dance", "She has NO TALENT", "She relies solely on controversy", "She relies on the talents of others.... She could not do a performance all by her self", blah, blah, blah. Those are the kind of things critics would write about her, and up until this point, Madonna had not even been nominated for a Grammy. (She was too controversial and not "classy" enough).
Then, the Oscar nomination came along. The Oscars do not allow the use of playback. As a condition, singers have to sing LIVE; so as you can imagine, the anticipation for this performance was SKY HIGH!!!. Madonna saw this as an opportunity to SHUT THEM UP, decided to perform BY HERSELF (no dancers or back up singers), with a Live Orchestra, singing LIVE a song composed for classical theater and Lo & Behold, she pulled off the vocal performance of a lifetime. This is why this performance is so fervently revered by her fans.
honey, you're not ready for Erotica's sexiness and humour
hahahah omg
Madonna took all the push backs and attacks back in the day so all the pop girls today can express their true, creative selves. All hail the Queen!!
LITERALLY THIS!!!!
and sadly they pretend they dont, huh he gaga
@@SuperQueenMadonna her work just doesn’t age that well for the most part. Ballads are strong.
@@taintedlife2618 says noone but u..lol
@@taintedlife2618 ahaha you are so wrong it’s funny ! Her work especially her early work is still very current !
The immaculate collection her greatest hits album from 1983-1990 sold 30 million albums worldwide. Justify my love peaked at No.1 in the USA and no.9 in Australia.
Rescue me peaked at No.9 in the states and 15 in Australia.
Sooner it later imo I’d her great live performance ever!! Period
Truly insane figures! Especially for a greatest hits album!!!
@@bennshouts the immaculate collection is the highest selling greatest hits album by a female artist. It is her highest selling album of all time shows how huge she was in the 80’s
A few years ago Madonna named Justify My Love as her personal favorite of all of her music videos. Isn't it amazing how this shamelessly provocative video somehow manages to remain tasteful?
RIGHT?! It's so beautiful yet so boundary pushing!
1989-1992 were arguably Madonna's most creative, culture shaping, influential, and button pushing years. There was truly no one like her at the time, and there hasn't been since. Madonna was fighting against so many forces that were trying to hinder various groups within society: women, LGBTQIA+, people of color, anyone who wasn't "Christian", and many others. She put up a mirror to everyone through her music, movies, performances, and videos which made many love her, but also, made many despise her. She was my generation's rebel and hero for self expression and self empowerment.
The Immaculate Collection is one the biggest ever selling Greatest hits album of all time still.
Honestly, at this point, isn't everything she does the biggest selling thing of all time?! Haha, iconic!!!
Not one of the biggest THEEEE biggest selling compilation album by any solo artist ever - official 🙂
I'm sure others will point out similar things but: 1) YOUR REACTIONS ARE SAVING LIVES!! 2) "Justify My Love" was a #1 hit (one of her biggest), which is a testament to how huge she was at the time since it's not very radio-friendly. 3) Another great interview where she talks about a lot of serious issues is MTV's Dinner With Madonna (promoting her documentary). 4) The MTV performance shows off her stage presence and was just iconic in terms of presentation, and "Sooner or Later" is just a great vocal performance and I think fans love it because she's often diminished because of her voice. "Rescue Me" is also one of her best vocal performances - she could have sang the backup singer's part in "Like a Prayer" with that voice!
Omg 🥹 You are the sweetest, ever! Thank you!!
I love reading about her successes, honestly, the records she broke is just incredible and MIND BLOWING! I totally agree with the Sooner or Later, now knowing more about it and the time etc it makes sense why it's so loved! And like I mentioned, towards the end her vocals! SO STRONG! Loved seeing the growth!!!
❤️
What people forget is this was over 30 years ago. The world was a very different place. What you take for granted now was because of people like madonna.
I was 15 when this news interview came on. I thought she was so smart and ahead of her time.
Truly!!!
The immaculate collection had remixed versions. Like a prayer on TIC is completely different
Vocally sooner or later was next level no one thought she could sing that well I guess that’s why it’s so iconic for fans it justifies why she is the queen!
