I had a Citizens watch I’d bought some 20 years ago. Was an eco drive. It finally stopped holding charge and to be honest I did abuse it. Sent it back to citizen and was told the movement in it was no longer made and couldn’t be repaired. Unexpectedly Citizens gave me a $260 credit towards a new watch of my choosing. For a 20+ year old watch. I now own 3 Citizens watches and love them.
How to complain to citizen that our watch isnt working
If you were to ask me, I would say that that is the value of reliability! Thanks for the positive comment that makes me get closer to my only affordable CITIZEN ECO-DRIVE watch.
Commendable indeed
That’s cool
Amazing !!
Citizen and Seiko. The two heroes of the affordable price ranges.
And Casio.
Old Casio models are better (even using Citizen Miyota Mov'mt)
Can’t forget invicta
@@attackme30 that's adorable
@@9erMatthew 😂😂😂
i have a 15 year old Citizen Titanium EcoDrive and it is still working... amazing watch!
Citizen Eco Drive watches, one of the most underrated watches out there.
I love citizen watches. They are reliable, classy and affordable
Norman Chance facts, I’ve had mine for over 2 years of daily use, it works perfect and barely has any wear and tear
Andrew Nixon my dad has had his eco drive for 13 years.. lol
@@BurnedMeatloaf I have Citizen Promaster Eco-Drive BJ2111-08E that have been in daily use for 10 years now. Its spent a few hundred hours under water with me and and its still going strong :)
Fun fact my grandfather has a citizen watch that's over 25 years old its a windup watch, only repairs he made was replacing the links on a wrist band when it broke...twice in over 25 years...
@@tigerman1978 do you use rubber strap for many² time in underwater ?
Sometimes wanting something is more fun than owning it
... So simple but so true.
I want a superyacht. But, to be in the financial position to afford and maintain one, is probably not as fun.
This is silly. Makes no sense. Wanting something you can't have is not fun at all. Its depressing.
It often is, how many people here have really lusted after a watch then finally after, hours, days, weeks or many months they finally get it and it's a let down. Hands up if you're part of that club ☝🏻
Just like my girlfriend
Keep doing your thing Bro! I enjoy your content and you have a great personality! Your channel is about to take off! Stay blessed Bro!
Finally, a video for the legions of Citizen fans. Would love to see you do a review of one of their Grand Touring watches. I think you'd be impressed. Keep up the good work.
At last a video about Citizen! Good job!
Agree
My dad’s citizen automatic watch lasted for 27 years. Thats how durable citizen is!
Durable may not equate with desirable, or exciting.
My grandpas watch lasted for 67yrs
If it’s under warranty return it for something that works 😂
@@aussie8114 still works lol
27 years is really nothing, most automatic watches can last a century if you service it daily.
Love Citizen. One of my Citizen watches is 22 years old and still works like it did on day one. I also have a Promaster Marine and an Eco-Drive. Both excellent, extremely well made and stylish.
I think Citizen is a brand that is often overlooked on the market. They seem to be an awesome quality, especially for the price tag. My Grandmother still has some perfectly functional Citizen wristwatches that her husband has bought. He died in the early 90's.
Agreed
My grandpa is a long time watch collector, has a rolex, multiple seiko's and some other trendy stuff.
He just got new citizen eco-drive, and now I understand why
Citizen is a really good watch for Nurses. I knew a nurse who had her watch for years and didn't even know hers had a solar charge. She sent it to me to get the battery changed but I did a little research and just left it in the sun. It was up and working!
I became a citizen this day 51 years ago.
Lol
Lol
I've been looking into Citizen watches recently and haven't been sure which to get, this video helped a lot! thank you! Also, I'd love more videos on fashion or pairings
These videos are so helpful. Most brands make tons of models, but their websites have little to no ability to search using a filter. You've introduced me to dozens of models (and sometimes brands) I never knew existed. Thank you!
