- These are 20 of my favorite tools that I have picked up so far this year. They are very functional tools from many different brands. Klein tools has a ton of great tools on this list including their insulated pliers, 7-1 impacted rated nut driver, and their pass through socket set. Veto Pro Pac also has a lot of great options on this list with the DP3, MP1X, and the Tech XL Wheeler. A lot of these are electricians tools but can be used for almost anything.

Nice video! I finally caved on getting the channelock strippers, and I carry then in my radio holster at work daily now! Love how compact those things are. The 1/4 socket set is next on my list to pick uo

I watch your videos because I love tools, but I personally don't do electrical. the metric klein 7-1 shaft and the 1/4' pass through set have had my eye for a while, would be very useful on my chopper lol

Im of the same opinion as you when it comes to water pump pliers but a fried, who is a plumber, gave me a good argumet for the older style. (how to explain it... Not the ))))) style but rather the OOOOO) Hes thoughts was that it were to small incroments on the push style making it harder to fine the right setting rather than if you work on one size bigger pipe it was one step up on the plier. He also agreed that for anything else than pipes the push version was way better. thanks for an interesting vieo!

You should check out Koken socket wrenches. They make some really good wrenches. I like their wobble-fix extensions and nut grip sockets.

I can’t be the only one that finds klein quality has gone to shit in the last couple of years. Used to rep a lot of klein and now I seem to have replaced pretty much everything american made with European stuff overtime…
I have the Klein pass through set and I'm not impressed. It's fine to use as a ratchet set or on you ratcheting Klein screwdriver, but it really sucks on an impact. The pieces do NOT stay together well. I might take it off of a 7/16 nut after tightening and the socket will come off of the extension, for instance. I recommend the one-piece Klein hollow magnetic impact drivers.
Ratching wrenches work just fine, 50 years, 40 as a master and union!
Also unless u work for yourself, buying all these tools is helping ur employer. What benefits do you get?

Most of these tools are actually relatively new. All of them are from the past 6 months. I also clean pretty frequently because I work in some pretty nice areas and don’t want to track dirt around
These videos have become repetitive and lackluster. I get it may be a tool showcasing channel, but it just seems like its all a shill. Great that you may be making money, but offer something to the viewer outside of these showcasing videos. Perhaps something beneficial like tutorials, or advice, tips and tricks... etc. You're doing nothing for the community other than farming clicks. All your thumbnails are the same and you recreate the same video every 3 weeks with new ref links. Boring, sorry.
That’s fine but informative videos don’t do well. I spent a ton of time and money on a video testing sets of tools but it’ll never matter because no one sees it because no one clicked on it. The point of it is to add value but it doesn’t matter how much value there is if no one ever sees it. You have all my tool list videos pop up because that’s what does well and gets exposure.

I chose the 3/8 mod box over the 1/4. I prefer its bigger size for more leverage. Also the Milwaukee multi strippers, they go up to 10 stranded

Curious, I also have the DP3. Amazing pouch. How do you typically “wear” it? With the belt clip or loop?
With the clip I feel it pulls me down but I hate having to use a belt all the time to hold it up nice. Defeats the purpose of being able to easily take it off and back on.

@@americanelectrician Well duh, of course it is. 😁 My point is, you might as well be using that as measurements because neither make any sense for that purpose. Btw imperial divisions are math too, they’re divisions. E.g 4/8 = 2/4 = 1/2. Which I’m sure you know very well, just saying it’s all maths my friend. Just one of the systems makes sense and the other is horrendously overcomplicated 😁
The klein flip socket set is the one ill disagree with you on. While its handy in theory it sucks for holding panel screws for large switchboards. Had it and was using it during an infrared inspection it kept dropping bolts so much it came out easier and faster to take a strip of 33 on the bolt head and a regular 3/8 socket on a ratchet to put the dead front back on

True, but at the same time, you can tell a lot from someone who takes pride in their tools and invests in them. I don’t know many people with great tools are shitty tradesmen

No true when you start is better to buy quantity tools sure you can cheap out but is better to invest early that will make you a better electrician down the line

Agree about the pass through set. Really good weight and size reduction for traveling electrician. Grab the ratcheting 11 in 1 for the compatible nut driver option.

Push button pliers even KNIPEX water pump pliers I have had the button/spring break out. Also big thing to me is the tongue/groove versions open way wider in each position if needed vs push button ones. Also throw the BAHCO 8” adjustable wrench in as well awesome tool !
Blue in (Black,Red,Blue) or Yellow in(Brown, Orange, Yellow) =6 or multiples of 6 or one less than 6. EX: 35 or 36 is blue or yellow, depending on voltage system. From there you can figure out any other number fairly quickly.(There were no ph apps when I Started,lol) That is how I learned the numbers to mark wire in a panel. I never even thought of having it on a tape measure. Thanks for sharing, Russ, 29 years in the Electrical Trade!
