One of the best and most beautiful movie shots ever created.
with the smoke when the light flash gently on the surface, it's gorgeous
Coppola was a visionary director. Rarely if ever has a film so totally unjudgementally showcased the madness of war and of the men forced to endure it. Tragically comedic one moment and sickening realistic the next. Nothing will eclipse this work of cinema Art in the war film genre.
strictlynorton Apocalypse Now got it spot on and nobody has ever reached it again. The only film that only ever got slightly close was Full Metal Jacket. But Apocalypse Now is still unbeaten.
@@BCS1105 Not even Stanley Kubrick could beat this film and he's a perfectionist.
gjk-2015 That’s why I said SLIGHTLY close. He didn’t get there but he got a little bit close.
Platoon is the most realistic/emotionnal one, Full Metal Jacket is the more cynical one, and Apocalypse Now will always be the most psychedelic, crazy, horrifying one. The whole three of them are great as fuck.
@@seankilburn7200 for me it’s a 10/10 and in addition to that the best movie I’ve ever seen
@@jmh3299 can I ask how dark you found it to be? I am eager to watch it but fear I will find it too disturbing at my current age.
@@seankilburn7200The way to the abyss of humanity and to full madness wich is shown in the movie is really dark.
Also many scenes contain much violence but I would say that the psychological aspect is the darkest part in the long term.
The cinematography of this film is so strong that it makes you feel it was produced after 2000s and not in late 1970s !!
Vittorio Storaro is the GOAT. It's the Caravaggio of the cinematographer
Dude where do you think modern films learn from XD Japanese films from the 40s to 60s are already amazing looking.
Perhaps you watched the Redox version and not the original which seems dirtier.
Not to be an asshole, but 00's cinematography and the whole digital movement just looks a little dull in my eyes.
@@denilsonalanaymayamiranda407 but the new Final Cut Blu Ray release uses the same original film negative across all three remastered 4K versions (including Original and Redux)
Not only is this one of the most beautiful movies ever made, it's one of if not the best movie ever made
@@lordgnippoc2278 Personally I find both Godfathers to be overrated, especially the second, but I can understand the high regard they are held in.
@@crust8016 i personally think the second Godfather is the best out of the three, and is on par with Shawshank and the best film of all time
The opening riff of The End never fails to send a shiver down my spine
True Apocaplypse put on film, but still beautiful, a bit like Blade Runner... Makes me think of the poet Baudelaire who described a rotting dead animal, an it was strikingly beautifully written!
could you say the name of that Baudelaire poem, Emile? You've made me curious
Matías Negro it is called « une charogne » sou can find it in the book « les fleurs du mal »
Hallucinatory, horrifying and beautiful! Apocalypse Now is one of the best movies ever made.
@TheNabOwnzz nobody is allowed share there opinion supposedly cuz eight year olds like you want attention.
Seriously this movie feels like an everlasting drug, almost like it was never real
This masterpiece of a film is pure gold
This is more than just a movie. It’s an experience. A trip
I saw it opening week-end in a packed theater stoned out of my mind in 79. And I'm glad I did. On the big screen. Changed my life.
I met Martin Sheen once; he was a very kind man. That was before I saw this one; an absolutely beautiful nightmare. Seeing him in this made me realize that I had met a completely different person. Great work as always with these videos, especially this one.
What are they gonna say about him? What are they gonna say? He was a kind man? He was a wise man? He had plans? He had wisdom?
Francis Ford Coppola ....went insane on making this film a piece of brilliant art for years to come
Coppola is one of those directors that never wastes a cut. Each one has a purpose, whether it be for storytelling, visuals, or emotional quality. Thanks for capturing that so well!
It's insane how great this still looks considering its age and hellish production history. Even though I don't like most of Coppola's films after this, I have a huge amount of respect for him for pushing himself to complete this film.
just saw it a week ago and i can’t get it out of my head! maybe my favorite cinematography oat
I have no idea why only your Blade Runner video got half a million views, when all of them are equally beautiful.