Great Content Ted. Citizen is highly underrated....THANKS for doing this 👍🏽👍🏽
I own 7 Citizen watches...all of them EcoDrives. Three of them are signature perpetuals and one is their grand complication. All of them are ungodly accurate....2-5 seconds a month. That means that the most you could be off when you reset for DST is 30 sec. Most of mine are well inside of that. My point is that with this accurate and reliable a watch...why do you need to look at mechanical movements or atomic clock/GPS features. These Citizen eco-drive perpetual calendar watches are bullet proof. You get up, put them on, and they just keep going. My oldest is an Endeavor model and with over 7 years of use...it’s still kicking ass. Love Citizen eco-drive watches.
I'm at 12 now....absolutely the best watch for the money hands down!
Citizen was my first “nice” watch... and I still have them, never missing a beat, never changed a battery going on 6 years now! You may need to be an engineer to set the dates on the perpetual calendar models but you never have to touch them again!
You got that right🤣I could never set it right.
My sons stopped after 2 weeks.
You gotta fully charge them first , then they can last. 2 days on a. Window sill or 2 hours in direct sunlight
@@Greyzonecompliant a total fluke no doubt
Yes! I'm finally early again! It's been tough now that I work an 8-5, but I'm still here for the content, Teddy!
Haha your boss will understand
@@TeddyBaldassarre 😂😂😂
Recently purchased a limited edition bullhead eco-drive. I'm now the proud owner of 4 Citizen eco-drive's. No nonsense, just very unheralded, exceptionally good watches.
Nice video, been warming up to Citizen watches! For me accurate time and simplicity are paramount, they have many tempting choices!
Another excellent video, Ted - glad to have helped !
Thanks for sharing Teddy. Highly informative as usual. Thank you
I've got a Chronomaster myself with the A660 movement. Lovely dress watch, so simple and elegant. The new 0100 movement is just as amazing. I think Citizen is really making a name for themselves in the HAQ market.
I just received my AQ 4021-51W earlier this week, absolutely love it. Wish he had covered it a bit more but all good.
I fell in love with the traditional paper dial and crazy high polishing on the indicies, hands and bezel reminiscent of Grand Seiko. 37.5mm was a great size and still thin so perfect for a dress watch. The really long power reserve and low power mode in addition to the hidden power reserve and perpetual calendar functions on top of the +/- 5 seconds per year accuracy made it brimming with tech. I personally found more value in all of that instead of getting down to +/- 1 second a year in the C0100 watches which are more than double the price (plus I just preferred the design). Also since it is a limited edition JDM piece it seemed a little more special.
Good to see these, thanks for this information!
Glad to see this brand reviewed. I own an Eco-drive dress in titanium. Highly underrated from a reliability and value standpoint. Some of their older designs were too garish for my taste. I don't think their Bulova's have the same external quality although the innards are their engines. In that regard, my daily wearer is a Caravelle Devil diver my dad bought for himself, circa 1978, and the auto movement is an 82xx series Citizen (quick set day/date). Caravelle being a subsidiary of Bulova, it shows how far back these two have had a relationship.l
Thanks for highlighting Citizen watches. Great brand that doesn't get a lot of shine
Loved this video. Yes, more of such please.
Thanks for showing Citizens I’ve never seen before. . Added to my wish list for sure!
LOVE THE FORMAT TEDDY... going back to your roots as to why I originally subscribed.
I bought the 2nd watch in this video back in February of this year. It is my 4th Citizen Watch & by far my favorite watch! I have been well pleased with it!
Congrats on hitting 100k!!!
Can't get enough of citizen..can't wait to see what they come with next..
I own quite a few watches from the usual overlyhyped swiss brands but none give me the same pleasure as my Citizens! The 1000m Ecodrive diver is probably my all time fav diver. So much engineering has gone into it and despite its size, thanks to Citizen's proprietary Super Titanium, its incredibly comfortable.
Thanks for all the great videos teddy 👍🏼
Thank you Jesus 🙌🏻
Citizens was my first watch before I moved on to bigger and better quality. I will always have respect for citizens
Where was the quality lacking?.........I've noticed no lack of quality whatsoever....and I work in the Quality inspection profession.