YASSS
i lover her too. and i love u too. ur madonna reactions are really good.
❤️❤️❤️❤️
QUICK TRIVIA ABOUT THE "Sooner or Later" PERFORMANCE
As you correctly noticed, there is a brief instance in which you can see Madonna's hand trembling. In a later interview, she did confess she was nervous about this performance because she understood the importance and the massive impact it would have on her career, but aside from all that, there was a little incident that nobody knew about, that took place, right before she appeared on stage. Her microphone pole was supposed to telescope from under the stage, and as she was being raised up to the stage, a technical crew guy yelled at her: "You're microphone is not going up!!!!" so in the few LONG seconds Madonna was with he back towards the audience, she was thinking: "I'm going to turn around and there will be no microphone, and then what do I do ???"
The mic was supposed to be also pink and she lost one of her earrings . It was caught in her hair, that explain the move just before the end when she throw away the earring ;)
Please do the "Truth or Dare" documentary!!! It's epic. One of the most important documentaries in history of pop culture.
Yesss, it will be coming! x
@@bennshouts and after that there are 2 interviews about it that you will love love love. She's amazing.
@@bennshouts OMG thats fantastic. I see so many Madonna reaction videos but no-one ever seems to do Truth or Dare. If you love seeing her personality come through in the Nightline interview then you will love Truth or Dare. Its Epic. God bless Ryan for his input. A true fan. I will deff join Patreon to watch the full lenth version of that. Hahaha
RYAN IS A GODDESS! I love him so much for taking me on this journey and doing it with absolute care! HAHA yes, the uncut's are always more fun ;)
Great reaction as always. I will focus on Sooner or Later. It was not written by Madonna, but was written by American composer Stephen Sondheim and produced by Madonna and Bill Bottrell, the song was used in the parent film, Dick Tracy.
It would also win an Academy Award.
She sang the song live at the 63rd Annual Academy Awards because it was nominated for an Oscar.
While very different from her other performances since it was not for the mass audience her fans, but for the audience attending the Oscar’s. As a musical artistic chameleon she turned that live performance into perfection for the Oscar’s and is one of my favorite live performances of all time.
Knowing this information, I can see why it is so iconic, because it isn't like anything else! I think knowing where she was performing too plays a huge part too, especially with the times. Again, it's so hard to REALLY understand sometimes, because these type of award shows just aren't like they were back in the day!
@@bennshouts I think the main reason why awards shows are not perceived as good as they were in the 80’s and 90’s was due to the current day stars like Taylor Swift, Adele, Sam smith, Ariana Grande ect do not hold a candle to the legends before. Back in the 80’s, 90’s and I’ll even say the 00’s legends such as Michael Jackson, Madonna, prince, George Michael, Elton John, Whitney Houston, Janet Jackson and Mariah Carey had real stage presence and were with great dancers and performers or were brilliant vocals
Loved your reaction as always. So just a quick little story for ya. The Justify My Love video came out when I was like 14yrs old and I was giving a class presentation at high school on censorship. So little 14 year old gay me decided to take in my VHS copy of Justify My Love and play it to the class as part of the presentation. Needless to say it didn’t go down well and my teacher had a heart attack jumping up and running across the classroom to turn it off less than 1 minute in 😆 lol. I was given a stern talking to afterwards of course.
And just one last point, it’s always important to keep in mind that all of this was at the height of the AIDS epidemic so we were being told that sexuality, sex and particularly queerness were bad and dangerous by the media like every day (not a great thing to be told when you’re discovering your sexuality), which is why Madonna fans can be a little overly fanatical at times because she played such a big part in helping a lot of us survive the 1990s.
EROTICA IS NEXT THEN? Iconic can’t wait it’s literally her best album imo very good 10/10
You’re reactions literally are the highlight of my day!!!
Back in the day, they really came for Madonna, in a way that Gaga never had to deal with. And I also love Lady Gaga.
Omg this reaction is SO GREAT!!!!! I can watch again
ThNk u
👍💙👊zane
Rescue Me is such an underrated song, deserved an official music video. Immaculate Collection is the highest selling compilation album by a solo artist
100%!!!