The behind-head shot where he arrives at the camp with all the people looking up to him in the water is my favorite.
Thanks to this film I fell in love with The Doors and I am still listening to their albums to this day. Their first album will forever be timeless like this film
Vittorio Storaro is the best cinematographer who has ever lived
3:50 is basically the greatest shot in cinematic history
Whoever decided to pick this song for the movie is an absolute genius. It’s like it was made for the film.
The feelings I experience when witnessing this film make it indescribably beautiful!
Imagine thinking that Apocalypse Now is just a “war movie”
It has more depth than that, but in fact, it is a war movie... an anti-war movie, but a war movie after all.
@TheNabOwnzz lmaoo. I'm a LOTR fan but putting ROTK first is utter shit. Gladiator ? You're kidding me.
Amazing cinematography, amazing soundtrack, amazing casting, and an amazing plot. In my opinion Apocalypse Now is the perfect movie. Its flawless. Greatest of all time.
My favorite movie of all time. The only movie that changed my life.
Dear@TheNabOwnzz
I have been looking through the comments of this video and I keep seeing your negative replies. I have no intention of offending you, but in my 'objective opinion', you are acting very immaturely. Apocalypse now may not be a 'masterpiece', but many people believe that it is. I think you should stop criticizing the film, stop replying on these comments and respect other people's opinions.
Yours sincerely,
Goblin

idk why, but i just love this shot of lance!!
probably my fav character of the movie after cap. willard and col. kurtz
great video btw, apocalypse now is my favourite movie :)
I rem watching this as a kid and it felt like i was watching a damn nightmare thru the eyes of Sheen. Truly a visual/storytelling masterpiece.
That's why I love Cinema
all of this atmosphere before digital effects, pure artistic cinematography. reality as witnessed by celluloid.
The Beauty of Full Metal Jacket
True masterpiece born in great pain of those who worked on it. Lovely to see a video on it from you.
I'd love to see you cover The Fountain as well. One of my favourite films which also happens to have brilliant cinematography.
Willard’s literally me
I hope you'll tackle The Deer Hunter☺
this looks so much better than every movie coming out nowdays
The greatest movie of all time.
I swear I have watched this like a thousand times! Great work Buddy.
thank you for this video, i i love apocalypse now and this video here manages to capture its athmosphere so well that i have already watched it like 20 times
What a piece of video, what a piece of song. So great!! This Is an amazing video.
I discover something new every time I see this film...and I've seen it 42 times.
🙏 It's like seeing an opera....You see or hear new details every time, even at the 150th. I saw " Apocalypse Now" at 17 years old....it was mindblowing and groundbreaking.. 30 years later it's even more mindblowing, groundbreaking and deep. Everything is perfect visually ( like paintings), musically, acting, etc, One of the very few masterpieces in the history of Cinema.
This movie is epic as hell, the cinematography, the direction, the acting and all makes this film so special
greatest war movie of all time
the greatest motion picture of all time. masterpiece
Apolypse Now is like a Poem about war. Your scenes and choice of music portrays that poetic quality of the filming very well.
Kubrick said the experience is what a filmmaker should prioritize. There are few films which I have seen as many times as Apocalypse Now which never fail to deliver an absolutely absorbing experience, as I go on a horrifying and liberating journey through the collective mind of us all. Perfect filmmaking. A contender for my all time favourite film.
Best movie i've ever seen. Respect from France.
@TheNabOwnzz Obviously, it is you who is uneducated in Cinema. Apocalypse Now is the best war movie ever made. Go back on Netflix and keep watching your funny series. Don't speak about art.
I love this film to my very core. I can't imagine having seen this on the big screen upon release, when movies just didn't look and feel like this.