I own five different Citizen watches and love them all. I wear my all titanium because it is so light.
The titanium is a good watch. I got one a few weeks ago and it is amazing!
What titanium watches do you got?
@@thomashaase1519 Mine is called the Titanium Perpetual Chrono Atomic Timekeeping Watch with Date, AT4010-50E
Full price was around $800 but I got a deal at Amazon for Black Friday $250
This watch does so much stuff it's really cool.
@@S5King7 nice man i got a titanium at2340-56l its really comfortable and it looks very clean.
@@thomashaase1519 Is it the Chandler? I have just received my CB0219-50L. It's surprisingly light.
Great video, Teddy! I love my Citizen watches. Of note, a lot of the microbrands like Aulta and Trifoglio Italia use Miyota movements, made by...Citizen.
Nice information Teddy, I have been interested in learning about the brand! Glad I saw this one!
Great survey. Very interesting. Thank you.
You the Man 💪
Love your channel 👏✌️
Keeps me informed 🤫👍
Teddy, thank you for taking the time to produce this great video. My collection is comprised mostly of citizen watches, largely due to my first encounter with a promaster back in 2009. It was the first timepiece that drew me into timepieces. I do have in my collection a two tome grand classic automatic, with Day, day, month , hour, and power reserve complication. NB5000-55A....
If you would be interested to borrow it, please kindly let me know. The quality of the piece is something many would never expect, specially at the 1000$ pricepoint. When I saw it, I surely couldn't pass it up.
Glad to see some real love on Citizen...
deff a useful video series given the sheer amount of companies and watches on the market.
Citizen has AWESOME support! I got a Chandler and the spring bars were squeaky. I asked them about it and they sent free replacements. Local watch shop said there was actually no problem, the holes were just a bit too wide. But Citizen support sent and responded to multiple emails within the same day. Cannot complain 😁
Was it Citizen US? Here in Ireland I got abysmal customer support.
@@diegocanale1124 I’m from the US so I’d assume so. Sad to hear they don’t have great support everywhere!
At awesome cost! I got charged £200 for a service to replace the capacitor in my 20 something year old titanium skyhawk.
A few years before that I got quoted £300 for a new bracelet for that same watch. I got the impression these service centres were just making up their prices to see how much they could get.
It could also be the jewellery shops overcharging for sending your watch away for you. They are notoriously greedy. Mind you, they do have lots of staff standing around doing nothing between customers or in the back office drinking tea, leaving one person out front dealing with any customers.
I find it quite astonishing that most of these jewellers who also sell watches and have a large collection on display have nobody with any knowledge of their stock. It seems to be up to the customer to know.
This is the first video I watched after seeing you interview Grant Cardone. I’ve been wanting someone to produce a channel for mainstream watches for ever and here it is. I LOVE Citizen and Casio watches. Most watches I buy are between $100 - $500. I just subscribed to your channel, thanks
Glad you found your way here! Welcome to the channel’
For me that automatic titanium was a love at first sight buy. I was going in the ad to buy a different strap for my nighthawk that i had just received the night before but was not particularly impressed by & the strap was ultra uncomfortable. When i saw the titanium with the black dial i immediately told the lady that i wanted to swap the nighthawk with it and left happy as a kid 😃 it is super versatile, can rock both with a suit and a checkered shirt, is super light, very accurate and comfortable on the wrist
Much Agreed.Thanks for the Video.
Another great video my friend. Congrats on all your success!
by far the best channel on UA-cam for anything watch! Good job Teddy
Cool stuff Teddy.
Finally my favorite 😍 citizen eco drive.
