16:00 I've been doing electrical (mostly jackhammering the walls and running coruggated concrete conduit) for about 4 months, after about 2 weeks i went to the store and bought myself 1 of these, i literally use them almost every day, they're so good for everything :)
No 8 , a rethreading tool , domestically a defo needed tool but an apprentice needs pliers more . My list for a newbie would be Snips Pliers 3mm , 4mm and 5.5 parallel tip Screwdrivers PZ 2 screwdriver Junior hacksaw Tape measure And a Knife can get you through most days ,will be with a spark (i should hope) so extras (pad saw , retreading tool, long nose etc ) could be borrowed as the technique's need to be learned onsite
I definitely agree with wire croppers. I love using them. I have side cutters from knipex for like 40 dollars, and some cheap croppers that cost like 6 dollars, and still they are cutting wires much better, and the cut is much cleaner. I was using side cutters few years for cutting cables, but now I use only croppers, much less effort is needed, and also for wires 4mm2+ they are a must have One more tip for very useful tool - inspection flashlight that has shape like pen with magnet on it. I have it with 3x aaa chargeable batteries, actually i use it more often than headlamp, as it can be easilly attached to any metalic cabinet
It would be interesting to know what tools a Western Union telegraph lineman carried in 1874 (150 years ago). Whatever they were, they got the job done.
Quintessential for some but I've been doing this in the UK for over 35 years and never needed 1. I'm a snips and pliers man , croppers for meter tails when needed .
There's a lot to add but my suggestion is a backpack tool bag. Definitely one comfortable, but with enough space to carry things you need for that particular job. I.e. faceplates, back boxes, junction boxes, short amount of additional cable. A backpack keeps your hands free for safety and/or probably carrying an additional toolbox. A backpack is nicer when walking up flights of stairs. I use the Velocity Rogue 4.5. That Wiha hammer is the best, definitely worth the money!
Tape measure is absolute must i’d even drop it for the head torch, without it work can’t simply be done (and definitely not be done to a standard you can be proud of) Great video though. 👍
I would recommend an SL Plus/Minus 2 (PZ2/SL) and an SL Plus/Minus 1 (PZ1/SL) for consumer unit modules, because neither PZ2 nor Slotted fit properly, and tend to slip thus damaging the screws. You need a Proving Unit for the Voltage Tester.
There's a decent Bacho screwdriver set available at the moment for a decent price. A level should have been on this list and a pair of grips/adjustable pliers for sure!
I used to check high voltage on the back of old TV tubes EHT voltage was over 4 kv the neon screwdriver would light up quickly indicating high voltage.
I would put a clamp meter. Speaking of clamp meters, can you do a review of either: Kyoritsu 2200r or Hioki cm3289? Both are design to fit into cramped fuse boards and other tight spaces. I think it would be a useful piece of kit for an electrician. Cheers.
Becoming an electrician has been bad for my wallet 😂 only 2 months in and i already have a full set of knipex pliers, linemans, strippers, diagonal cutters, 3 cobras, and the pliers wrench. Now i need some needle nose and crimping pliers
1. Strippers 2. Lineman’s 3. Dikes 4. Needle nose 5. Two pairs of channel locks for commercial 6. Hammer 7. Level 8. Tape measure 9. Sharpie/pencil 10. Notepad As a man you should have a flashlight and knife in your pocket at all times anyways.
Hate when somebody asks for a sharpie, pencil, pen, or knife. Being in commercial construction why doesn’t your ass have those on you at all times?!?? I dont get these guys sometimes, man. I’d throw in tape measure, but there’s been plenty of times ive left it behind without thinking. Someone always asks for a tape whenever i do t have it on me🤷🏽♂️
-insulated hammer is a gimmick any lightweight one will do -You don’t need a £40 head torch get one for a tenner anywhere -you don’t need a lockout kit as an apprentice -get a replaceable blade Stanley knife -teethless grips are way too expensive get water pump pliers they do the job
Technically they are not free…in payment for the free tools they have to advertise them, make video reviews, make sure in videos everybody is using them correctly, etc. All of that comes at a cost to the company, granted probably not as much as the tools would cost….but still a cost involved…
Technically they are free. As he can’t produce any receipts for any of them including anything from Veto and especially Unilite. It’s hardly a Hollywood production. Probably took him less than an hour to film it and edit it. Hardly time consuming and then there is the revenue from UA-cam. He’s a parasite.
@@jbmaintenanceservices2699 What cost involved. It’s a 10 minute video of showing some tools. It’s not a Hollywood movie. All the Unilite is free, not to mention most of the hand tools. He should be giving them away to apprentices.
@@Rob-zd2be How do you tell someone what to do in their video, on their channel yet they are teaching you a thing or two? start your own channel and give out the tools you get.
For commercial/industrial I'd add:
- 5m Tape Measure
- Refillable carpenter pencil (Pica, Hultafors, Tracer etc)
- Torpedo Level
- Half Round File
- 8, 10, 13, 17mm open end spanners
- Set (or Engineers) Square
- 300mm Hacksaw

To me, a wire stripper is the quintessential electrician's tool. A good one like the Knipix can do much more.

I would add tape measure, spirit level, refillable pencil and jab saw
Tape measure and a spirit level should be there yes!

Totally agree! Should have added a tape measure as part of the 10!

Yes to thread tool!

Neon screwdriver tester and voltage stick is a must .
If the batteries fail on any test equipment the neon screwdriver never dies.
@@mehrbanqurban1858Not a neon screwdriver tester unless you have a death wish! Only a resistor between me and 240v? Not on your nelly!⚡️
Resistors go open circuit under load people have been using them for long time as ex maintenance technician..
I used to check high voltage on the back of old TV tubes EHT voltage was over 4 kv the neon screwdriver would light up quickly indicating high voltage.
As you approach any room with high voltage over 1 kv neon will light up you don't need to hold it it will light up in your tool belt.
I would put a clamp meter.

Always a boat level for apprentices.
Defiantly
Pencil and tape measure 🎉🎉sharpie
Multi tools are a great idea takes up less space and is usually less cost wise .
Is fluke T150 worth investing ? Now using benning old scool
Nice video! I think a level, pencil and a tape measure should be in the toolbox too.
Good call!

Where do you buy your boddington screwdriver from Jordan please ?
I knew i saw you on artisan electric

Wire strippers?
I have followed your channel and your work a many years ago ❤ i u don't tools 😅on the table i will give you my address 😂 i love you so much
The wiha hammer is only £28 on Amazon btw.
Great deal then!
Bro, is selling the apprentices down the river trying to get them to buy a £30 headtorch! £10 Amazon headtorch will do the job.
Kin el mate surely they 20 quid spare to get the better product
A tape measure and a laser and a square and a marker
A level as well
Tape measure and level should be included
Defiantly should be included!
A lock off kit get the Live Longer habit be safe.
Klein tools is not budget here in America
Arguably best value for money tho
@@saucyg6371 that title most likely goes to Channelock but debatable for sure
Why did the dude tell us to get 10 hammers