Yay love this! ❤
Madonna is always a boss during interviews. Loves it! Always in control.
ICON!!!!
oh my god oh my god, wait for erotica and the video it’s INTENSE, so excited to see this, this was a huge deal back in the day, also the first ever video single
SO KEEN FOR EROTICA! Everyone keeps talking about it hahaha!
The fact that it was the first video single.... deceased!
@@bennshouts you said you wondered if she would get more defiant and controversial…welcome to Erotica! Although the official video is what got banned, there’s an uncut version that had sort of an industry release only that’s now out there and woah… you see everything. Lol. A video documenting what she did for her accompanying Sex photography book. No pop artist has ever dared to go as far as she did, even now.
HAHAHA I AM SO KEEN OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!
I can’t wait for you to see the Erotica era!
I must say you are my favourite Madonna music reviewer of all time. And you Aussie mate which is even better 👍
Aww thank you!! 🥰🥰
I love you dude but her performance of Sooner or Later was EVERYTHING! Some of the best vocals of her career, she looked a million bucks and performed the absolute shit out of it 😍
I knowwww, I get it more now haha
The Immaculate Collection is Madonna's biggest selling album. It has sold more than 30 million copies, making it one of the biggest selling albums ever, the biggest selling compilation by a solo artist to this day and it went straight to No 1 in Australia going 12 x Platnium in OZ! The Vogue performance at the MTV awards was lip synced but at this time lip syncing was pretty standard. The thing to mention is that you'll NEVER see Madonna perform any of her songs in the same way. You saw her do Vogue one way in the Blonde Ambition Tour, you saw her do it completely different at the MTV Awards and it's performed differently EVERY time it's performed live in a concert or show. This is part of the reason why she is known as the Queen of Reinvention. Not only does she reinvent herself constantly throughout her career, she also reinvents her hit songs at every single concert! The MTV Awards Performance was considered ground breaking because everyone more broadly, other than those who had been to or had seen her concert, got to see her put on a full on show performance. I think it just stunned a lot of people because they had never seen a pop star do this on top of all the cheeky things she did as part of the performance e.g a fair bit of groping, etc. For the Sooner or Later performance at the Academy Awards, she absolutely stole the show and everyone was floored by her live vocals and her Marilyn Munroesque look and performance. Despite all the naysayers and critics, no one could deny any longer that she was legit and incredibly talented as she killed it on the biggest stage in the world! She turned up to this Academy Awards with Michael Jackson as her date! The two biggest pop stars in the world - it was literally headline news! The song from the Dick Tracey movie was nominated for Best Original Song and won the Academy Award. Unfortunately, they only award the songwriter. If they awarded the singer then she would have won an Oscar! Justify My Love was the lead single from the Immaculate Collection album and it reached No 4 in Australia and No 1 in USA. It was a collaboration between Madonna and Lenny Kravitz, who wrote the song together! Like you saw in the interview, MTV refused to air the music video and it was banned. The fact that it was banned only made EVERYONE want to see it even more. The only other music video banned at around that time was I Want Your Sex by George Michael - I think you can detect the theme around what gets a music video banned! Funnily enough, it wasn't banned in Australia. It got an M rating and was screened on Rage on the ABC. Since it was banned they came up with the idea of releasing it as a video single (VHS cassette). Madonna was the first artist to ever release a video single and it went absolutely gangbusters and made her more money than what it would have had they released it via the standard route with MTV! It was priced at a fairly significant premium and as you can guess, the video went to No 1 on the video charts at the time as well and the packaging of the video was deliberately designed to look like a 'dirty/seedy' video haha! I still have my copy of it that I bought when it came out! I think that the TV interview of a major TV network demonstrates perfectly how much controversy Madonna was generating by what she was doing. The music video was super confronting for the time and was considered to be too sexually explicit. The fact that it was about sexual fantasies caused outrage, let alone seeing men and women up close sexually, but also men with men, women with women, men dressed as women, women dressed as men, same sex kissing, simulated sex, references to BDSM, threesomes and group sex. Btw, the super hot guy in the video was Tony Ward, Madonna's model boyfriend at that time. And, the words at the end of the video are "Poor is the man whose pleasures depend on the permission of another." Rescue Me wasn't actually planned to be released as a single, but because it got lots of airplay it was eventually released as a single but without an official music video. Madonna wrote this song with Shep Pettibone - the guy she wrote Vogue with! I think where you're up to at the moment on your 'Majourney', you're starting to really understand the impact that Madonna has had not just on music but on society in general. Madonna is the OG who has made it possible for women in music today to do what they do. She was the first to break every taboo and to break down every barrier for women and for a whole range of minorities. No female artist or even no artist (male or female) will ever be able to have the same impact as Madonna, because she literally did everything first and with the biggest impact! Finally, since you loved the TV interview so much, you gotta watch In Bed with Madonna, her documentary following her on the Blonde Ambition Tour. It's the last thing you need to do cap of this era and you'll really get to know her from watching that!