Thank you very much for the citizen video! So overlooked and underrated. All we hear about is Seiko and other automatic centric brands. About time they got some love
I received a radio control atomic timekeeping Citizen watch as a long service award for 25 years service from the company I worked for here in the UK six years ago, it's an awesome watch and timekeeping is excellent as you would expect from one of these watches. Since then I have got a few more Citizen Eco Drive watches which I really do enjoy wearing. I was lucky enough to purchase a Stilletto watch in a sale at a local retailer for £75 which I wear mainly on formal occasions when I wear a dress suit or formal suit. Thanks for posting this video as there isn't many reviews on Citizen watches but plenty more about other luxury brands. Citizen are good value watches which are affordable for everyone not just the more wealthy who can afford luxury brands.
Most accurate timepiece I’ve ever owned was a Toshiba Beta VCR from the mid 1980’s. On New Years Eve every year the clock on that machine was off by zero seconds (assuming we had no power outages that year)! It made me start thinking about Japanese watches and I bought my first Casio.
I love that!
Good review
Fell in love with the Citizen AT0200-05E Eco-Drive chronograph today! Much love from a newbie watch collection 😆
Great video to shed some light on citizens. I have the nighthawk black pvd
Interesting Teddy. That white dial Chronograph is georgeous!
That Citizen Titanium. Goodness. So elegant.
I have a Calibre 8700 Eco-drive. Given it about 15 years ago . Love it . Beautiful layout, white dial, and my daily wear.
Had the Citizen Grand Touring was a fantastic beautiful watch!
The perfect start to a New year of collecting and love the high level approach. Anything on Alpina?! I love mine.
I bought a vintage Citizen last week.
It is an eagle 7 21 juwels automatic Spanish version(although I am Dutch.).
I am very happy with it.
Teddy, you completely skipped over the amazing Skyhawk/Navihawk range, with Citizen GPS Satellite Wave pieces in particular being marvels in watch tech for how fast and easy they set themselves. Recommend doing Citizen, part 2.
Definitely! Many more to review. I'd love to see a good review of the Stiletto line.
Hey, did you miss the title of the video? ☺️
Those ranges are already icons!✨
Unless you live in Australia, where the radio control doesn't exist
@ 68404. Can't the time calibration signal from the radio station time signal transmitter in Kyushu, Japan reach Australia under favorable weather conditions? I would think that a radio-control watch in Australia should be able to receive the time calibration signal from the time signal transmitter in southern Japan at least some of the time under perfect or nearly perfect weather conditions. Even the USA time calibration signal from Ft. Collins, Colorado supposedly can reach parts of the west coast of South America and parts of the west coast of Africa under perfect weather and atmospheric conditions.
Ya specially intrested to know about build quality on some of the satelite wave models. They are obviously engineering marvels but want to know how they compare with other watches in terms of build quality around $700 to 1k range
Citizen is doing a lot of things well these days. Eco-Drive and super-titanium is awesome stuff. They are leading in H.A.Q. and the Miyota 9015 is quite nice as well.
Awesome video, as usual. I have the World Perpetual and I love it. Maybe next could be a Swiss brand that we don't hear about very often (at least in the US) like Certina.
Thank you for this show case
3.44: The Promaster Tough has some Nautilus vibes to it.
I love and own 4 citizen watches.
It's a big brand that you can always rely on 👍
I have had many Citizen watches and what I really like about them is that most of them have short lugs. Example, the NightHawk is a 42mm dial but the lugs are so short that it actually wears a lot smaller on my wrist and the same can be said about most of them. I also like that the metal bracelets that they make are way better than Seiko's bracelets.
My most recent Citizen is the PCAT (CB5918-02L) What a beautiful watch. When I look at it, it's not even to tell the time, lol.
My other Citizen is the Corso Perpetual Calendar (BL8140-55E).
Which are 2 watches I feel are very underated.
The Promaster's bezel also rotates couter-clockwise if memory serves. Drivers use that to mark their dive time so they know when to decompress.
Really like the field solar series, I wonder if they will withstand altitude and cold temps. Great video Teddy
Teddy, you really should just put the lug to lug of these watches in their spec sheet. It may not be a review, but it does help people to look into the watches you mention in your videos.