I just watched this 2 days ago, can't stop thinking about the horrors
kudos for using the Doors "the end", the movie starts with that song
Every shot in this movie is so gorgeous but the rest of the movie is also done so damn well. Incredible film and my favorite cinematography
@@LoneLee2022 yeah I remember being not the slightest bit surprised when I saw that. Well deserved
"I watched a snail crawl along the edge of a straight razor. That's my dream; that's my nightmare. Crawling, slithering, along the edge of a straight razor... and surviving."
- Colonel Walter E. Kurtz
Best movie of all time
One of the best songs to begin a movie that's for sure.
Seeing my Grandfather watching this so many times knowing he served in both Korea and Vietnam with the Army always made me wonder what this movie was really about. After he passed, watching this makes me realize how much of an Masterpiece this is and making me want to serve as well. Such a beautiful video too 💪🏻
Beautiful indeed. Pure art.
wow love this film the cinematography and sound design are amazeing
One of the best visually stunning war film ever and it's my favorite movies of all time.
This has to be once of the best videos I’ve seen. I’m kinda bummed because you didn’t put the whole song, but nevertheless is an extraordinary work. Thank you for this, you are truly amazing ❤️
Watched this yesterday and boy was i surprised. Everything in this movie is perfect, Francis Ford Coppola is a genius. Man i cant describe the feelings i had while watching this! I was shocked, surprised and scared by this movie`s portrayal of war! Thank you for making this video and you chose the best moments from the movie!
Yesss The Doors is my absolute favorite band and im barely 17 lol but I was wondering what type of music you were going to use on this and im so glad you did use the doors😍😍
I just watched this for the first time last night and I’m blown away. Perfect film.
My favorite movie.
I just found your channel and just love your work, man. Your videos are amazing.
My favorite movie of all time
This is a movie. Not the garage Hollywood is putting out now regardless of how much money it makes. This is cinema, art, this movie will change you after watching it.
Wow what a great cut
In case you wonder, the movie was film in the Philippines (not in Vietnam).
@TheNabOwnzz No, you didn´t, because if you actually had look for it you should know i am telling the truth, is not like a difficult fact to find
This and lawrence of arabia must be the two top movies when it comes to cinematography and all around greatness
@TheNabOwnzz no it's not. It actually speaks about a lot of things.
@TheNabOwnzz apocalypse now is well rated, that I did not convince you is something else, don't think that you are the one who decides what is good and what is not good
for me the best movie of all time
1 of the greatest songs by 1 of the greatest groups in history :)
The most beautiful movie ever!
The beauty of 2001: A space odyssey? But then you’d have to post the whole movie 😂
@@issi529 I know, I was making a joke lol.
I liked 2001, but it's ok if other people didn't like it. A movie isn't great if everyone likes it. Don't worry, I'm not going to say that you didn't get it or it's not for you like douchebag cinephiles that are all over the internet.
If you ever do Amadeus, I would be speechless
I was waiting for this! It's so amazing!
What version of the movie did you use?
That buffalo scene is still terrorising me in my dreams.
the film that is so legendary yet it production took a toll on the whole crew. imagine the trauma and horror francis felt while making this magnum opus
Unrivaled filmmaking
perfection
Just watched it for the first time today, and outside the screen it's just me mumbling to myself "uuuu beautiful" repeatedly throughout the movie
Amazing how hard was the shooting of this film and its was all worthy until this day is a perfection of filmmaking.
Masterpiece.
Martin Sheen had a heart attack while making this film. Now you know why.
Love this film
I feel confident saying this is the greatest film of all time.
My favorite film but on the DVD you can only get the wide-screen version not the full screen version. Gotta see it on a big screen. All of it. Not two giant black bars top and bottom.
2001: A Space Odyssey is the best movie ever made imo. But due to it's slow pacing - it's not for everyone.
The cinematography for this film is unreal.
Great movie,Great F.F.Coppola☝🔝
perfección hecha cine.
Please do the beauty of come and see (идти и смотрит) next. It is such a beautiful movie with extraordinary and unique cinematography