My heart filled with joy watching you go through this. I’ve learned so much from her it’s an utter blessing. I saw it live and I remember saying to myself that I want to be a genius like her. A genius with a genius heart.
17:23 I remember seeing this interview when it happened live! She was right on when she said "I chained myself though... there wasn't a man who put that chain on me... chained to my desires." - She let him have it. It showed the limitations and hypocrisy that mainstream media was pushing.
Love you vibing to JML Such a good song.
There is an important reason why she is lipsyncing at the Vogue Performance, it was an homage to the Ball Culture, where drag queens just mimic a song while dancing.
Pd: "Justify my Love" became the best selling video in music history, still is.
Hi from Uruguay 🇺🇾 Love your reactions 💚
HELLO URUGUAY!!! 💙
The fact that her Oscars date for that evening was Michael Jackson is pretty iconic too …
YES!!!!
Yet SO ODD
Congratulations on your video posting. Actually I had already watched this Madonna interview and I found it very interesting but I liked your comments on the interview plus the two songs that I enjoyed quite a lot in the past and still today they get me going into something. Hugs from Brazil São Paulo. Algis/ P.S. Sorry for my poor English.
The immaculate collection was engineered in “Q sound” were you sit in front and between two speakers. We tried this and music seems to surround your head. Almost like what you hear in headphones.
Not very practical today but back then people had stereo station: record player, cassette, radio and equalizer with two standing speakers. You don’t really see these anymore.
Oh wow, another first! CANNOT KEEP UP WITH HER!!!
i love it when you say you're keen on seeing something: side note. also, more madge vadge please!
love ur reaction, especially to the interview. madonna was 100% right and so are you.
Thank you!!! 💞💞💞
Madonna ❤️
we couldnt goggle this we had to wait for it to air heheheheheheheh❤❤❤❤😂😂😂😂
Holy cow that remastered VMA performance looks incredible! I had no idea that was out there - I thought the crappy version on her official channel was the only one. Thanks for making me aware!
I’ve been loving your Madonna journey. I became a fan in 8th grade during Like a Prayer and living through this era was incredible. It’s hard to describe just how big Madonna was in culture at this point. There’s just no modern equivalent. It was so fun to witness it all in real time. You’d also enjoy tue Truth or Dare movie, which I see other people are pushing for. I know it’s a lot of content, but it ads so much cultural context. Her career calms down after this, so it won’t always be this way. Great reactions! Cheers!
"she is too much" lmfao love her 🤣
at the end it says "poor is the man who's pleasures depend on the permission of another" great review btw!
Love the quote so much!
And thank you!!!
If u want to hear an amazing Madonna speech. Watch Madonna speech at the woman of the year. The full speech. It really gives u an impact of what she went through in her career
The david letterman 1995 interview is even more provocative ❤️
She gets nervous on a one live song but she won the grammy for best original song ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Justify my love is on my top 5 ever Madge tunes
I SEE WHY!
Rescue is such an amazing song - I actually prefer it to vogue now I just wish she would have done a video or performance tour
Wow. Exciting to see this amazing collection of clips all in one go! Overwhelming in the best possible way!
