Coppola was a visionary director. Rarely if ever has a film so totally unjudgementally showcased the madness of war and of the men forced to endure it. Tragically comedic one moment and sickening realistic the next. Nothing will eclipse this work of cinema Art in the war film genre.

Seeing my Grandfather watching this so many times knowing he served in both Korea and Vietnam with the Army always made me wonder what this movie was really about. After he passed, watching this makes me realize how much of an Masterpiece this is and making me want to serve as well. Such a beautiful video too 💪🏻

Napalm, son. Nothing else in the world smells like that.

Je doet net of je de grote film expert bent terwijl je waarschijnlijk alleen maar Hollywood high budget film fanboy bent. Terwijl je de echte meesters van film niet noemt zoals akiri kurasawa, bong joon ho en guillermo del toro. Waarschijnlijk ken je ook niet the lighthouse, Ran, there will be blood, childeren of men. I wonder if Apocalypse Now inspired Roger Deakins' style of cinematography. There's a lot of silhouettes and blood-red twilight skies in this film. I highly recommend reading Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad as well
