Building 12V Lithium Ion Battery Pack - DIY - Spot Welding - 3S10P 18650 cells

This is how I built the 12V 24Ah (3S10P) Lithium Ion(Li-ion) Battery Pack using HomeMade(DIY) Spot welder. This Pack includes a 3S BMS for Protecting the Battery Pack against Undervoltage, Overvoltage, Shortcircuit conditions.

Caution: Do Not Try this at home if you are unaware of the Risks involved with Lithium Ion Batteries.
MPPT used in this video (MPT7210A) is recommended for charging 24v Batteries and above, So extra care to be taken while Charging 12v Batteries. So better to use a CC CV DC-DC converter.

If you connect 3 18650 cells in series (+__- +__- +__-)you can achieve 12.6v Max.

So far soo good. No Regret. The quality depends from where we source. More chances of getting fake cells. So beaware :-)

Three 3.7v cell in series = 11.1v
How do you figure it’s a twelve volt battery?

3.7v is the Nominal Voltage, At full charge each cell will be 4.2v. So 4.2v x 3 cell in Series = 12.6V.

VU3PYN Well the usual practice is to use the nominal voltage as the stated battery’s voltage. 18650’s are marked and said to be 3.7 volt batteries. Just say’n...your mileage may vary.

My idea was to use this pack in place of regular 12v Lead Acid battery and to power up 12v rated equipments, 3S is the only li- ion combination which works :-)