The reporter who interviewed her sometimes gets some hate but honestly I think he was just playing devil's advocate and respectfully asking the "hard questions" which she fielded like a pro (in her very proper Chanel jacket)
He does a couple more very thoughtful interviews with her in years to come, so I do believe there was some mutual respect going on there.
Thing about the Sooner or Later performance, I think, is the strong vocals, the full orchestra and her captivating stage presence (the Bob Mackie gown and Harry Winston diamonds also a nice touch 😊)
Song won the Oscar that year. Her date for the evening was Michael Jackson so of course their appearance together overshadowed most anything else about the event.
Anyway hard to compare it (apples to apples) to the Vogue performance, which was such a spectacle with a wholly unexpected and unpredictable aesthetic.
Really enjoyed this! Thanks so much!
RIGHT?! It's honestly some of the best clips and all at once just is overwhelming, but incredible!
Yeah I agree, I was becoming defensive haha, but I still think he did a great job and it allowed her to get her point and message across!
When she appeared onstage at the Oscars, there was technical difficulty resulting in the mike not appearing from below the ground, and a stagehand passing it to her. According to Madonna's brother Christopher Ciccone, she was quite nervous during the performance; "had she been singing to an audience of screaming fans, she wouldn't have been at all nervous. But this time she was performing in an auditorium full of established actors and actresses, a group of people to which she really didn't belong, who didn't respect her as an actress but whose respect she desperately wanted to win."
Aww hate that she felt like that, but so glad she SLAYED it!
Madonna is so intelligent and articulate, I love watching her interviews, I'd suggest to react to more of them!! ❤
The Vogue performance was actually ranked #2 on Billboard magazine's list of the best performances in the history of MTV Video Music Awards. The dress Madonna wore for that was from the movie Dangerous Liasons (which also inspired the entire performance). In the movie Glen Close wore that dress.
And yes, Madonna talked in interviews about how nervous she was during the Oscars performance of Sooner or Later in front of that very special crowd.
Ohhhh, iconic dress then! Love that!
;_; her being nervous is so cute too!
Actually this is the beginning of Erotica Era... 😎😏
dear Benn today is the 30th anniversary of the "Erotica" record! hope we get your reaction soon?!
MADONNA is the best that's ever done it!!!!!
YESS more interviews
You also need to react "This used to be my playground". Its a good emotional ballad.
Living for your Madonna reactions! There is no popstar alive or deceased as courageous or outspoken as her. She risked her entire career for what she believed in and she'd do it all over again. After her protest against the Iraq War, the media blackballed her, but she still persists. She is the definition of zero fucks given, and it's everything.
The Justify my Love video was shot in a Paris hotel by Jean Baptiste Mondino and ppl lost their damn shit in orgasms of prurience and moral panic. It was hilarious watching the general public freak out like someone molested their paraplegic grandma. To this very day it is the biggest selling music video of all time and this song was a number one smash hit all across the world. What a smart unapologetic and fearless creative genius. You couldn't fuck with her if you tried. She led and everyone else followed in awe and amazement. Line 'em up and knock' em down. A true rebel and peerless pioneer that single-handedly opened the door for so many abused and bullied minorities. Oh and BTW The Immaculate Collection left off so many of her huge hits some of them worldwide number one smash hits from the previous 8 years. The biggest selling greatest hits collection of all time. So them bitches need to bow down in silent reverence and shut the fuck up. J
Love your reactions ❤
Loved your reactions throughout all the video. She was sickening at that interview. Everyone should see how she fought for where we are today. Keep doing what you’re doing. 🙌🏼 Kisses from Brazil 🇧🇷💚😽
Awesome reaction as always!! If you thought Justify My Love pushed boundaries, wait until the 92’ era.( lol) this is her S.E.X era, and when you get there, please react to the Erotica uncensored video, you’ll put in some work in editing, but you won’t regret it. Ha,Ha
Hehe thank you! ❤️ I am so excited for Erotica! EVERYONE is saying how good it is haha!