U talk too fast I can't catch up ur explanation
@@nestormartinez9339 I tend to ramble. I apologize.
The main point is that Teddy should include the lug-to-lug distance of each watch.
It would be helpful for many who are looking to buy a watch but are worried of its sizing.
@@dojoquintana damnn that’s real dedication to reply after a whole year
@@mathiascoroi The man said he couldn't catch up with my explanation (which I don't was fast, though) so I had to respond
BM8180 is a super underrated watch too
Good review, thanks! Finally this time you picked larger 42mm+ watches ..
Radio controlled and even GPS controlled watches are pretty great. The Eco-Drive feature is almost standard on them, so they can run indefinitely. I had one I misplaced, it looked great, and now I have an AT watch too.
That Citizen tough is my next watch, love it!
I bought a basic Citizen Chandler without giving the purchase much thought. It has become a favourite watch, ahead of some more expensive brands I own. Citizen will have my respect and recommendation for a long time to come.
I remember when Volkswagen ventured into the “high end” market putting the VW badge on the Phaeton with a $60k price tag...no one wanted a $60k VW... Citizen’s success is in the value market...a $7000 + Citizen? But maybe watch buyers are different than car buyers.
Love my Blue Angels SkyHawk 10 yrs old and still going strong
My favourite citizen is from the Signature collection: the grand touring driver. its got some panerai vibes going on with a black pvd case and beautiful copper colour applied arabic indices.
Thanks Ted...
Love citizen watches honestly. Just got the cto with black case, dial and leather band and it is a very sharp watch. Fits with dress clothes and everyday wear and works great.
Teddy do you have a video covering most popular seiko and citizen sweeping solar/eco drive movement’s…i like the exo drives you flexed but would have loved to know if they sweep or tick.
Just got my first citizen watch. Chandler with a blue dial and leather band. I’m loving it immensely
I have the CB0180-51L. Very nice watch, the dial is beautiful under sunlight. The radio control is very useful (I use this watch as a reference to set time on my other watches, in particular the automatic one) and the world time function is really useful for someone like me who travels a lot. That being said it's quite heavy and it took me a little time to get used to. Maybe I should buy a titanium strap for it at some point.
Hey Teddy been watching your channel for awhile now an was great cause you help give me a guide of what was a good watch at my price point an other price point but now it does seem repetitive at times an think you could really expand from the status quo. There's so many great watches out there for you to reference from like you usually do but would like to see you expand that were in the same state an want your channel to keep growing .
Love the condescending laugh when you mention high end watch snob remark,
Citizen Attesa collections are beautiful, especially Citizen GPS Caliber F950 with Star Wars & Darth Vader Edition.. its 44 mm case maybe an issue for dressy watch enthusiast.. but the titanium body, anti scratch coating, & super fast auto time sync will impressed you
Citizen Attesa GPS, Seiko Astron 5x, Casio Oceanus Hybrid, and G-Shock MR.G are main players in elegant GPS Timekeeping watch segment right now.. i hope they can make a downsize to ~40 mm in the near future 😉
Citizen make very reliable watches at an affordable price. I have a Citizen Eagle 7 that I bought in 1997, and I still use it every day, never been serviced and is super accurate. Thanks for the video.
I bought my pops the world perpetual AT a couple of years ago. Hes not much for winding or setting watches so.... this one takes care of everything. Though he does hand it to me to adjust for daylight savings.
Hi watch enthusiasts, can I ask your thoughts about Citizen AT0496-07E? Is it a good piece to start with for newbies?
I think the Chandler CA7020-58L is an honourable mention. I love the domed crystal and the vintage inspired design
Love this idea. How about the lower end brands watches like Timex and Casio. How about talking about some brand that get no mention of respect like Armitron or Fossil. That way all aspects of the watch Industry are covered. Loved this video. I have 3 citizens myself.
You made me a fan of Citizens again. For some reason I viewed then equal to Invicta, but they are much much more than that. Citizens actually have some substance. Plus Eco-Drive is accurate af
