I have a brace of AJS singles in the garage to restore, your videos are taking away so much of my restoration anxiety and supporting my 'do it once, do it right' approach. Thank you from the heart of my bottom.

I was a Suzuki and Kawasaki mechanic and always liked these singles. With the amount of reaming, machining etc I don't think I'll bother buying one. I used to work with an old mechanic who was proud of his reamers. Now I know why, everything is bushes. Thanks for showing.

Having rebuilt two 70's and one early 90's dirt bikes. I thought my 56 AJS basket case would be a walk in the park being so agricultural by comparison. How wrong I was!!! This is a world inhabited by true craftsmen, an art I can only aspire to! I liken it to my experience in electronics...Digital just works, analogue, although technically inferior, takes a lot of setting up with old school approaches. Thanks Dick! Wonderful videos, now I know who I have to go find!!

Excellent video. The best I could find on using an adjustable reamer. I’m working on a Harley engine and this is the information I needed. Thanks from the UK.

What a brilliant explanation of how to use an adjustable reamer! It's much clearer to me now.

I'd recommend giving the reamer more rotations inside the bush, as it removes the risk of the tool transferring any ovality.

Heeo Dick. As others have said, I wish I had seen your videos some time ago. You make it look so easy but we do not have your skill. Recently I built a G80 CS with poor knowledge but have since had it running but now it is a beast to start even with Thorspark electronics. I have been trying to do leak down tests but no conclusions yet as hard to hold engine from turning. I wonder if you have any advice to offer?

Leak down tests are helpful. The tricky part is getting the piston at exactly TDC. Ciao Dick Casey