@@bennshouts - Yes, the whole Erotica album was such an underrated masterpiece for the time, so far ahead of it’s time actually. Also, if you get a chance, look up pics from Madonna’s sex book, it was the most daring & downright salacious project any female/male entertainer has ever produced, I think. ;)
Lenny Kravitz co-wrote Justify My Love and the haunting voice in the background is his voice. ❤
Loveeeee
❤❤❤
the line at end of Justify My Love "poor is the man who's pleasure depends on another" which was missread as a conversation about consent, not the case. Madonna expressed many times later that it meant (basically) don't let someone that doesn't agree or even understand censure your sexual fantasy exploration
Tony Ward (the male model in Justify and Madonnas Boyfriend at one point) is so gorgeous! He’s also in Cherish, Erotica, and Belinda Carlisle’s I Get Weak video. She should have stayed with that man!
OMG! Not Jose Gutierrez Xtravaganza being the rubber man!!! I had never made the connection! I wonder if he subconsciously inspired the rubber man?!
Sooner or later was only iconic because Madonna's date was Micheal Jackson - 1991 was the peak of their career and both the Queen and King of Pop together for the awards as Madonna impersonating the best era of Hollywood "the 1950s" Marilyn Monroe" to a tee - it gave the old school look from 1951 to 1991 (lol - like looking back at 1981 to now 2021).
Omg the fact that its the same distance in time now haha… the 80’s still feel like they’re 20 years ago 😂😂
Your comment is as sexist and misogynistic as possible. Whenever people broadcast or show clips of Madonna’s Oscar performance Michael Jackson is not mentioned or shown on film. The performance is iconic because it’s Madonna, and because of what she did on stage.
Off topic but....where did you get your bedding?? I love that color lol
RIGHT?! it's so good! from sheetsociety!
Nice introspect
Watch 'Truth or Dare' dear -
Or known here in little Oz - 'In Bed with Madonna' {because we like to make it simple for simple Ausralians}
Hahaha gotta keep it simple
Oh yes, I have this video single! It has the MTV Vogue performance on the B-side. The interview really is important to watch for anyone who wants to get to know what Madonna stands for. She could still say this, not a lot has changed I guess. I mean she just did this video with Tokisha where she only frenchkisses another girl and its still controversial. You can say whatever you want to say, but Madonna is still a trailblazer. She should get more recognition for her art, not just her behavior or looks. Ah well! In a few years we will look back on this and see how important she still is.
100%!!!
No one has pushed so many boundaries and as hard and far as she has... Aids stigma, sexuality, female sexuality, queer sexuality, female ambition, ageism, racism, etc....
ahhh, what I wouldn’t give to go back to a time when a controversial Madonna video made the headline news.
SAMEEEEE
You need to react to Skin by Joy Crookes! Hands down one of my favourite albums this year!
You for sure need to react to Truth or Dare.
Hi Ben, just found you. There is a classic documentary with Madonna at this time with BBC Omnibus on hear. Aware you have probably already moved on. Enjoying watching through fresh eyes as a lifelong fan.
Many artists use sexuality now but none is as classily presented as M during that time. Call JML what u like but it was a so beautifully n artistically shot by Mondino.
Oh 100%!
Justify my love by Madonna and I’m a slave for you by Britney Spears are the hottest and sexiest songs ever 🔥
The interviewer is right.
About what.
@@bennshouts About everything he asks.
I think he was a fair interviewer maybe a bit conservative. He pushed her. She gave iconic answers!
@@marcel9568 no, he was speaking for nutbag conservatives.
When people try to undermine this performance of Vogue because she is not singing live, I say: “Gurl! She is lip syncing for her life. They all are, by the way. Even Nicki and Donna who are THE voices in this gig.
And the thing about Justify My Love is: was written by Lenny Kravitz for her. The moaning on the back is him. They are actually having sex through the song.
And one last thing: you are one of us now. “Erotica” will solidify that hahahah
Haha I am DEF one of you!!!!
Please react to Lolo Zouaï's new album PLAYGIRL ❤
it's up! hehe
Her lip-syncing was a nod to drag performers!!!!
She said
👍💙👊zane
Ps, still watching
